Blaming Juno wasn't ideal but that wasn't the point. If he hadn't given her those orders, she wouldn't have thought it was a good idea to burn down the library.

But mostly, she was pissed at Corey and blaming him for her troubles. He was the one. The one they had written prophecies and stories about. And Iriel wanted blood. She would do the ritual herself if she didn't need Liu Zing's seal to complete it. She caught up to Coreyz he was going up a hill to where the old lady lived.

"Corey!" Iriel shouted.

He hummed, not turning once to look at him. Her tentacle lashed out without thinking and Corey grabbed it. The spark of electricity that hit him felt like a pinch to his skin. A major difference from the first time he had felt those shocks.

The deaths had all been painful but Corey was still proud of his victory over her. Without her knowledge, and while she struggled to remove her tentacle from his hand, Corey removed his mark on her.

So if she died, she was just going to be dead.
