“Gaine?” Drake couldn’t believe his eyes.

Eren was shocked, too. His body had tensed up, eyes wild with panic as he looked at Alice.

“Is this the person helping us? Or is this some trick? What are you—“ Eren started but stopped when Gaine stepped forward.

Drake snarled instantly. “Stand back!” He pointed at Gaine and Alice.

He stood up from the stool and pointed out, “If you are here to take me back to the devil you call your father, then prepare to meet your death.”

“My father is not the devil. I won’t have you insulting him.” Gaine seethed, but Drake ignored him. He continued, “After what I went through, there’s no way I’m gonna go through this without a fight.”

Gaine stepped closer again, ignoring Drake’s pointless command and threats.

He didn’t blame the boy.

If the situation were reversed, he’d be doing the same.

Drake had every reason to be wary of him. Eren too. He had Winchester blood, after all.
