Gabe paid using the 50% coupon but gave the remaining 50% money and some more to the vendor and then returned to Mia with a little bit of a proud look.

“You probably paid extra,but why did you point toward me when you were talking with him?” Mia asked, adjusting her glasses.

“I told him my wife loved the cake and wanted more to surprise her family,” Gabe said. “The vendor was happy to make an exception.”
