CHAPTER 10:BELINDA

OLIVIA’S P.O.V

“Good morning” I greeted them as we went down to breakfast. “Good morning Liv, did you sleep well last night?” I was surprised that Austin was igniting conversation while the other two brothers just greeted me. “Not really, I barely got any sleep” they all broke their attention from their breakfast and focused on me. “And why is that?” Austin asked. “There was so much noise,” I said. “Oh yeah, sorry about that. We were watching a movie, we will remember to put the volume lower next time” I knew that Keith was just covering up, the movie room is not in the North wing! However, still exhausted from all the work that I had to do yesterday and not getting any sleep, I had no energy to debate this topic any further.

Today felt like Deja vu at the office. We entered together with all eyes on us, he hugged her and I was left alone at my desk while they both went into his big, exclusive office.

At 10:30  he came back out, “Can you run into town and get me a coffee and someone sandwiches?” he asked. “Sure,” I said with a smile, I was more than happy to leave my desk and run him an errand. “Good, can you drive?” he held up his keys. “Yeah, but are you sure that you want me to drive your car? I mean it is really expensive” I was nervous, what if this turns into a Murphy’s law day and something happens to his car, would he let me live? I doubt it. “As long as you come back alive, I don’t really care about anything else,” he said, taking me by surprise. One minute he cares, the next he doesn’t, honestly this guy is worse than a girl when she is on her period. “Don’t worry I will come back alive and return your car in a good condition” I said, taking the keys from him. “Oh and take Belinda with you. I think that there is some stuff that you girls need to talk about” he said, giving me a soft genuine smile. There we go! I knew it! There was something off about him being so sweet, but did it really have to be the worst thing ever? Running errands with Belinda…this is going to be a nightmare!

I sat in the waiting area, the building was quiet but everyone was busy. I heard her stiletto heels from a mile away as they clicked on the tiles. I remembered back home when I tried to use 6-inch heels but fell in my room as I took my first step with them. I missed home! I missed my life! I missed the freedom of being the boss's daughter, technically the future boss! Everything changed so quickly…in an instance, I lost it all. I lost all the respect that was given to me, I lost my title of being the rich girl, I lost my friends, I lost my boyfriend who I thought that I would marry and I had to leave the place that I used to call home! Seems like in a split second my life has turned from perfect to this…

“So are we going to leave the man to starve while you daydream the whole day or are we going to go out and get what he asked for?” Belinda asked in her annoying voice. “Sorry” I apologized, not wanting to get into an argument with her because that would only mean I have to speak to her more. Waking up from my seat, we both left the office and got into Austin’s car.

We drove for about 20 minutes and I could feel her heated gaze on me the entire time. “I can’t believe that he would let you drive his car?” she said, poison in her words. “Neither could I” I tried to be nice and converse with her. “Why? It’s not like you even know the Hunters. Especially Austin Hunter! You know nothing about him!” she said. “You aren’t wrong, I only met him a few days ago” I agreed with her only because I knew that it would irritate her more. She is trying to bother me, trying to upset me and make me lose my cool, but she has no idea who she is dealing with and I loved these type of games…I’m going to keep my cool and make her lose her mind!

