Nelson sat at the edge of the mesa, looking at the vast sandstone desert beneath with a forlorn expression.

He had just left the call that Eric initiated and he was waiting patiently for the quest Eric had told them about.

‘Can he really give quests? How special can this guy be?’

Nelson pondered as dry winds blew past him, causing his red hair to sway in it.

He soon saw a system screen pop up in front of him.

[[Quest from King_Noel to Imp_Mauler]]

[Quest Name: Conquer the Lizard of the Endless.]

[Quest Description: Sup Nel, I'll go straight to the point. The name of the place you're in is called the Desert of the Endless, sounds familiar yeah? Anyways, I don't know where you are currently but you'd have to make your way to a ruined desert temple and retrieve the core of the Lizard of the Endless. You need it to come to where I am. That's all you have to do. Also, don't look at the sky when the broken space shards start to align themselves rightly. This is the signal that day is brea

He didn't receive any response from his taunting shout, making him furrow his brows.“Ahhh…” Nelson groaned in frustration. “I don't want to enter that place though.”Nelson gritted his teeth and conjured a ball of flames.“Obby, lead the way.” Nelson looked back towards the black lizard behind him and put on a smile. The lizard let out a grunt and walked forward in a zigzag fashion like a proper reptile.Nelson grimaced and shook his head at the sight. He was never really fond of reptiles… not that he was afraid of them though. The interior of the temple was extremely dark and its sandstone walls were lined with murals, writings and strange symbols.Nelson, naturally, wasn't an inquisitive and curious person so he didn't bat an eye to the inscriptions on the wall.“Obby wait.” Nelson called out to the lizard. The fireball that illuminated the hallway, where they walked, tripled in number with one going forward and one going behind them.“Watch my six, Obby.” Nelson said, his tone gri

The two energy forms collided but of course the singularity had the upper hand. The massive car-sized black hole sucked both the white flames and its corresponding detonation and explosion into oblivion as the singularity continued on towards Nelson. He couldn't defend against a singularity but he could always avoid it.Nelson snapped his fingers causing a wisp of flames to instantly appear above the lizard and he disappeared in a flurry of flames, appearing above the lizard in another flurry of flames where the wisp had been.In that moment, he had achieved Pyroportation; the ability to teleport using flames. The singularity hit the chamber wall and ate through it as it continued its advance without impediments, leaving a large smooth hole in the wall. The entire temple shuddered as some pillars outside started to crack.Nelson kept himself afloat by projecting a jet of flames from his feet like a rocket boot would. The large lizard had turned its focus on to the smaller menace that

It was a rough fight and she used up a Full Recovery when she was almost down. Since then, she had been tagged with a curse, Omen of Wolves. The curse allowed wolf predators and wolf-like entities in the area to i

And it cost me a whopping 250 thousand gold to get so I hope you put up a good fight so I can use its enchantments on you all.” Amy said as she brandished her blade skillfully and lethally. She then remembered the swords information and shook her head, smiling.“You're in luck, Eric, to be very honest. Erica had found herself in a volcanic wasteland when she entered the rift. She hadn't used a lot of time when she was attacked by lava monsters, but thankfully they were low level. She also took over a den that belonged to the leader of these monsters, an Awakened Grade 4 abomination. Her trait was most especially useful in this place. She also recovered several items from the monster corpses and made use of the corpse to her full advantage, like using the flesh of the monsters as a form of grill that she used to cook the food items in her inventory.Currently, she was resting on a flat stone slab munching on a sack of potato chips with several of these lesser low level creatures running about doing the things she asked. She seemed to be watching a fight between two Awakened Grade 9 of these creatures duel it out. Their fight was interesting to watch, to say the least.Ever since she had subjugated their leader effortlessly as well as the heir of the leader and all the other rebelliou

