It's Raining Werewolves

"...Forbid your arms on this day for they are useless, employ only your legs, for that, that only might save you some time before your doom connects," A voice from a speaker tells.

"Babe, how does it sound?" Kareem yearns for his girlfriend's opinion.

They're both in beach wears, lying on the sand of a fine beach in a small island village. The sunset giving off a lovely sight as the evening breeze blows them calmly. They're the only ones around.

"You and your dumb podcasts. This one sounds good though," Kathy compliments. "But what if they ain't real, babe? What if they're just rumors?"

"Five Saint Soldiers down, plus a Blacky. How often do Blackies die in this country?" Kareem points out facts. "They're out there sweetie, but we've got each other."

"Ohh, look who's being so nice to me today," Kathy teases.

Kareem sits up, "What you talking bout? I'm always nice to you."

Kathy curls her lips and blinks in a fine troublesome face. "Uh-uh."

"Confess the truth. Confess now or I make you," Kareem threatens.

She closes her eyes tightly in her lying position and nods no like a nursery school baby. So cute.

He shapes his hand like a sword and raises it up in the air, "3, 2..."

Before he could say one, Kathy rolls out of his range, stands up quickly in her bikinis and runs toward the ocean. He chases her in his shorts, "You slippery butter cake."

She runs directly into the ocean.

"No, no, no, no, no, I ain't letting that happen," He calls to his powers making the water shift backwards away from her giving the beach more space.

In the same instance she swings her hand trying to make the water come back to her. Before it could come back to her, Kareem dives her down on the sand and launches pillow-punches at her. "Confess confess confess confess." He vocalizes at a fast pace.

Unfortunately for him her palm is wide open and hence the ocean rushes towards them.

"No...," Kathy yells out laughing as the waters comes to push Kareem away like a bullet being fired away from a toy gun.

She runs into the deep ocean swimming further and laughing hard, simultaneously. In that moment of excitement, she turns back for the first time since the blast. But something's wrong, Kareem is nowhere to be found.

A stink of concern instantly hits Kathy and her expression suddenly dulls, "Babe." She looks around for him. "This is not funny." To her surprise the area is suddenly quiet as a cemetery and she's the only one around. "This is getting scary, babe." After a while of observing the area Kathy yells out, "Alright, alright. I give up. I'd confess."

But still there was no slight noise anywhere and Kareem couldn't be sighted. She walks through the water slowly making her way to the seashore as she looks around in deep concern and fear.

"Shark attack," from nowhere Kareem dives her from underneath the water and swims away pulling her leg along.

At first a renewed feeling of joy enters Kathy and an extravagant smile finds her face. She enjoys the ride for a while but then the spirit of competition enters her again and she pulls her leg from him, spreading her arms wild apart in a swimming motion to gain more force in the water.

At last she gets free of his grip, he turns around that instant coming back for her. But Kathy is already at a vantage point of her own, she splashes waves of water over and over again directly to his face. Kareem keeps clearing his eyes.

"Ooh, I thought sharks like water," Kathy teases in a Mickey Mouse voice.

While Kareem just floats around her receiving all the water shots she keeps splashing at him with his mouth wide open, and making a 'uhhh' sound for every splash.

Kathy's sure enjoying it, she splashes even faster, laughing.

He swings his hand and the water goes backwards from them. They both fall on the beach in unison and face the sky, their faces beaming with joy while their hearts pump in relief.

They relax for a while, then suddenly droplets of water begin to crawl down Kathy's body like sweat. She's surprised, this doesn't look normal. She sits up and checks herself, suddenly she's dried up.

She turns to Kareem with eyes full of suspicion, "Did you do that?"

"Yes," Kareem answers without the slightest feeling of guilt.

She touches his chest still in question of why he did it. "Then how come your still wet?"

"Cause you're the only one I dried up, butter cup," Kareem still looks casual about it.

"Why?" Kathy stares into his eyes in a way he'd know death is sure for him if he doesn't give an answer asap.

"Because," Kareem crosses his other leg over her and pulls her in. "I'm the only one allowed to wet you babe."

"What?" She's blushes. "Oh my god. You're so crazy." As the last sting of laughter leaves her mouth she's suddenly more energetic like she's just got an inspiration. "I have an idea, let's have sex here on this open field."

"What if people start coming to the beach," Kareem considers the possibilities.

"That's the cool thing about it, taking risks," Kathy explains with the smile of a philosopher when he proving a theory.

...

Meanwhile, a squad of werewolves led by Charon are already on the island. They walk through a bush path on a straight line.

Elsa is one of them, but she lags behind. It looks like she's bothered by something in her mind. She walks slowly, like she's counting steps, simultaneously kicking away the small branches in her path. In my opinion she's frustrated.

One of the few young women on this mission, Teresa, who also happens to be Elsa's best friend slows down waiting to walk by her.

"What's wrong?" Teresa inquires.

"Nothing," Elsa nonchalantly replies suddenly snapping back to reality.

