Isaac lifted his broad sword with whatever strength he could gather in his weak and torn muscles. Even the enraged wolf grunted and roared. Its claws were ready to behead Isaac at any given moment.

Their eyes peered at each other with those bloodshot pupils. In that confrontation, both felt their blood boil and pump heavily. As their gazes met with each other, it was now time for them to strike.

Isaac boomed while the wolf leaped towards him. The wolf attempted to strike its sharp claws on Isaac's head and end his misery at once. Conversely, Isaac had to dodge narrowly since his sword was heavy and he was unable to strike effectively.

His weapon required maximum output and energy to battle with a swift enemy. At that time, he had almost no strength to waste on deceptive attacks. He could strike only once with the tad-left energy he had.

The wolf growled in a rage. It was again prepared to attack Isaac with its drooling jaws. However, its outbreak couldn't cross through the broad sword’

Whereas Sally had a change of behavior. A ray of hope lit in her heart as a grin crept across her face."What is it you have planned? How can we barge into the enemy fortress encircled by numerous wolves?" Catherine frowned in confusion."I don't even know why you suddenly agreed to fight a threatening battle," Daemon asked since even he didn't know what crossed through Tejasv's head.Their doubts were unwelcomed by Sally; she snorted and condemned them inwardly. After all her patience, Tejasv finally agreed to rescue her family. However, his team members again intruded a

They even tried to collide with the same wall to test its endurance. Their strange behavior continued in the shadows of howling wolves while the arena brawl was ongoing. That was a perfect cover for them! After repeated strikes on the wall, they could each drive a small crack into the wall. That moment was the time those wolves had found an opening in Fred's arena charade. While fighting on opposite ends, Fred called out, "Dale, raise new walls within the existing ones. We can form a maze to trap these animals to lost in the fortress. We can still win even if they destroy our current walls."However, an arrow suddenly pierced Dale's chest. He fell to his knees as blood gushed from his mouth. His body felt cold, and he shuddered in fear.Sally gazed at the scene and laughed hysterically. When her arrow pierced her target, she felt a sudden surge of ecstasy and pleasure from the blood that splashed. The moan Dale released at his deathbed was a song to her. When Fred didn't get his response, he turned around, and the horrendous sight baffled him. His subordinate, who could mold their terrible situation somewhat to their advantage, was on his knees. He scowled as his attention shifted to the arrow in Dale's chest. He stammered, "Dale! Wh-what happened?" Suddenly, other teammates also noticed that loss. They all gathered around Dale as their eyes became wet.

Fred took his position and scrutinized the area from the top of the wall, watching some of the wolves creating a tower of carcasses and others trying to crack down one of the walls. They had almost enlarged the crack to a threatening level. With a little more effort, they could probably bring it down.He gave a cold, sinister glance at them. Then he turned to his subordinates and said, "We have kept our skills hidden for a while, but now it is time to show them what we have held up our sleeves."All the rest of his team gave him the same solid smirk. They realized by now that the rest of the living people in the dungeon could threaten them. For their survival and to reign at the top, it's possible only by killing others here.Fred resumed, "Until now I showed some benevolence by keeping those prisoners alive, but from now on it’ll be a massacre. Those bastards will face my wrath and mechanizations.""Are we finally killing these prisoners? I was ready to cull them. Give me the word rig

At the top of the wall, Fred and Rickey stood firmly. While gazing at the beasts rampaging around, Rickey glanced at Fred and asked, "Is it alright for Curtis to fight in the front? He may face some critical threat and could possibly die in the battle. "Fred smirked and replied, "Don't worry, you know he can fight back and survive most of the threats. For the time being, we should focus on ourselves. He can use those siblings as bait if needed.""If you think this way, then it must be right," Rickey replied.Fred grinned with an inexplicable expression and thought inwardly, "I want Curtis and those useless mutts to perform their task. After that, whatever happens, I don't care!"His strategy was already in the making. Nothing could endanger him if everything went as planned, but only if no other variable occurred.Just in the middle of their conversation, a loud resounding noise resounded from the wall that was cracked by the wolves. Fred and Rickey had their attention caught by that

