Donald, gripping his binoculars tightly, stared unblinkingly in Evan’s direction. He didn’t dare close his eyes, terrified that he might miss the moment of Evan’s death.

"With an attack of that magnitude, there’s no way the boy from Elysia could have survived."

Louis wasn’t fully convinced—after all, Evan had already defied every expectation. But despite his uncertainty, he clung to the hope that this overwhelming barrage would leave Evan nothing but dust.
