The fact that my next target had a boyfriend and I was supposed to go off with her after dealing with Alice bothered me greatly. I could not understand right now if this was just a set up tease by the system to get me to die an epic death. Alice was more bothered by the fact that I had wiped my mouth with my hand after she had kissed me. I decided to play defensive as I needed to regroup and plot my breakthrough from this. He turned to his new target and observed her dampened mood."Could you give me a minute, I need to take care of something." He said to her.She looked him over."Sure." He felt a sudden rush of anger knowing he would be broke all thanks to her but he had decided not to bother about it. He forced a smile on his face and did a quick rethink. He groaned heavily as he woke up to his alarm that morning. The damned thing was never his friend as it was a reminder of his pains but wait, did he just say pain? He thought as he sat up quickly. What pain would he feel when he's got such a hot sum sitting in his bank account. He could do anything right now and never regret it. He grabbed his phone quickly to make certain that it was still there and he had not been imagining things. It was there indeed and Kevin flipped over on the bed in excitement.It was time to get ready for school and perhaps later, he would see his new target. He knew by then, the system would have spoken to him yet again. Yes, finally he was beginning to enjoy the entire program and had made peace with it as he hoped that he would progress further. Class was not going down well with him as it would seem like the entire world was put on slow motion. This would have to pass out as the longest day in the history of mankind for Kevin as he spent each time staring at the wall clock. He would occasionally find himself looking in that direction and it took him three turns to realize that the clock was at the same spot as always. His mind had been too caught up with his thoughts to notice and now he did, he could not let it go. Kevin raised his hand and the science teacher that had been blabbing away looked at his direction."What is it, Kevin?" She asked him."I think the clock is not working." He said to her."Oh I see. His mind was doing a long race as he tried to think of a way to wriggle himself out of the situation. His eyes glanced around and he could not figure out what to do exactly. Suddenly, a bright idea crossed his mind that just might be his way out and he put it into work."I don't know what you want, Mickey." He stated mustering up a little bit of boldness."And there's the not so fun Kevin. Could you switch back to the old Kevin? He seems to understand the situation better." He said to Kevin."Old Kevin? At least, they did keep their word and assisted him get out of school. Kevin was really wowed and now it was time to get to Melissa but just then, he realized something that probably would be the biggest set back he had faced in all his time on earth. Whilst he had been playing the romantic saviour to the girl, he had forgotten to get her phone number which if you ask me would make all this stress and hassles of sneaking out of school really futile. To think that he had been thrown over the school fence for this and had nearly been caught by the barbed wire. He could not think of anything else to do and time was no longer on his side. Quickly, he boarded a cab home as he could not go looking how he did now, all rumpled and ruffled thanks to his flight downwards. He promised himself that he most certainly would not undertake such a risk ever again, unless of course if the system puts him in such position that he could not help but undergo risks. The next cab he flagged and he handed the man the address. It was not so far away a drive and if it had been on one of his less hasty days where he knew the address, he might have trekked to the place. It was actually a coffee shop just around the corner and Kevin was confused as to whether the old lady had pulled off a fast one on him. If Melissa had come to a coffee shop, what has that got to do with her wrecking homes or whatever she had been saying. He had actually been expecting an inn or a hotel to say the least because no way would anyone be comfortable at such a place. He decided that he would go inside and see for himself what it was that the woman had been trying to point out and also, get an opportunity to complete his task.There were two entrances and Kevin decided to enter through the one closest to him in hopes that she would not see him enter and then think that he was stalking her.
