What had Sid done? Eren stared in shock as the force field closed, trapping the students and William Winchester inside. The intruders began attacking the students, and they seemed to gain the upper hand. “We're failing.” One of the students said in a panic. “Let's keep fighting!” Another student advised. However, even with their skills, the intruders were closing in on them. The students weren’t as strong and equipped as the attackers. Motivated by Eren, Gaine erupted with lightning sparks and leaped towards the skyscraper, heading straight to its topmost floor to help his grandfather. Eren, meanwhile, headed for the last floor, the lab where he had placed one of the bugs. “Come on," he urged Drake, who was still limping. They walked towards the elevator, and when they got into it, Eren pushed the last floor button. Drake groaned in pain, and Eren sighed. “You have to hold on, okay? This will end soon.” Eren said, trying to encourage Drake to be patient and stand strong. Soon, they reached the last floor and walked toward the lab as quickly as possible. Eren’s jaw dropped in shock as he stared at Silas unbelievably. He froze, looking dumbfoundedly as the man he’d known to be paralyzed limped towards what sat on the pedestal. Eren had learned a lot of things today, but this was the most shocking. So Silas wasn’t paralyzed. The professor had never been paralyzed. In a daze, Eren watched Silas climb the stairs one at a time, smiling. “Eren! Eren couldn’t move. Every single part of him seemed frozen where he stood. Not only was he watching Zachary bleed out beside his woman, but he also heard the professor’s evil laugh as the metals destroyed his protege. He could feel the rage growing inside him, making his fists tighten until it was difficult to breathe. His body trembled. His mind filled with rage. How could Silas do this? When Eren arrived at the topmost floor, he was shocked to see Gaine crying bitterly. The clan’s head, Solvane, was on the floor, lifeless. It wasn't what he expected. Yes, the battle was a tough one. They had to put in their best so that the school building would get back to normal, or at least, even better. “I can’t believe Sid betrayed us,” Tiana said while hammering nails into a wood. Eren sighed, still feeling hurt at his encounter with Sid. “Even Samantha and Trevor,” Tiana added, wiping back a sweat on her brow, “I can’t believe it.” “You have to,” Eren scoffed, “The flaming man must be their father.” While Tiana hammered the nails and became engrossed in her work, Eren stared numbly into space. He had lost interest in almost everything.