Maric was atop the Ferrous Rat as it sped through the Desert of the Endless, a bored expression on his face. They would occasionally encounter the lizards that tried to attack them but the Ferrous Rat was just too fast for them to catch even at their full speed. He was observing the ambience of the desert and the chaotically shattered skies of the realm as the summon carried him in one direction, the direction of the Ancient Woods of Shayal'Teir. It was when the summon brought him out of the termite mountain that he saw the bizarrely beautiful skies of Shayal'Teir and the even more bizzare light that the cosmos emitted to the lands below. He had completed his own quest before the quest even came due to his thirst for growth and power and he also was now an Awakened Grade 1 entity. He found himself deep inside a clay mountain at the border of the Desert of the Endless, filled with termite-like creatures. Well, from a human’s perspective, it would be regarded as a mountain but it was ac

Erica had already averted her gaze, immediately she noticed the shuddering of a sky shard. The mountain chain was just about two kilometres away as the rat continued running like a frenzied beast. She could feel large tremors rocking the world as the heat around her intensified with each passing minute. Then after a while the feeling of danger passed away and she felt at ease. She perked through her fingers to see the dark red fiery eyes of the Ferrous Rat again and she immediately accessed her surroundings. The entire landscape was drowned in a blinding white light from the suns up above. It was day time properly now and there were no dangers in the areas around her.The sky was also bright blue and flawless with several clouds sparsely dotting its blue expanse. No signs of cracks or the dark-bright cosmic scene behind spatial shards. She was glad that the danger was over until she saw an analysis alert.[Analysis: An Ace Grade 1, Rejected Titan, is in the vicinity. He saw some weak creatures and decided to add them to his arsenal and one of them possessed three mystical rings, one of which Eric asked him to bring. One would expect the ring bearing monster to be strong but it was just an Awakened Grade 8. It was easily torn apart by one of the Wendigos under Chuck's command. After a while, Eric's quest came and immediately he accepted it, it was tagged completed that Eric had to personally video chat him to ask, “What the fawk?!”Asides that, he found a way to break into the vault and saw the corpse of an Awakened Grade 3 vault guardian. Matt, after dumping frag grenades into the forest haphazardly, proceeded to conjure several clones of himself and clad them all in a protective and flexible armour. Each clone wielded a futuristic rifle and they all numbered up to seven excluding the main body. One of the rewards he received from the system after the rift expedition was a Trait evolution from Armament Creation to Digital Constructs. This not only allowed him to conjure up otherworldly futuristic weapons but also digital clones, armours, shields and basically anything else. He's limited by his own imagination and mana reserves. The best thing about it was that mana wasn't expended to maintain his constructs. He only consumed mana when creating or fixing his constructs as the very existence of those constructs were free of charge. If he happened to dismiss any of his construct or if they happen to be destroyed, he will receive half or a quarter of the mana used to conjure that construct respectively. “I'm going to ne

The following day came very fast and they were all gathered at the mouth of the cave, all around Eric. “Let's not forget that there will be opportunities for duels and gangbangs in this event so it'll test your prowess and how well you know how to use your abilities. Afterall, everyone here is a pinnacle entity of the Awakened class.” Eric started addressing his people. “I'm counting on that duel of a thing. ‘Tis one of the reasons I'm doing this in the first place.” Nelson said with a smirk. “Of course it is.” Chuck mumbled under his breath with a somewhat exasperated expression. “Oh don't worry, Chuck. You're not my prime prey, you're just the subsidiary prey.” Nelson said, comforting him. “Doesn't matter, Eric warned us not to underestimate anyone though. I pray you underestimate me, Nelson.” Chuck said as his face adopted a soft yet grim smile. “You'd be in for a surprise too.” After he said this, he chuckled darkly for a few moments, garnering several looks from the te

“Is that supposed to even be possible? We haven't really consolidated our abilities ever since we were chased into the rift by that monster.” Eric stated with a soft smile and a raised finger. Everyone looked at Eric with suspicion and Nelson shook his head and sighed. “What do you have in mind, fodder?” He asked his friend. “I thought you said you wouldn't call him fodder again.” Chuck glanced at Nelson with a raised eyebrow. Nelson shot him a mean look causing Chuck to withdraw his gaze with a wry smile. “I propose that we have a free for all match, an all out duel with each other or some kind of capture the flag game with our powers being used.” Eric answered him with a smile. “What do you think? It's a way to let loose before something serious occurs again.” “I

