Corey awoke first, sneaking out of the tent to go and take a bath in the lake. He got dressed there, before coming back to the camp site. The day was bright and early, yet everyone in his make shift team was fast asleep.

Even Greta.

NewAge: TIME TO CHECK THE MAP, COREY, WHERE DO WE BEGIN?

'That part, I've had alot of time to think about it. We need to find a guild offering quests. If I can get a very high quest, then there's a chance at me being at level ten sooner than later.'

NewAge: I LIKE THE IDEA. BUT WHAT GUILD WILL YOU GO TOO? ELEANORA DOESN'T KNOW EVERYWHERE.

Corey laughed, but only on the inside. NewAge wanted him to test out the map. So he did, pulling out scroll like map. Making it wasn't easy, he had to crush the eyeballs and spread the pieces out on an empty piece of paper. Then he had to get some ingredients from NewAge to add to it. He waited almost an hour for it to be done.

It was worth the hard work. The seer's eye would help in see everywhere in the game. He pulled the scroll open, and read through the names.

'Caltica?' he looked closely, watching the name of the city expand over the entire map, showing him the names of the towns and important site to visit.

'What is caltica?' he asked NewAge. He had a feeling the system would know.

NewAge:

CITY: CALTICA

NICKNAME: THE HOME OF THE SEA LOVERS

CALTICA IS HOME TO THE MERMAID, SEA BREATHERS, AND SIRENS. IT IS COMPLETELY SUBMERGED UNDER WATER AND YOU CAN ONLY VISIT ON THEIR OPENING DAYS. THAT WAY THEY WON'T FEAST ON YOU.

CALTICA IS ALSO KNOWN TO HAVE ONE OF THE BIGGEST GUILDS IN THE ENTIRE GAME, IT IS ACTUALLY NUMBER FIVE. AND THE LEVEL OF CITIES, CALTICA IS SO SUCCESSFUL, IT RANKS NUMBER TWELVE, LEVEL 500,000.

THE LEVEL FOR CITIES IS BIGGER THAN PEOPLE.

IF YOU'RE LUCKY TO GET A QUEST FROM THERE, DO BE WANRED THAT IT WILL MOST LIKELY BE AN ADVENTURE QUEST THAT WILL TAKE YOU DAYS, MONTHS EVEN TO COMPLETE. BUT YOUR RANK CAN GET UP TO 500 IF YOU DO IT RIGHT

THEIR NEXT OPENING DAY IS IN THREE DAYS, ACCORDING TO DRAGON MAGES, AND EVERYONE IN THE GAME, SIX WHITE MOONS. SO GET COMFORTABLE.

INFORMATION:

SILVER MOONS ARE HOURS

WHITE MOONS SIGNIFY DAYS

BLOOD MOONS MEAN MONTHS

AND BLUE MOONS ARE YEARS

'Interesting. Any other advice?'

NewAge: YES, CHOOSE A ROYAL QUEST. IT GIVES THE HIGHEST BOOST. OR CHOOSE A KNIGHT'S QUEST. YOU CAN EARN A WEAPON IF YOU'RE SUCCESSFUL.

Corey thanked the system, folding the map back. Just in time for the zipper on the tent to slide up, the flap parted and Eleanora stepped out. She rubbed her eyes, clearly still exhausted.

He waved to her, his mask placed on his head rather than his face. She waved back, happy to see him.

While Eleanora wanted to go to the lake to clean up, she realized she'd have to wait for Pamela. Or risk letting her go on her own, without any supervision. Corey going with her was completely out of the question.

He's a guy, it would be immoral. She told herself. Not wanting to admit her jealousy.

Corey popped another berry into his mouth, if there's one thing he enjoyed about the game is the lack of bad breath. There was no need to brush your teeth, they remained clean no matter what you ate. His teeth had never been more white.

And his tongue clean.

If he ever met someone in the game with bad breath, he'd be surprised.

He thought about the game. He knew it was a game when he bought it, but now it was his life and world. To the people like Eleanora, this was no game.

But her life from day one.

He wondered how the game looked like from a third person perspective. Obviously it would be difficult to play, but it would be cool as hell.

Similar to CLASH of THUNDER only, and he didn't say this alot, better. There were only a few games better than CLASH of THUNDER.

No more than a five.

'Six white moons, what to do within that time?'

He moved his stare back to Eleanora, who only stood by the tent. Waiting for something, he figured she was waiting for Pamela.

His stare moved to Greta and an idea slid into his brain.

