A thick, dark book with no extraordinary features appeared in thin air.
A white page opened, and Jerouch picked up the jet-black pen he found on the Grimoire.Enoch.Ding![Target analysis in progress…]It wasn't even up to a few seconds when he saw the results.Target- EnochRank- FClass- Tank[Passive skills]Hammer- Lvl 5Hand to hand combat- Lvl 6[Abilities]TremorEarth spikeEarth wall.[Copy ability] Yes/No' Who in their right mind says no? ' Jerouch laughed as he said yes in his mind. The next thing, he felt as though he was connected to something.Opening the status page, he went straight to the grimoire tab, and there he saw it.[Grimoire. ][Copied abilities.]Tremor.Earth spike.Earth wall.Focusing on each skill, he soon got their description.Tremor- an earth related ability that made the ground two meters around the host vibrate, making his foes lose their balance while being unaffected.Rank- FEarth spike- the power to summon a couple of spikes made from earth to attack enemies.Rank- FEarth wall- host can create a wall of earth to defend against the enemy's attack. Can defend against most F rank attacks.Rank- F.' Tremor! 'Jerouch called out and instantly, the dungeon floor two meters around him started vibrating. It eventually stopped after ten seconds.' The mana cost is two, umm, I must say not bad hehe. ''' Now the others… 'Grabbing the pen again, he wrote another name.Roy.Target- RoyRank- FClass- Warrior[Passive skills.]Sword slash- Lvl 4Sword cut- Lvl 3[Abilities]Water bullets.Water swords.' Copy abilities. ' This time around, Jerouch didn't wait for the system to ask before he copied it.The descriptions were quite straightforward. The water bullets allowed one to shoot a bulletmade of water about the size of one's finger. And the water sword replicated a sword, but with water as its base. One can launch this sword or use it at a close distance.Jerouch continued to copy the other's abilities and when he was done, his abilities looked like this.Tremor, earth spikes, earth walls, water bullets, water swords, toxins, healing, flame arrows, wind arrows, freeze, ice spikes, wind slash, breeze.Apparently, all of them were F ranks, and they had no superb abilities. However, these were more than enough for now.Jerouch knew that with the system, he had countless potentials as he would soon lay his hand on powerful warlocks whom he could copy their abilities.By the time he got to the entrance of the second floor, he had killed a couple of spiders and his experience had exceeded half of what he needed to advance to level three. The entrance to the second floor was partitioned with a brown metal door with no locks. It was about two meters tall and about a meter wide. The flame torches toward this point burned fiercely, making the exit of the first floor brighter.Jerouch placed his hand on the door, which slid open after screeching for several seconds.***Karah watched the large corpse before her a couple of times before turning to leave after removing its core. The place where the battle took place had turned to ruins. The ground was charred and even the trees in a hundred-meter radius had all been uprooted. The air still felt stuffy due to dust and smoke, and the mana in this place was albeit unstable. As for the wyvern, it had a large hole in its chest which was so deep that it connected to the rear space. Its head lay some distance away, as it had been decapitated during the battle.Karah, on the other hand, had no injury. As a matter of fact, she had no stains on her outfit and her hair remained styled as though she had never participated in a battle.' Overestimation of one's ability, pfft. ' she snorted, twirling the silver chain in the air before it disappeared.' And that presence I sensed back then… ' her eyes perked as she looked in the distance.Although she was engaging in a battle, she still had room to sense her environment. And even though it was brief, she definitely sensed the presence of a human.'I can't mistake their scents after all. ' she squeezed her nose as she tried to sniff the air to see if she could detect anything.' Anyway, their mana was weak, barely that of an F rank warlock. ' she murmured as she flew in a particular direction.