“How's the hunt?” Erica asked the remaining members of the cohort that just arrived into the cave. “Futile. There are almost no animals or game in these woods.” Matt responded with frustration as he dismissed his shotgun construct, causing it to dissipate in a digital glitch-like manner. “Yeah, the forest was quite peaceful asides the occasional chirping of crickets and you know, normal forest ambiance.” Chuck added succinctly as he sat on a small rock and heaved a breath of relief. Chuck and Matt had gone out to search for food for the rest of the cohort while Maric and Mr. Baker went out to confirm where they were. “Nothing like I've seen before Eric.” Mr. Baker shook his head and sat down as he began recounting his scouting experience alongside Maric. Apparently they had gotten to land after the glacier and ocean current brought them here. And they got to this place on a misty night at the edge of a rocky cliff. “The forest on this part is quite normal, if I do say so myself.

  • Chapter 91: Exclusiveness

About two weeks had passed since the whole chaos of bounties ensued and the people now knew the consequences of their actions. The rewards of the bounties were automatically deducted from the one issuing the bounty, regardless of whether they had money or not. This has left many to be destitute in system currency and even many casually hunted. If one didn't know how to change appearance or hide from skills like Analysis and the likes, the hunted would not live a safe life. Following this development, as well, was the creation of several factions dedicated to bounty hunting and they have more or less ‘culled’ the useless bounties and claimed rewards for themselves, leaving the truly dangerous ones. Eric and co had finally reached land and it was a forest of some sorts, not too dense and not too sparse. They were currently residing in a cave, unsure of the next move they'll make. Amy and Nelson, especially Amy, were despondent about the fact that they lost something valuable that day

  • Chapter 90: Let The Chaos Reign

Everyone was adrift above a massive glacier, despondent and drained of all emotions and strength. There was an active ocean current propelling the glacier towards an unknown direction. Amy was still asleep and Nelson’s condition had stabilised due to his self-regeneration but it was still far from optimal. “What do we do now?” Chuck asked with a serious tone, seeing that Eric was just staring at the horizon where Jasmine and the man left for about six hours. “Cut it out, Necromancer. Let him process his thoughts and talk at his own leisure.” Matt refuted Chuck and shook his head. ‘He’s probably regretting keeping that girl alive back then.’ Matt mused internally before shaking his head. Countless moments of silence passed and Eric finally stirred, clenching his fists. The first light of day was just appearing from the horizon, painting it with a tint of surreal orange hues. Erica stood up from her spot on the glacier and walked towards her brother in hopes to get through to him.

That's Karma for you, you bastard!’ Eric cursed internally before cracking a smile. “Abyssal Aura huh?” The man gauged the stone in his hands briefly before stowing it away in his inventory. After a moment's deliberation, he smiled and said; “Given the fact that it's from you, King Noel, it is utterly valuable. And Theft never lies, this is the heaviest skill you have and by the looks of it, you haven't even used it yet.” He then chuckled and rambled on, “I presume it's what makes you you and it is greater than the Samsara inheritance you possess. My mission here is complete, I even had some bonuses as well.” ‘Yeah, keep d*ck-riding yourself. Theft just got scammed by a higher skill, I'm the MC, you bastard. I'm Him! Mr. Baker stretched his hands forward and encompassed the unconscious Amy in a forcefield bubble, quickly taking her away from the man’s presence. The man didn't bother stopping him because he had gotten what he wanted from her. Even if he wanted to stop them from taking her away, he might fail in doing so and it might prove fatal for him due to Eric's unstable state. “Is she alright?” Chuck came over and inspected her. Everyone also gathered around her in concern. Matt frowned his face and shook his head. “Although it's not Analysis, my Vital Vision is detecting an anomaly in her body. It's like a void or a vacuum in her essence-body.” Matt explained and deactivated his skill before adding succinctly. “Asides this, she's alive.” Erica pursed her lips, placing the back of her hand on her forehead. “She's… feverish.
