151: Restoring toby

There were a few situations where Corey's head has frozen because he couldn't process what he was seeing and this was undoubtedly one of them. Corey stepped towards the creature, not believing it could be his friend. But it had his friends eyes. And Corey had a really good memory. Every detailed piece of a person was stored in his brain like a catalog. He remembered the eyes, but the rest was definitely sentient. Which meant Toby no longer existed. There was no way Erogo would have such incompetent people. How can you fail at the simplest of jobs?

Reprogramming a brain. In the human terms they called it manipulation.

Corey took another step and the sentient backed up.

That got his attention. Maybe he was wrong and the creature could actually had Toby's mindset. That would mean the woman on the recorder failed at deleting his emotions.

The creature turned, and lumbered off. Corey was left standing, watching the empty trail.
