Since they were smelling already and their skin was already peeling off when someone tried to lift them.

Adam suggested they add them to the pile of zombies outside.

That way, they could burn the pile at once.

"We have tempted fate enough" he added.

Referring to the fact that they had been lucky not to have seen any beast yet.

It wouldn't do to deliberately invite them by leaving bodies everywhere in the open.

Especially since they do not know if the beasts were only around Alagan or if the effect that produced them had spread as far as Maradoit.

Nothing could be taken for granted.

So, as the men got started with the gruesome task of carting the bodies away, Adam collected the key from John.

After confirming with Ryan that it was the same key and that he was sure that he kept the key on the hook and nowhere else; Adam went to the stable building to see if it had been tampered with.

He wanted to go alone but the worried look on Mar
