Chp 44 - Of No Consequence

Adam could feel the moment he stepped into the centre.

His sharpened hearing could pick the difference in the vibrations of the whole centre.

It was as if the whole centre held its breath in anticipation.

Footsteps resounded down the hallway.

Then Adam heard a trembling voice from afar “I am sorry, young master. I thought it would work this time around. I…please give me another chance to try again”

The sound of something being dragged across the centre got closer seconds before the door crashed inward.

“Young master, please. I…”

A grunt followed as Carson was thrown hard against the floor.

He hit his face against the floor so hard that blood trailed from his mouth as he raised his head.

His wrinkled, white coat was stained with a spot of blood and his face looked like it had received a couple of punches already.