“Do you even know how rich the Hunters are? They have about 10 of these kind of sports cars” she said, admiring her nails, finally taking her gaze off me. “Actually it’s 12. A dozen to be approximate” I said with a smile on my face as she stopped admiring her nails and turned her attention towards me in shock. “How do you know?” she asked. “I live with them” I answered, loving the fact that she was getting more and more irritated by the minute. I know it’s mean but I finally felt like I have some kind of power again like I had back in New York, Belinda’s emotions were dancing in my hands and I was controlling her feelings like a puppet. “You live with them?” she asked, probably thinking that she heard me incorrectly. “Yeah, I live with the Hunter brothers in their big house/palace named Stermyertina, which is located in a town called Stermyer, which is about an hour away from the office,” I said, I could feel her rage as she sat beside me. Luckily I was the one driving or she would have probably crashed the car by now with shock and anger. “Well, of course, you do,” she said, suddenly seeming unbothered by it. “What do you mean?” I asked, is the game over? I don’t know what’s going on. Am I still in power of what? “You are his and he is yours. Of course, he would want you close to him, that’s the kind of person he is” she said. “Okay Belinda I know that you don’t like me and I know that you were trying to make me upset but right now I really don’t know what on Earth you are talking about? Who are you even talking about? Is it Austin?” I asked, my eyebrows furrowed with confusion as I drove. “Yes, Austin! You can’t honestly be that naïve. Who else would I be talking about? You are so lucky...to be honest I thought that you didn’t exist. I thought that you were probably dead or something since he has entered 31 and hasn’t found you yet and that, Olivia, gave me hope! It made me think that I had a chance with him! It made me let down my walls and give my entire self to him” she said. “You are funny, just yesterday morning Austin said that he wished that I didn’t exist” I laughed…“Wait, so it’s true that you and Austin are dating?” I asked as I thought further about it. “No, we aren’t. Well, I wanted to but he kept on making excuses, saying that he needs more time or that he isn’t ready for a relationship, etc” she explained. “So you and Austin are not dating?” I asked, making sure that I understood that there is a high possibility that he might be single. “No, not dating…just f******,” she said boldly. “Okay wow! And you want me out of the picture?” I asked, trying to figure out why she is telling me all of this. “Yes, but that’s not possible,” she said. “Why?” I was confused. “Because he is yours and you are his” she repeated those words. “I don’t know what you mean by that and yes, I do find Austin very attractive. To be honest, I wanted him and I still do, but I know better than to break a relationship. Even though you guys aren’t in a relationship as yet, you said that there is potential for a relationship and as much as I want him, I would rather die than get in the way of that. Besides I am nothing more than his secretary” I explained.  “Wow, he was right about you! You really are naïve. Don’t you get it, Austin wants you! He loves you! He wants to be with you and no one else!” her words made me pull off at the side of the road. “Wait! What? What are you talking about? Austin doesn’t love me!” I said, looking at her I saw her watery eyes. She was serious about what she was saying and I was beginning to feel really bad. “He does Olivia, I feel it. He always wanted you and it all makes sense now why he didn’t want to get into a relationship with me…it because he could sense that you exist and that you are somewhere in this world.” She said. “I don’t understand you, people, I just move to Stermyer and you guys act like a bomb exploded or something. I am just one person and it’s like your whole life is falling apart, no wonder no one is allowed to move into Stermyer” I said, turning the key and heading back on the road. “You would understand in time Olivia, Austin will explain it to you, just like how he explained all of this to me and asked me for my resignation letter” I swerved at the shock of her words. “What? You are resigning? Because of me?” I asked. This game was not fun. I didn’t like it. I didn’t like to see someone hurt because it hurt me. “Not really, because Austin asked me to. He wants to be faithful to you” she said. “What? Belinda, Austin and I are not even in a relationship!” I raised my voice, trying to make it clear to her. “That might change soon, but there is a lot that he is dealing with. He can’t accept you so easily, some people in his life won’t allow it” she spoke in another riddle. “Okay, so what are you going to do now?” I asked, changing the topic not wanting to talk anymore about the illusions in her head.

“Get another job,” she said. “And with your romantic life?” I asked. “That’s over now,” she said, sniffing. “There are a lot of other men out there Belinda” I tried to encourage her and make her feel better. “My mate already rejected me in respect to the Alpha…everyone knew that I was with him,” she said. “You are really delusional, aren’t you? Mate? Reject? Alpha? Are we talking Teenwolf here?” I asked. “Nevermind, just drive,” she said and I was more than happy to do that.

I couldn’t wrap my head around it…what on Earth was Belinda going on about? It can’t be true that Austin loves me, he doesn’t show any affection towards me at all! Unless he just made all of that up to get rid of her! Yes…that could be it, he is probably using me as an excuse to shake her off him!!! Wait…does that mean I stand a chance with him? After all, he did see me appropriate enough to use as an excuse…