***Jerouch, on the other hand, didn't know that his little curiosity had made someone begin to trail him.Rather, he was here in the middle of battle.Corpses of giant spiders surrounded him. Those that were still alive also amount up to a dozen, and they were all making screeches as they took battle stances. This was their home, and they were not ready to allow any intruder to lurk around.Jerouch jumped forward and activated dash.He felt light as usual and his speed spiked up.He appeared before one of the spiders instantly and punched. Not waiting to see what happened to the spider, he turned backwards and activated one of his new abilities.'' Wind slash. ''He bellowed and raised his hands forward. Two thin blades each about half a meter in size made of compressed wind formed at the tip of his hands, and they shot straight towards another spider.''Earth wall, '' he muttered and a wall of mud appeared beside him.Multiple spider webs hit the wall until it eventually shattered. However, Jerouch had used that as an opportunity to kill even more spiders. As he killed them, he got new notifications, which only spiked his adrenaline. If it were before, he would have suffered many injuries if he was surrounded by the spiders, but by the time he was almost done clearing the second floor, he had improved, and his battle coordination was even better.More minutes passed, and Jerouch was finally done.He checked the corpses that scattered everywhere, and a gratified grin appeared on his face. Each corpse was in a different condition. Some were charred, some had their appendages frozen, while some were just crushed beyond recognition.Stepping on top of these corpses, he finally got to the entrance of the third floor and if his intuition was correct, this was probably the floor of the dungeon boss.'' Here we go then,' he said with anticipation as he pushed the large oval door open.Jerouch stepped inside the new floor and just from the interiors, he could tell that this place was far different from the previous floors. The wall here was smoother, and the flame torches were bigger too. The ground was covered in cobwebs and so was the roof. There were also rusty weapons scattered all around the place, and Jerouch could smell something familiar in the air. He focused his eyes on the distance, and he couldn't help but frown. He saw fresh corpses at the centre of the room and, counting them, they were four that lay on the floor. Krack!Jerouch subconsciously turned his head backwards, and he found the door to have locked by itself. He could feel that something ominous was brewing, which made him clench his fists and blood rushed to his face. '' Ggrrhh! ''At the end of the room, what seemed like an elevated platform suddenly shook. '' Fuck. '' Jerouch swallowed hard as he saw the three-meter-tall spider. Just looking from the distance, one could tell that i
Jerouch shielded his eyes as a white light enveloped his figure, leaving him no room for retreat. The eyes of the supposed-to-be dead spider were wide open, which made him gulp. The eyes were no longer glowing red, instead, they were radiating powerful white radiance. The rest of the spider's body was also radiating this white light of unknown origin. The figure of the spider slowly began to rise in the air, and it looked down at Jerouch as though he were nothing of importance. Jerouch could feel the change in the demeanour. The aura that the spider exuded was nothing like before. It felt majestic, terrifying and as well calming. All those mixed feelings wanted to make Jerouch go crazy, and he grabbed his head tightly. A massive pressure soon mounted on him, and he felt as if his heart would rip apart. His bone started cracking and blood oozed out from his orifices. '' W-what is t-this…'' His mouth clattered as he struggled to stand properly. Jerouch kept falling to the grou
'' Fire arrows '' Multiple arrows made of flames pierced her already crushed throat and fried everything to point black. Silence!Everywhere became eerily quiet. Jerouch's emotionless eyes glanced at the corpse, yet, he felt zero guilt, killing someone wasn't his first time after all, at least not on Earth. '' Amy! '' '' Bastard, what have you done! '' One of the boys with green hair roared in madness as his brain finally processed what just happened. It was too fast, and none of them expected such ruthlessness. Jerouch closed in the distance towards the boy, and he prepared to punch him. This time though, they were ready. '' Tremor! '' Enoch bellowed with a murderous gaze. The ground vibrated vehemently, which bought him time to intercept Jerouch. Swinging his hammer in an upward diagonal arc, he aimed at Jerouch. Jerouch saw the hammer heading his way, and he bent his legs down slightly. Kicking the ground, he used the recoil force to fly backwards like a feather. The wi