Fred closely watched the entire battle from his position. He rubbed his chin and scoffed, "They’re doing better than I thought. From my assumption, it seemed they would be done in a few minutes, but their formation is better."Rickey blurted out to him, "I guess people fight better when their life is on the line."With a slight grin, Fred replied, "hmm... maybe it's when someone has to protect their loved ones from being gnashed by those bloodthirsty beasts."They both chuckled and kept gazing at the people fighting below. While keeping a watch on the battle, Rickey had some doubts and asked Fred, "Are you sure Curtis can handle them, and when could I jump down to have some kill count in my name?""You’ll get your own chance, and don't worry about Curtis. His skill is nice and provides him with the perfect robust strength for a crucial timing in his battle."Rickey glanced at Fred and again turned to see Curtis fighting the beats spectacularly. Curtis had already killed all the beasts

Fred snorted as he watched the head-on brawl, "It appears the battle may be coming to an end pretty soon; we should move out to our position and retreat!"Rickey frowned in confusion and asked, "wh-what does that mean? Are we not going to engage in the battle against the wolves?""Engage the wolves? Are you mad from the high adrenaline rush in your system? We could both die in that madness down below us. Although it grieves me to lose a subordinate like Curtis, my hands are bound for my survival,'' Fred replied without pause or hesitation. That statement baffled Rickey, and his eyes widened from shock. He stammered, "So we’re going to abandon Curtis here between the bloodthirsty beasts. But why? We could have taken him with us and left those slaves here to fight instead."Fred shook his head and sighed, "I know what you're concerned about, but we needed someone strong enough to lead those three siblings to create a facade of all of my team fighting on the frontline to protect the fortr

Back to the fortress just when Fred and Rickey fled the scene:Tejasv and Daemon had their concentration fixed on the fortress battle between wolves and some humans. From their position, it was hard to confirm and properly recognize the humans fighting head-on.Only a sharp-sighted person or someone with sniping skills like Sally could tell them apart. However, Tejasv had an inkling as to whom the concerned people could be. He squinted his eyes as he found some strange instinct in his head.Tejasv said, "Looks like our prey found an opening through the battle and dashed out of the scene.""Huh! Who the hell ran away? Aren't they fighting over there? I don't think someone would leave their team when the outcome isn't even decided among the beast and humans.'' Daemon raised his brow and replied.Tejasv beside him chuckled and responded, "Well, the result could be different if they all fight with their might and we also join the fray. However, with the people currently fighting, this batt

He steps forward towards the duo with his arms relaxed, to drop the tensions in the ambience. The robed duo unaware of the situation cautiously took a stance and firmly fixed their weapons to strike back if necessary to which Tejasv didn't respond either positively or rebelled. He knew his team may seem suspicious to an outsider in such a bloody and ruthless world. On the other hand, Tejasv considered the behaviour and comeback of the duo normal and even better than some blinded people, who would regard others as a saviour after only first glance. To be prepared and counter, these are the basics to survive in most circumstances.Tejasv reigned his steps a few

The robed duo were shocked by what was happening in front of them. When the robed duo couldn't notice any changes in the area and no one came out from anywhere, they began to be perplexed, and their inner turmoil heightened even more as the seconds passed.Suddenly, when the robed duo rolled their eyes to scrutinise their surroundings, they noticed two silhouettes walking toward them from afar. For starters, they mistook those two for members of another party rather than Tejasv and Daemon's snipers. The only reason for that could be the number of people approaching them and the distance they were from them. It was difficult for the robed duo to imagine th

