CHAPTER SEVEN

"Well, well, well... what have we here? If it's not sissy Kevin." the irritating guy began.

Kevin had not expected that the object of his humiliation would still haunt him after the video upload. He was not in the mood to entertain his troubles at the moment. All he had wanted was so he could complete yet another task given to him by the system and see if he would get another opportunity at picking a gift again. This was merely the second level and he would very much rather that he does not accustom blockages. Not even ones that looked like his ex girlfriend's hooker. He faced him now and the young man started laughing.

"Listen, I don't want any trouble." Kevin said.

"Oh, the sissy has grown balls and now talks back." he yelled and everyone started laughing.

"Yeah, whatever you say but leave me alone." Kevin said to him.

"And you think I would do that because he simply asked? You should have known better." Mickey said to him.

Kevin stood there seeking for the right words to tell him when Mickey began taunting him for even daring to return to the school. According to him, if he had been in Kevin's shoes, he sure as hell would be swimming in the bottom of a canal now motionless. Obviously, he meant that Kevin should have committed suicide rather than returning to school. The entire school seemed to be on the side of his tormentor. Kevin looked around for even a tiny bit of support for him but instead they all stood there. Some even had their phones out and Kevin sighed heavily. They could have been better than acting this way towards him. He sighed as he glanced around at them before looking back at Mickey.

"It's none of your business whatever I choose to do," he said.

"Oh but it is my business now, sissy boy. Tell me, did you miss being a sissy so much that you had to come back here or perhaps you seek another master?" he asked Kevin.

"Like I said, it's none of your business. All of you!!! I am so done listening and talking to any of you. You lot, you are all the same." Kevin was yelling.

He could not take it anymore as he quickly swung around to walk away. He might have gotten away when the system began again with the skill requirement.

"To proceed properly with this level, the host must get to a date with the college beauty and acquire the skills of dancing. Failure to accomplish this task attracts the ultimate price." it said.

"Seriously?" he said softly.

"Start by presenting chocolates to your target." it suggested or maybe instructed.

One could merely take a little guess at the expression on his face when he heard those words. How he wanted to leave quickly but then he paused as he started thinking. He turned around once more but was not looking at Mickey anymore. He saw now that his target was standing with his ex girlfriend and a bright idea crossed his mind.

The bell had to be the interruption that he had not quite been expecting but he was not complaining as they all started their classes rounds. He could not wait for the classes to be over and seemed clearly distracted during classes. The lecturers had noticed his aloofness as they termed it. One even called him afterwards and suggested he goes to see the guidance counselor. He understood their fears and worries as to them, it was weird that their star nerd was slipping away. Usually, he was the one who paid them attention while the others continued with their gimmicks.

Kevin reassured them all that he was absolutely fine and was merely overly excited that he was at school. When asked what had happened to his face, he said that he had fallen. Eventually, it was time for their lunch and he ran straight to the canteen. Kevin ordered chocolates and paid as he still had enough money. Next he cleared his throat as he spotted his target. She was with her cousin and other friends as they all engaged in whatever girly discussion they were occupied with. Kevin cleared his throat as he began strutting over. He tried to seem a little manly but with the stares he was getting, he knew he was being awkward.

Well, he did make it to her table and then he stood, clearing his throat to get their attention.

"Oh Kevin, it is you. How have you been since that night?" Vanessa was asking him.

He felt shaky in the knees as well as felt the urge and need to beg her for another chance. Hell no, why would he when he was the victim here. He cleared his throat.

"Hi." he said, focusing his gaze now on her cousin.

"Hi Kevin." she said to him.

"Alice, that's your name. I remember." he said but was finding composure very tough at the moment.

"It is Alice. And I'm sorry about whatever that happened between you all." she said, glancing at her sister.

"Actually I..." he began.

"Hey babe." It was Mickey sliding into the free seat with his lunch and kissing Vanessa on the cheek. The way she responded by rubbing her cheek and leaning into him made Kevin enraged.

"Here," he said, giving the chocolate to Alice.

"Thanks so much. How did you know I love chocolates?" She cooed in a way that said she was not at all impressed but simply to avoid hurting his feelings, she was accepting it.

"You're welcome. Alice, I have a request. Would you grant it?" he asked.

"Now this had better be good." Mickey muttered.

"Please go with me on a date." Kevin said quickly.

For a split moment, there was domineering silence and then both Vanessa and Mickey started laughing loudly. It was so loud and so awkward that Kevin was wondering what exactly he had done to this duo. He waited until they were finished. But they jumped into the discussion.

"And where do you propose taking her, on a water date in one of your cheap restaurants?" Vanessa asked him, causing him to feel pained.

She was now using the good days they had together against him all in bid to make him feel pained. It hurt him really but not today.

"Oh I get it, perhaps to the swing at the park." Mickey said his part breeding more laughter.

"Neither. I was hoping to take her on a coffee date at the seven star hotel after school." Kevin said.

Gasps followed and then Vanessa stood up and walked up to him. She squinted her eyes like she was contemplating.

"And how do you intend to pay? You want to mock my sister or something?" she demanded.

"I bought her those chocolates. All I need is her reply. What say you, Alice?" he asked looking over Vanessa.

"Are you sure?" Alice asked.

"Absolutely." Kevin said.

"Then yes, I would go on this date with you." she said.

"Perfect." Kevin said and started walking away. There were mutterings here and there. Someone muttered that it was a case of beauty and the beast but then, he cared less. She had said yes.
