The auction was officially over and now it was time to get back to the castle. Everybody else had already left. The carriage was parked in the backyard of the Auction House, although it would not harm to reveal that it was 'Rudra' who spent money so lavishly, he decided to keep it under wraps for now. Especially now that he had Eirwen with him. Sophia did not speak much while the whole journey back to the castle. Eirwen was not in the cage anymore. In fact, she was sitting in Karna's lap. She was a newborn and despite her intelligence, she was still a child. Her body wasn't mature and big like an adult Qilin and so she looked like a rather unique puppy with a horn on the head and a strange tail. It took around an hour for them to get back to the castle. Sophia said goodbye and left, Karna had much to check and think about and so without any delay, he went back to his room. Sophia got back to the same chamber as before. The doors were still closed and some kind of meeting still seem
The special banquet or noble's gathering was now just one day away. When returning to his room, Karna saw that the castle's look had changed significantly. It looked like it was built yesterday, everything was clean and polished. The castle was fully adorned and in full-on festival mode. But Karna had other things to worry about, he had the Spirit Soul Force Manual in his possession and that took priority first and foremost. Karna, first of all, closed the door tightly and brought out the box in which the Manual was placed. "This is important so stay at a side somewhere and don't disturb me, okay?" Karna said as he patted Eirwen. The little Qilin nodded and jumped off Karna's arms. She went where the basket of fruits was and gracefully sat down on the floor with the basket hanging from her tiny mouth. She put down the basket and looked at Karna as if telling him not to worry and that she would keep an eye on him. Karna also sat down on the ground cross-legged sitting on his speci
Karna suddenly felt something in his hands, when he looked down... He saw that he was now holding a sharp knife. The scenery suddenly changed to Karna's past life memories. His whole life started flashing before his eyes. He saw how he lived in the absolute filth of the slums. The rundown and broken small hut were full of holes. Not one night could he sleep peacefully. In the winter, he would shiver with cold, and in the rain, the small hut would be filled with water. He saw before his eyes when he had to beg in the nearby market to earn some food that wasn't even edible, he would have to make do with people's leftover food when he didn't get any money. But most of the time he would starve for days before having a decent meal. He also saw when the local hooligans treated him like trash, they beat him senselessly and treated him like some kind of toy for their amusement. All of this was extremely hard for him to see, his eyes became red and the hand in which he was holding the kn
Karna could not understand what in the hell was happening to him. First, he was transported to earth near the slums, or at least that's what it looked like. The most probable guess was that all of this was an illusion created by the Spirit Soul Force Manual or at least that's what Karna thought. But now was not the time to think about anything else as Karna found himself in his room back in the Zarx Territory. Everything was as he remembered, nothing was changed but he had an inkling that something would happen soon. It seemed to be nighttime as the room was rather dim and the outside was dark. Everything was silent and Karna decided to take a small break and gather himself for whatever would come next. The thought about what happened before crossed his mind. One of his fears was that his parents in the past life might have abandoned him for no reason, but even he thought that it was ridiculous... After all, why would anyone abandon their child for no reason? Karna sat on the bed
Karna saw as the two assassins were closing in on him despite hindering their movement with fireballs. The Assassin with the cutlass was going on full force as he did not give Karna any opportunity to run away. "Damnit! If only the spell had more power..." Karna thought. Fireball and Wind Blast spells were just apprentice-level spells but mages ranked higher were able to increase their power to an unimaginable level despite that. Karna suddenly remembered his previous life and the things that he had learned. "Wind... There is only one way to increase the impact." Karna thought and resolved himself. First of all, he emptied all the spells he had in backup to buy some more time. Multiple fireballs were blasted near where he and the assassin were standing. Karna got burns on his legs from the impact but he endured the pain, the assassin was far worse off than him and halted the continuous assault for a few moments and moved back. The fireballs had created a lot of dust and smoke whi
The fateful day of the banquet was finally here, the castle which was being adorned for a long time now was finally ready for the mysterious event that would soon begin. All preparations were ready, and the ballroom where the banquet was going to be held was especially adorned with gold plating for the grand occasion which only a few individuals knew what was really about. Noble Lords and Ladies, merchants, and even scholars from the capital along with representatives of Nobles who themselves could not attend were getting ready to finally attend the banquet. Lara was currently in Karna's room, she stepped away from him a bit to take a good look at him to make sure she didn't miss anything. Karna was wearing his extravagant clothes as always but he felt as if something was off with the clothes he was wearing that day. "Hey, Lara. Say... Isn't this a bit too much? Even my most lavish clothes aren't this extravagant. I look like a King." He said as he looked awkwardly at the cloth
Karna took a sip of his wine and looked at the entrance as a sound of footsteps was heard coming from outside the Hall. The special guest came in and Karna's eyes widened as he almost spat out the wine in his mouth. "Our first special guest today is the representative from the Leblanc Auction House... Lady Vilma!" Marquis Miller said and raised his glass of wine. Everyone else followed his lead and welcomed her. Vilma came in with Kuku and Mayra on both sides and waved to the people present seductively. "How typical of her..." Sophia muttered. "Why is she here?" Karna spurted out, "You will know soon..." Sophia said. Many people were also wondering the same thing. But no one argued that the Leblanc name didn't deserve to be treated with respect as everyone knew that the mysterious house of Leblanc was not just limited to the Auction House. While on the other hand, Liam was fuming with anger seeing Karna and Sophia whispering to each other. The Duke shot him a glance hinting t
Duke Carlstine walked up to Marquis Miller amidst all the noise of people talking and the clinking sound of cutlery along with the soft and calming melody of music. "Lord Miller, it's nice to see you at last. I have been hearing that you were... rather busy these days." He said with a calm expression. The truth was that Duke Carlstine had been trying to have a meeting with the Marquis before the event but was told that the marquis was busy in preparations. "Forgive me, Your Grace. I have truly been busy in the preparations of a few ventures." Marquis Miller bowed and replied apologetically. "Oh? If I may ask... What ventures might those be?" The Duke asked sarcastically. "Just some minor matters, Your Grace. Not worthy of your attention. Did you like this city of ours? I heard you have been to the Auction House already?" Marquis Miller changed the topic and asked. "Oh it wasn't me, Liam was the one who went there. But I went on sightseeing just recently... You have developed