"Eleanora?" He called for her.

"Yes, Corey?"

"Are you up for training with Greta today?"

She jumped to her feet, and Corey could tell what was about to happen next. He got up, just in time to be knocked down by Eleanora. Her arms engulfed him a hug. Corey landed with a thud, his feet resting on the log with her on top of him.

The key to running a good harem, is to keep the women happy. That's what Corey knew. He had learnt that from playing A sexy succubus harem. To win each succubus, he had to keep them happy. They can become really submissive and obedient, and horny- but Corey doubted either Eleanora or Pamela found him sexually desirable- once the male character treats them as though they were gems.

He wouldn't change himself to impress any of them, but he would make them clingy towards him, by pretending that he was helping them for their own good. When really, he needed a strong set of people to help him win the game.

Once he was stronger, and he could build his paradise, beautiful women walking around it would be so much better than just himself and NewAge.

He slid his hands to Eleanora'e back, running his fingers up and down her spine. She melted against his body, her heat felt nice to him.

Eleanora was comfortable in the position she was in, pressing her nose into Corey's neck.

He let her hug him for as long as she needed. Which ended up being until Pamela woke from her sleep. The human had walked out of the tent, wanting to search for her unofficial friends.

She only saw two sets of feet on one of the logs.

A male's, and a female.

Their top half was hidden from her view. She didn't want to walk there to see if there were making out or anything, but she did out of curiosity.

She leaned over the log, almost feeling relieved that they were only hugging. Or cuddling, she couldn't tell. Her breath was stolen by the man staring back at her.

Corey didn't look human, his face was purple and it had scars around the lines of his nose. He pointed his chin at her as a way of greeting, and she could only smile in return.

He's handsome, she mutters silently. She had never expected the gamer her friend was talking about would be…. attractive. She almost wished to be in Eleanor's position. But Corey's emotionless eyes made her fearful.

'They must have known each other for a long time to be this comfortable.' she sighed in musings.

Corey patted Eleanora on the back to get her attention, she leaned on her elbows and gave him a quizzical look.

He made the same chin movement and she turned around, seeing Pamela staring off to the side with pink highlighting her cheekbones.

Eleanora rolled off Corey, and got on her feet. Laughing nervously as she blushed too. Corey accepted something as he watched the women silently walk down the path to the lake, he didn't understand real women.

What were they blushing for?

He dusted the sand, and patches of grass that had gotten on his jacket. Heading out wake Greta up. But then he stopped, reminding himself that if he wanted Eleanora to level up, she would need to learn how to bond with her dragon.

Bond first, training later. The bond is the key to getting Greta to do things, but it is only one step.

Both dragon and mage would have to be on the same team for them to truly succeed.

So he stood, waiting for Eleanora to return. When she did, she and Pamela seemed to have gotten over their embarrassment.

"So what are we doing today?" Pamela inquired, she was hoping Corey would tell her they'd start searching for a way home. She bag of fruits and berries to eat.

"We are helping Eleanora bond with her dragon." Corey gave his response. Eleanora hurried to stand next to him.

Pamela watched them, disappointment flowing through her.

"Okay, um, what should I do?"

Corey thought about it.

NewAge: YOUR ENGINEER WANTS TO GO HOME.

'Already knew that.'

NewAge: SO WHAT WILL YOU DO?

'The only way to return is to defeat the god of games. I'll tell her that. She'll want to help even more so we can get back soon.'

NewAge: WHAT WILL YOU TELL ELEANORA? SHE CLEARLY WON'T WANT TO RETURN TO YOUR HOME. IF SHE COULD.

'You're thinking small NewAge. Pamela won't want to go back to earth, once I show her how much of an impact she can have here. And I never said I was leaving with her.'

NewAge: I SEE, TRICK HER INTO BELIEVING ONCE YOU WIN, YOU'LL HELP HER GET HOME. AND YOU WILL, BUT BY THE TIME YOU GET THERE, SHE WON'T WANT TO LEAVE ANYMORE.

MY DEAR MASTER, YOU ARE WISER THAN I THOUGHT. AND VERY WICKED TO PLAY SUCH INNOCENT WOMEN

Corey chuckled. 'I'm doing nothing wrong.'

He believed so. He was helping them, help him.

He brought his focus back to the matter a hand.

"What do we do first?"

"Wake Greta up." He told her.

"That is a bad idea."

"You can do it, let me show you." Corey got behind her, gripping the lengths of her arms. The fishnet gloves drew up under Corey's touch. He edged Eleanora's left had towards Greta's nose.

