Chapter 3: Shank

It was a very quiet night, Harry still sitting on his bed thinking for a moment. Feeling bored, Harry called out to the System, "Then system, start character summoning."

[Started character summoning. Who do you want to call?]

Harry immediately smiled and said "Surely my oldest friend, Shank the killer."

[Request confirmed]

Shank is the first character created by Harry. But because he made Shank at the start of the game, the items used to make Shank weren't good items. Therefore, after playing for a long time, Shank's strength couldn't keep up with Harry anymore. But Harry still continued to give reinforcements and skills to Shank.

After all, this was the first character to accompany him in The World Online game, so Harry remembered it very clearly. Harry did not give bad traits to the characters he created such as traitors. Especially Shank, who at the beginning gave Harry the characteristic of absolute loyalty so that Harry was not afraid that Shank would betray himself in this world. For that reason Harry also decided to summon Shank first.

Suddenly the room Harry was in appeared a magic circle then shone very brightly. After a few moments the light disappeared, in front of Harry stood a male Dark Elf. He has a scary face with long silver hair. He wore a black mask and at his waist were two daggers that gave off a cold light.

Shank opened his eyes slowly and saw Harry in front of him. Shank who saw Harry immediately knelt in front of Harry paying homage.

"Sir, I'm really happy to finally see you again after 10 years."

Harry was very surprised, this was the first time he had seen the summoning character he had made. Because previously Harry had only seen the character from the computer which was very much different than seeing it in person.

"Sir, I swear I will always be with you and give my life." said Shank as he continued to kneel in front of Harry.

Harry panicked and hurriedly ordered Shank to stand up while saying, "No need to overdo it Shank, quickly stand up."

"Okay sir." said Shank, standing straight.

"Shank, will you follow me again to fight in this world?" he asked.

"Sir, Shank will follow wherever you will go and even have to pay with his life." said Shank with eyes filled with determination.

"Fine, then I'm counting on you. Then just call me Harry, it's weird to be called master." said Harry.

"Is it allowed?"

"Of course, we are friends now after all."

Shank was pleased to be considered a friend by Harry. In accordance with his orders Shank obey Harry's wishes.

"Then thanks s- Harry." Shank was a little strange because he wasn't used to calling him by his name.

"Shank, if I'm not mistaken you have the ability to disappear right?" he asked.

"Yes, I can erase my presence and according to the information I got from the System after giving an explanation about this world before I was summoned to this world. It seems that if I use the disappearance ability, even a tier 9 senior magician can't find my whereabouts even if they use detection magic.”

"Then I'll be relying on you to protect me by hiding. But, Shank remember this carefully, you can only help me if it really threatens my life." said Harry.

"Why should it be like that? Shouldn't I help you if someone wants to harm you Harry?" he said.

Harry shook his head and said, "Shank, I won't improve if I only rely on your strength to solve problems. So you don't always have to act unless it threatens my life, you understand?"

"I see, Shank will follow your orders." said Shank reluctantly.

"Then you can rest anywhere for now, it's already late after all. Don't forget to practice too."

"Have a good rest Harry." Shank then began to disappear out of sight.

Seeing this, Harry walked over to his bed to sleep. Before going to sleep Harry said something to Shank "Shank, don't forget to rest. Even though you are taking care of me, you also need to rest."

"Take it easy, Harry." Shank's voice was heard but his whereabouts were still nowhere to be seen.

Seeing the room that looked empty, Harry could only smile before finally starting to sleep.

Every day Harry always lived well, going to the fields to help his father with work and reading books. The day to carry out the elemental compatibility test is getting closer.

Three days before the test time arrived.

"Harry, let's play together." said a little girl named Maudy who is also 10 years old this year like Harry. He is Harry's childhood friend.

Behind him were two 10 year old boys, Brody and Marsha. Harry and the three of them were friends of the same age in this village and would be taking their elemental compatibility test three days later.

"I'm currently busy reading a book." said Harry turning him down gently.

"Come on Harry, you'll get bored if you keep reading books every day. Once in a while you have to play together." said Maudy, pulling Harry to go with them.

"Okay, you don't have to drag me like that. I'll come with you."

Maudy let go of Harry's hand and looked very happy that Harry wanted to come with them.

"Where are we going?"

"We're going to the forest." replied Maudy.

"Isn't the forest dangerous, lots of wild animals."

"Don't be a coward, Harry." said Brody, a thin man who was one of the same age in the village.

"You'll find out soon enough. There's a wizard aptitude test and I'm also going to become a wizard. Therefore, we have to make preparations for the test."

"Preparation?" Harry asked confused.
