5. It's Wallace Again

Ryan had never been able to figure out what he had done to anger Wallace, even though he was always careful and kind to others, that made him to do such a shady thing to him when they were looking for food?

But Wallace did not answer the question directly. Instead, he put on his usual arrogant and playful sneer and asked knowingly, "Why?"

Ryan spoke slowly. "You know what you did yesterday afternoon,  on the way back..."

"It was just an accident." Without waiting for Ryan to finish his words, Wallace shrugged his shoulders and pretended to be regretful. "I want to protect everyone, but you know, although I am a deviant, my ability is really limited. It is impossible for me to cover everyone in the face of a zombie tide. I believe you understand the situation, don't you?"

When Wallace answered the questions, there was still a faint smile on his face, which made Ryan so disgusted that he wanted to vomit. He could understand that one should retreat in time when facing danger. After all, he had no right to ask anyone to risk their life to save him.

But how could he explain taking advantage of him by kicking him from behind into a zombie swarm?

Ryan was not satisfied with Wallace's answer, but Wallace was obviously too nonchalant to give a more specific answer. He just glanced at him lightly and then said in a normal tone,

"It's a good thing that you came back alive. Don't worry about the insignificant details. It's just a minor misunderstanding."

"In that case, it seems that I am too unreasonable!" Ryan had been sneering secretly, but he was not prepared to show his inner thoughts. He just looked away with an expressionless face.

Although he still couldn't understand why Wallace was targeting him, he couldn't just let this matter go. It was just because of the survival challenge that was about to follow that he did not take action.

Wallace didn't intend to pay any more attention to Ryan. After giving two fake smiles, he led the others straight to the third floor of the warehouse.

As a genuine deviant, Wallace has a very high status here. He was too unbothered to pay attention to, and there was no need to pay attention to, someone who could do nothing. Even if he was clearly targeting Ryan, what could the guy do about it? He had long been accustomed to being arrogant, and was sure that this timid guy would not dare to do anything to him.

On the second floor of the warehouse, there were more than twenty rooms separated by wooden boards, which were where the survivors usually sleep.

Ryan also had a similar room, and it occupied a good location, right next to the window on the second floor, making it convenient for him to observe the environment outside the warehouse at any time.

He wanted to return to the small room as soon as possible and keep a close eye on the zombies' actions, but when he arrived at the door of the room, he found that all his personal belongings had been thrown to the corner of the room, on the ground.

Instead, someone occupied his bed, and even the daily necessities that he had saved up with great difficulty showed signs of having been used by others.

"Who did this?" Looking at the messy bedding, Ryan narrowed his eyes again. Before he could react, a shameless laugh came from behind him.

"Ryan, I'm sorry. When you didn't come back yesterday, everyone thought you were dead. So I..."

"So you took my bed without permission?" Ryan turned back angrily and looked at Lucas who followed closely. He suppressed his anger, took a deep breath and said, "Do you think this is a good behavior?"

Lucas had a greasy face, not only did he not feel guilty at all, but he also relied on someone's support and said with a sly smile, "Why are you blaming me? Who knows you'll come back alive? Besides, is it mu fault for taking your bed. It was approved by Wallace. You have lived here for three months, so you should know who is the boss of this warehouse, don't you?"

Damn, it was this Wallace again! Ryan didn't say anything, but stared at Lucas's disgusting face silently, frowning.

Indeed, ever since Wallace was the first to complete his evolution and became the only deviant in this gathering point, he had enjoyed absolute say here. How the acquired materials were distributed and how the floors and rooms were all arranged by him.

Of course, there have been people who have tried to resist. As for the fate of resistance, it was self-evident...

On the surface, Wallace was a handsome, vibrant, and elegant person with a particularly generous personality who was willing to seek other people's opinions. But anyone who expressed a different opinion from his own would disappear for no reason during the search for supplies, just like himself yesterday.

The past events reappeared in his mind one by one. He glanced at Lucas and said calmly, "Now that I'm back, can you please take your things, and leave my room, now?"

Arrogantly, Lucas continued to put on that indignant face, put his hand on Ryan's shoulder, and said with a fake smile, "I don't think that's a good idea. I moved here with Wallace's instructions. Why don't you go and discuss it with Wallace yourself? As long as he agrees to let you live in, I will..."

"It's my room, it's not anyone else's turn to make the decision, take your dirty hands off me!" This time, without waiting for Lucas to finish his boastful words, Ryan suddenly turned around, firmly grabbed Lucas's wrist, and twisted it hard.