The mage trembled, she usually waited for the dragon to wake on its own. She didn't want to lose an arm. With her curved back pressed against Corey's front, she settled into a trusting ease. Hoping his lead wouldn't get her dismembered.

Greta is a great Dane. They have a temper." Her teeth almost clattered with fear, and Corey rolled his eyes. Greta's skin glistens beneath the sun's gaze, as though it bathed her with the heat. She looked at peace. Disrupting the peace of a sleeping dragon is unwise, but he was confident. Eleanora was no where near confident. Corey sat back with content, and a strange admiration, watching Pamela work on the robot. She didn't ask for help once, not even for him to pass the tools. When eh first read about her, he had thought she was smart. That she was brilliant, and incredibly talented for her to excel this much in her field. He had never thought he would see the missing girl in person, working on a robot. But she was. She looked so in sync with it. Kneeling to add eat piece together, or to melt them over a blow torch. Corey watched her intently, if someone were to attack him now, he'd have a had time looking away. They had to get the robot done before Eleanora returned. Which, seeing how precise Pamela is with the skeleton of the robot, could be a problem. He had time. Alot of it until they had to leave for the home of the sea dwellers. • Surviving the Lock Keeper's Game    017: Purple in the sky

There are two things Corey comes to notice as Greta pins him to the ground underneath her strong chin. There are little spikes there that poke at his skin, and he could only hope they weren't causing damage to his stomach as he wouldn't be able to know. His lack of notice or care for his pain demolishes the part of his brain that was meant to alert him when he was seriously hurt. One of the things Corey noticed was how his body wasn't built for anything that involved running. He was never an athlete in school. He never engaged in any sport related activity that would cause him to run or sweat. He supposed that would explain why he was so out of shape. The second thing he noticed was how little time he had taken to explore the Lock keeper. The unique environment, he dived deep into planning to win that he had forgotten he wasn't on earth anymore. Instead, a magical land that although it was a bit dangerous, it was different. It had elves, mages, norks, and who knows what other creat

The trio made their way to the lake, just standing at the shore waiting for one person to do something. Eleanora whose idea this had been, was finding it difficult to follow through with it. She and Pamela had taken a bath together that morning. They were girl. Growing into pals, and it was natural. It was like she was at a hot spring back in lithua. But with Corey? That was a diff level. Both women had this unspoken attraction to him that made little to no sense. As they didn't even know him well enough to pinpoint what they were attracted too. There's just something in the way he acts, he talk, how he does everything that provides this strange magnetic pull. Pamela was sure that if she could feel it, then so could Eleanora. And she wasn't sure what to do with that information. Corey, noticing the women were rooted to their spots like they feared moving wit trigger a trap wire or something, decided to be the one to take the first step. 'my bandages are waterproof. "We should sing a travel song!" Pamela screeched, after just two minutes of them being in the air. Corey was close to drifting off, it was easy to fall asleep when you're fifty feet high in the air. "A travel song?" He wasn't much of a singer. In fact, Corey couldn't pick a point in his life where he actually sang something. Not even the lyrics to his favorite song. The third trailer for the CLASH of THUNDER game. Unusual for that to be his favorite, but he didn't mind. He loved how the song depicted the struggles of the warriors, and how they all battle for the same thing. Against the same types of enemies, and each other. Like the wars on earth, Corey found the song to perfectly represent what the third arc of the game was going to bring. He related it to his internal struggles with himself and his identity. Like he was clashing against a familiar foe. "Yes, a travel song. The kind you sing on road trips, just to keep everyone from being bored.""I don't sing.""Neither do I." E

The tall buildings, busy highways, and messy- yet glamourous- streets. He couldn't wait for them to make their stop. Not only was he hungry for food, but he starving for the calling of a challenge. He could sense the trap before he woke up, and NewAge provided him with no warning. That was the worst of it all. His stomach clenched, buckled with the tight feeling of despair slipping through the cracks of his chest. Something was here. An enemy that had put his system on hold. How was that possible? Corey shoved himself out of bed. Rushing towards the door of the bedroom, his fingers barely grazed the doorknob before it flew open. Scratching his nose as he ducked out of the way. Dear readers,I would just like to say thank you to thank everyone who has read this story so far. It's my first time writing a male leading story, and I'm not sure I did it right but I hope to get it perfectly some day. But this note isn't to tell you thank you, I also wanted to inform you that starting next month I will be taking a full month's hiatus from this story. It's not going the way I planned, reader wise. And I'd like a break from it to get my head cleared and gather some new ideas. I'll publish some chapters for the rest of the month. But after that, I'll be off on a break to return by June. Thank you for reading this note. And have a good day..