"C'mon Elsa, what's up? You've been acting weird this few days," Teresa shows concern.

"I have? Wow, I didn't notice," Elsa exclaims trying to shift the conversation from the side of having to tell reasons.

"So you're gonna talk?" Teresa persists.

"Talk about what?" Elsa raises her voice slightly.

"C'mon babe, we're best friends. You're gonna start with the secrets now?" Teresa reminds her.

Elsa sighs and walks on with Teresa for some silent seconds then, "I encountered one of them the other day, but it was different."

"One of who?"

"The humans. C'mon, think fast," Elsa tells in an irritated manner.

"Okay okay, I get it," Teresa confirms.

"Don't make me say things twice," Elsa instructs sharply, after all she's been trying as much to avoid this conversation.

"Okay," Teresa raises her voice mainly in a bid to end this part of the conversation and to begin the story already.

"Okay, so..." Elsa trials off.

"So?" Teresa urges.

"His name is Jake," Elsa walks a little bit faster in shyness swinging her hands along. Teresa increases speed to equal with her.

"He was at the meeting at the North cartel 09. Gosh, we both couldn't stop staring at each other. It was like electric, like we were meant to be," Elsa explains energetically then she suddenly pauses on a spot deep in thought. "And Frederick was right, I did had him." She describes with her hands but in a kind of romantic way.

"But then you let him go?" Teresa investigates further.

"Yeah," Elsa confesses. "When I saw his real face, I just couldn't help myself. He was so warm, so gentle. Like I could see a better me through his eyes, a much happier me."

"Girl, you haven't even seen him for real when you felt this electric for him?" Teresa bowls over.

"Yeah, just his eyes...and his scent," Elsa elucidates. She looks up straight dreamingly. "Something in me just keeps wanting him."

"You think your ever gonna see him again?" Her friend asks, concerned.

"Maybe yes, maybe no. I don't really know," Elsa responds in ambiguity.

"You will, on the battlefield," Teresa spits reality.

"I hope so," Elsa answers casually as her eyes widen due to her brain realizing the unavoidable possiblity of that reality. Maybe her dreams weren't meant to come true after all. Maybe she was never meant to fall in love.

They both start walking again, covering some inches in speechlessness. They're both in a sad countenance, for Elsa it's obvious. But for Teresa, she's mostly sad for the fate of her friend. Who gets mated to a human in such terrible times.

"You still remember Fredrick marked you for a mate, right?"

Elsa's face molds into a frown, "Isn't it obvious, I'm rejecting him."

"But you already accepted him," Teresa reminds.

"Hey girls, walk faster, we found them," One of the guys in their pack, Adonis yells to them. "This ain't a beauty pageant."

They stare at each other like hostiles for a quick second, then breaks it and walks faster to meet the team.

"Where are they?" Teresa questions in curiosity.

"Shhhh, stay low," Charon instructs.

The five werewolves all stoop down behind a large stone covered with grass spying on Kareem and Kathy who lie still on the beach, with Kathy sitting on Kareem's stomach.

"That's them. Remember the mission, we make him bring down the podcast in anyway he can. Then we kill and bury their bodies," Charon briefs.

On the other hand Elsa's in a trance, her own mind has turned into a safe zone for choas. By this Charon's words are like untterly silent breeze to her hears, and her mind has educed to perceiving the death of the two lovers on the beach as a solution to her problem. Her brain blurs the background of the entire area and paints the lovers in bloody red.

She perceive their laughter, she can scent their happiness. Deep down she knows that's what she wants, but on the surface envy consumes her. Her reasoning shrinks and aggressiveness expatiates. Her life is stuck in a position that seems impossible to escape, maybe flexing her muscles a little can help her relax.

"Ahhhhh," she yells in deep frustration as she races towards them (the lovers) openly.

"Elsa," Teresa yells out.

Charon stands up straight and observes her in surprised eyes, but his cool remains. Fredrick must have told him everything.

"C'mon babe, let's just do it. I dated you cause you were," Kathy kisses the open air. "So good at sex. I never thought you'd chicken out."

Kareem sits up in rapid motion, " You dated me for sex?"

Kathy ignores him. She's obviously distracted. "What's that woman doing?"

Kareem turns to see Elsa approaching them in normal human speed, she isn't using her powers yet. "I think she's coming towards us."

"Yes, she definitely is," Kathy nods in agreement, her eyes in question of why the woman is coming after them. The mad woman, another thought whispers to her brain.

"Why do you think she's running towards us?" Kathy asks still looking at her.

"I don't know," Kareem replies, also freezed on Elsa.

"Should we run?" Kathy stares still.

"Calm down, this ain't the middle east," Kareem motivates, his eyes not moving an itch away from Elsa.

As Elsa draws nearer and nearer to them she transforms fully into her wolf form maintaining motion and aggressiveness.

"What's gone into her?" Charon's face expresses confusion.

So does Teresa's, her heart quickly joins in, panting heavily. What has she said?
