CHAPTER 55

“Give me the key, Mia,” Cynthia asked for the car key.

“You want to go for a ride by yourself?” Mia asked.

“No. I just want to see the key,” she replied, and so Mia gave her the key. Cynthia got over the car after Mia and slid the key along the length of the car to ruin its appearance. She made sure nobody noticed it and then tossed the key to Mia. “That’s the best key I’ve ever seen.”

Mia just smiled and then they entered the house together, only to see many people gathered around a poker game. To her surprise, both Bart and Gabe were also playing the game. Cynthia went and stood behind Bart, who she had a bit of a feeling for, but at the same time, she also had an eye on Russell.

Mia didn’t know who she should stand behind. Bart was family, but Gabe was a good friend. Whom should she support?

Since Cynthia was behind Bart, and there was no one supporting Gabe, she went and stood behind him.
