Chapter 10: Combo Fighting

No sooner had the smoke faded than two black people approached Bruce and Zara. Both of them were shocked as they seemed to be surrounded. Bruce watched as Zara stood undaunted with a pointed gun in the air.

Bruce was amazed at the attitude shown by the applied maths teacher. Even though she was no longer an active officer, Zara still seemed to have a perfect posture.

But Bruce overcame his stupor when the two opponents raised their weapons. He realised that the situation could have been better. Bruce couldn't do much, as he didn't have any weapons, while Zara herself was also in the same besieged condition as him.

"Hey, man. Don't you have the heart to attack this school? We're all still students, your actions will surely cause a stir in the news soon, and the government will step in to crack down on you. So, how about you abandon the idea," Bruce said, trying to scare the two men dressed in black.

Bruce tried to disrupt their focus and buy time to think of a way to fight them. Bruce didn't want to be a burden and protected by others. He had already died once, so obviously, the threat of death was not what Bruce had to worry about right now.

RING!

System: "The user is given a mission to deal with a combo fight. The partner has been identified. Zara Christine will be the perfect partner."

Bruce instantly remembered that he had a system that he had already integrated with him. Even with his bare hands, he would not worry about facing the two men in front of him.

RING!

System: "Ready to play a game?"

Bruce was then surprised to hear the notification from the system. But he also had no choice at the moment. So Bruce mumbled briefly, a sign of agreement.

The system immediately analysed the terrain of the area, Bruce stood right behind Zara, and they covered each other's back.

"Bruce, when there is a code, you run away immediately," Zara whispered.

"I won't leave you alone. We'll face them together like officers," Bruce said firmly with a convincing aura.

Zara finally had no choice but to agree and follow Bruce's wishes. They would fight together against the two men dressed in black.

When they got close enough, Bruce heard a gunshot, indicating that Zara had just discharged the weapon she was holding. Since Bruce didn't want to lose momentum, he immediately threw his kick, thanks to the system's instructions.

Bruce's magic kick made the masked man's weapon bounce, but unfortunately, the shot from Zara didn't hit the masked man because he managed to dodge.

Not to be outdone by Bruce's action, Zara did something heroic and risky. Bruce watched as the applied maths teacher aggressively threw the gun in her hand at the masked man. As a result of the attack, the weapon she was wearing dislodged and fell to the ground.

As Bruce was mesmerised by Zara's actions, the man Bruce kicked unknowingly got up again and was about to attack him. But Zara, who saw this, immediately pulled Bruce's hand and threw herself into the air, so a kickback landed on the man's figure.

At the same time, Bruce pulled forward and saw that the other man was about to pick up the weapon that fell on the ground. Therefore, Bruce deftly made himself slip away until his foot kicked the gun.

Because of their proximity, Bruce, with the system's directive, elbowed the man back to the ground. An epic battle then ensued between them. Both Zara and Bruce dealt with their enemies very well.

"We did it, Mrs Christine," Bruce said with a smirk.

"Good job Bruce. It turns out you have a strong physique. Surprisingly I've never seen you like this. You look like a completely changed person," said a bemused Zara.

In the middle of their conversation, one of the lying men slowly aimed at Zara's firearm and quickly fired the bullet.

BANG!

The gunshot echoed, and suddenly Bruce saw fresh blood pouring out of Zara's body. She collapsed in Bruce's arms, but since Bruce wasn't ready to catch her body, Zara slowly fell to the ground.

"Mrs Christine, you have to hold on. I'll get you some help," said Bruce, who was starting to panic.

Bruce's first instinct was to cover Zara's bleeding marks, but before that, he ensured that the man who fired the gun lost consciousness. So Bruce came to kick him.

"Mrs Christine, you must be strong; I'll take you to the bunker. It's close enough," Bruce said with a perturbed expression.

"It's okay. Leave me here; you go and save yourself," Zara reassured Bruce.

After that, Bruce reluctantly left the area. He only put Zara in a corner where she could feel comfortable. The sound of gunshots continued to be heard, but Bruce didn't care anymore. Even though he was alone, he could still move around well, just like an officer.

When Bruce arrived at the bunker, Donna and some other students asked about Zara's whereabouts. But Bruce didn't answer; he just shook his head.

Amid that sad reverie, on the monitor screen that monitored the entire area of the school, Bruce and his friends saw two school buildings destroyed by a massive explosion. The students gathered there and then screamed, some even acting hysterically, while others could not believe what they had just seen.

Shortly after, an officer was seen entering the bunker. The soldier came with Bradford, who told the students to take refuge in the bunker.

"The conditions outside are quite chaotic. We need some capable students to be sent there. We must beat them back, whatever the conditions," Bradford said firmly.

The man seemed to lecture for a few moments, his words making the students who had been afraid now encouraged to be in the front row. Most of them even declared themselves willing to fight back. Therefore, they were asked to change the available space.

Now the students looked like soldiers because they were given entire attributes. Then a soldier beside Bradford also taught them how to use the rifle properly.

After the students were ready, they were all directed by the command to immediately exit the bunker. They had all been assigned their respective tasks by Bradford.

As they stepped out bravely, Bruce and the students were surprised by the people surrounding their bunker. Suddenly they all positioned their weapons in the air.

But the applause was heard instead as if the enemy was cheering them on. Bruce himself was confused by what was happening.

Until one of them opened his mouth, "Congratulations, you have completed this simulation well!"