190: Impressed by the best gamer

Taking a break was not something Corey wanted to do but he had no clue if taking another quest would benefit him at the moment. Likely because he was feeling the urge to be lazy. But where was the fun in that. Corey tapped his friend Toby while he slept. He seemed stressed, and on his screen was a failed level to a part of Clash of Thunder that Corey assumed they must have added in after he died. And apparently Toby was having issues with finishing it. Corey pulled out his chair from under the desk, plopped down on it. He pulled the headphones over his ears, and clicked on the replay on the screen. He wasn't adjusted to the set that Toby used for his gaming. But a quick two minute scan, and Corey knew where to keep his hands without having to remove his eyes from the screen ever. He sat feeling the old school joy he would normally get whenever he got home from school and settled behind his desk to play his favorite games. Or just to stream. Sometimes, he didn't even stream, he just

The new additions to the group were still on Corey's mind as he navigated through the lobby of a deserted and destroyed space ship. Dressed in a black suit to keep his oxygen from running out. His objective was to fix the ship, keep the oxygen and find out who the imposters were. There were a total of three that Corey had to search for. So he asked the women to all join in. Toby even agreed, he wanted a way to test out his alien form. No doubt so he could attack Corey, and the teen more than welcomed it. He was easy to intrigue sometimes. And for the rare occasion, rare but consistent, what should have intrigued Corey instead bored him.He took slow strides through the lobbies with Alisha by his side. She really had no complaints to joining his harem and Corey was slowly getting to know her personality. Almost like he was still getting to know Clio. He'd gone from trying to think of a way to get himself a girlfriend to married to an orc dude that threatened to kill him if he ever left him. And he could tell Corey was secretly laughing at his predicament. No matter how many times he tried to act sympathic and sorry. It was clear to Toby that his friend was having a good laugh out of this. "If you're truly sorry, you'd use your powers to get me out of this.""Yeah, but the king would be so sad." Toby tossed his pillow at Corey. The teen didn't bother blocking it. He fell on his back then began cackling. The missile was fast and Corey found that he could still laugh with his broken sense of humor in such a situation. Misha turned to him, incredilous expression on her face. Then she loosened up and laughed. As if on cue, Corey got a message from Borba. He teleported her to their position. She whipped around to see the missile before she could even greet Corey and tell him her brother was inviting him to enjoy an orc festival. She heard the coy laughter coming from Corey and Misha. Borba flung her mace at the missile. The wind blew against her skin as the weapon struck the tip of the sharp war missile. Making it explode. Her weapon flew back, and she caught it. Laughing curiously at the pretty site. She turned around and Corey looked in awe. From the background, it looked like a scene from an action movie. With the explosion in the sky, pieces of metal flying about. And Borba walking towards him. The wind in her hair, a smirk on her face. Corey wanted to snap a picture but all he did

They'd found a place for Corey to fix Misha's button. Corey was intrigued, and he was never one to really hide his fascination from himself. If he wanted to study something he would admit that much to himself. Because the man kept him intrigued and on his toes. He wanted to know more. But Corey knew he would never find anything about the lock keeper without some help. Which was disappointing. It was still strange referring to an unknown force as the lock keeper, instead of the man he'd once known to be that. Erogo was just Erogo. Self centered and easily blinded by words. Corey went to bed almost too easily. Sometimes his mind and body surprised him. After what he'd seen, the question of how he could still sleep well was insane. Corey sat his father down in Greta's den where the dragon was peacefully taking a nice nap. She had woken up briefly to sniff Corey's hand, and give his full body a lick with her long rough tongue. Corey had dried himself off the saliva and proceeded to walk circles around his father. He was watching the man as he tensed in the chair. Between the mighty dragon and a powerful kid that he knew was about to do something horrible to him. So he hissed, "Do you worst. I'll never talk."Corey laughed at the irony hidden in those words. "But I haven't even said anything, you're the one talking." His father tensed even more, and Corey was having too much fun making a fool out of the man. But how he could he not have fun? Corey knelt by his father's feet, and his eyes started to glow in a way that was nearly blinding. His father blinked severally and tried to process what he was seeing. Then his eyes rolled, in the most painful way possible. He wasn't given the opportunity to scream. Corey w