Karah stood in front of the monolith shimmering with one blue star above it. She breathed in slowly and allowed the wind to flap her large skirts together with her long hair, which danced vibrantly in the air. '' Tsk, Why am I even here? '' She clicked her tongue. '' The dungeon barrier is trying to shield the mana fluctuation. However, I can still perceive it… '' Her eyes beamed as she thought of watching the puny humans battle each. '' Damn you, karah, I'm not supposed to be here. '' She shook her head but eventually, she shrugged her shoulders and pressed forward, giving in to her curiosity. '' I'll just take a glance and leave. ''***'' Earth shower! ''A tired but loud scream ravelled Jerouch's ears. From the distance, he could see Enoch slump to the ground, but that wasn't his major concern. On the roofs were dozens of big boulders about to crash downward. '' Fuck this man. '' Jerouch gritted his teeth in exasperation. '' Hey oldie, what in the hell do you think you're
The warm morning sunlight made its way to Jerouch's eyes as he opened them with struggle. He eventually woke up from his long unconscious state, but he still squinted his eyes waiting for them to adjust to the new, bright environment. The chirping of birds and insects along with short, rapid movements of rodents flooded his ears and he breathed in the sizzling scents of flora. '' Come to think of it, flora…? '' He jumped from where he lay in an awkward position and looked around in confusion. The memories of his last battle rushed into his mind and he got even more perplexed. He knew he should be in the rumbles at best, but here he was enjoying the calming atmosphere of beautiful flowers and shrubs. '' Tsk, you're awake at last, I thought I might just finish you off. ''Jerouch abruptly turned when he heard an unfamiliar voice calling from behind. Immediately after he saw who the voice belonged to, his heart tied a knot and his whole body tensed up. His hair stood erect, and
' Is this lady possessed? ' Jerouch thought with perplexity as he followed the figure of Karah who was walking ahead. ' First, she unclothed me, then she wanted to kill me, and now training? Like really? 'Jerouch wasn't offended though, in fact, he was rather elated from the inside as he saw the system notification. [Quest- Learn from a veteran][Reward]All passive skills level up'' Hey! '' Karah clicked her fingers as Jerouch almost bumped into her. '' What's occupying your mind that much? '' She asked with furrowed eyebrows. '' Ah, nothing important, I'm only looking forward to the training. '' He lied with a cheeky face. If he saw how unreal his face was right now, he might burst out laughing blowing his cover. '' Um. '' Karah nodded and continued walking. They were now deep in the forest and Jerouch was a bit tense. However, whenever he remembered that he was together with this angel from hell, relief washed over him. '' At least that monster from back then should be ve
Jerouch's ears burned with anticipation as he watched Karah make some weird hand movements.'' Learning how to control your mana should be your priority. '' Karah muttered, waving her chain while twirling along with it in sync. '' Too much mana and you will drain yourself quickly, and too little mana and you will get an undesirable effect. '' She spoke at the top of her voice jumping into the air, making an upward slash. Space vibrated and Jerouch could feel his visceral trembling. Just her casual waves were causing so much disturbance. ' Is there something like that? '' Jerouch thought. ' All he knew was to activate a skill and the system would take over the rest. Some parts of him were telling him not to be overly reliant on the system but he shrugged. Who was he even kidding, the system gave him that power, without it, he was just a vegetable. Not that he felt great about it but duh, who cared? ' I can't imagine the pain of tracking and controlling the right amount of mana fo
Two F rank wolves jumped at Jerouch from his ten o'clock and two o'clock directions aiming to lock him in a pincer attack. He kicked the ground and flew backwards, landing softly on his right leg. He raised his head and gazed at the two attackers who smashed the ground with their paws. Before he could relax though, another F rank wolf approached him from the left, his mouth wide open, aiming to rip Jerouch apart. '' Fire arrows. '' He muttered, activating the skill quickly. Three arrows blazing with red flame each reaching a metre long manifested in the air and struck the three wolves. One of the wolves had its left forelimb ripped apart and he rolled on the ground after losing his balance. The second arrow pierced the second wolf's belly, while the other arrow roasted the third wolf's eye. Using dash, he appeared close to his targets and punched each of them smashing their skulls. '' Three down. '' He jumped in the air dodging a fast figure that approached him abruptly. '' W