Tejasv, after a momentary contemplation in his head, blurted out while scrutinising the robed duo. He said, "What is it, now, about that strange behaviour of the spider?"The robed duo stood silently and shook their heads without any word from their mouth. The one with the manly voice stepped up and conversed, "Not here!" He hinted about the surroundings and resumed, "This place is too open for us to talk about anything!"Tejasv’s eyes widen, and a taunting smirk gradually creeps onto his face. He realised the robed duo were wary of the snipers, whom they presumed to be guarding the safety of Tejasv and Daemon from somewhere hidden around the area.Tejasv, on the other hand, remained silent and only glanced at Daemon; both of them understood the robed duo's intentions and concerns. Because Tejasv and Daemon might kill both of the robed men once they have the information they require, they wanted to relocate to a safe and well-known location.Aside from these concerns, Tejasv also saw t

Tejasv was peering at him, while the former responded similarly and paused in those moments.Tejasv even had his eyes slightly wet from the last state he remembered Daemon lying before him. He appeared to be dying at any moment because the spider was about to go into a complete frenzy to eliminate him. However, his friend appeared in front of him after counter-eliminating the monster in a frenzy for him. Daemon also had similar feelings leaking from his eyes because he knew what he experienced, and Tejasv just saved him in the nick of time. Both had enough to say, but not even a word was coming out of their mouths. It even fell to the floor with no chance to retaliate against those two. When the spider realises it has no choice but to overthrow this situation, it lashes out in a frenzy. The spider swings the rest of its limbs with ferocity and abruptness while thrashing them all over. Its intentions were clear: to land some heavy blows on Tejasv since it had no other plan but to dash away from this situation.Another cause behind such trancelike behaviour could be defending itself from the incoming barrage of arrows. The spider must have thought that by moving around in unpredictable ways, it could avoid the arrows and prevent the archer from marking the spider. However, the spider had no clue about the skill of the arche

Tejasv and Salina had a short conversation when Salina enhanced her skill to a better one, which was able to use the features of both [search] and [chaser strike].That was the moment to mechanise the way Salina may use the skill, which should handle the use of this skill more appropriately and better than Sally. As a result, Tejasv and Salina talked things out, and Tejasv then suggested a method to her, which elevated her talent as a sniper to new heights.Tejasv suggested to Salina that she may aim for a target and mark him with her skills. Then he asked her to act differently than Sally. Tejasv instructed her to strike her arrow in a different direction rather than releasing it to the target she had targeted with her skills.Because her ability would direct and hover the arrow on its own, it will take a curve and strike the target with a different path after releasing the arrow. Even if someone tried to find the location of Salina, these events would lead to a different origin poin

Tejasv was in definite danger because he had nothing to fend off the strikes of the spider. Not only that the spider was somewhat in a hurry to end Tejasv, and because of these reasons, it used every ounce of strength within him to stomp him on the floor when facing no resistance from him.The spider gradually realised that Tejasv had nothing with him that could threaten or halt its aggression toward him; therefore, the spider was now on a killing spree for Tejasv. Salina, when she got a permit from Catherine, aimed for the spider’s front legs since its head and the rest of its body was covered by a tough armoured exoskeleton. She intended to put an end to the spider's frenzy of pursuing Daemon. She shot another arrow for the next limb of the spider as soon as she marked it and invoked her skill while releasing the arrow to definitely stop it in that position and give Tejasv more time in that strenuous task. When those arrows struck the spider, it became stuck in that position because two of its limbs, which had previously allowed it to crawl toward the Daemon, were rendered useless by the arrows, which appeared out of nowhere and attached to the floor.Tejasv sighed with relief and smirked slightly. The agitated and perplexed ones were not only team Tejasv but also the robed duo. Though they had no dismay for the spider’s strange actions, they had more concern for Tejasv and his companion, Daemon, who was in a hopeless state. When Dameon fell and faced a sudden attack from the spider, they lost all hope of him surviving, regardless of whether Tejasv intervened or someone else struck the spider, because the monster was intent on eating Daemon whether anyone approached him or not. When they least expected it, Tejasv not only disturbed the spider’s balance but also leapt before it to rescue his friend from the spider’s clutches.
