CHAPTER 137: The Firefighters

“Get more buckets of water.” A woman said, as the flames became thicker.

A man held a hose to and began to sprinkle it at the front door, but it did nothing in quenching the aggressive fire which refused to be assuaged.

“ Has anyone called the fire service?” A woman said, and a man said something.

Derek's heart sank when he saw the house burning.

“ What are you doing?” A woman asked him when she saw that he was just standing still.

He snapped into action," Do you know if anyone is in there?”

“No, I don't, I don't know if…"

A wood fell, and they heard screams coming from the house. Derek's eyes widened in horror," is that?” He asked no one in particular when he heard another scream. He didn't wait before running to the door and throwing himself at the door. He'd rather die than to see his wife die.

“ What are you doing?!” The woman asked him, her eyes widening in horror as the man before her took that great risk. He wasn't a firefighter, so she didn't understand what he was doing.
