CHAPTER 9:THE BATTERED PARTNER Jude had taken the next two days off to heal. After all, he couldn't get back to school with the way he looked. He had made sure to call the principal and let him know he wasn't coming for a few days. The principal had promptly cut the phone on him, even when he had said he would provide a medical report when he came into work. He had gotten Brady to get him a couple of shirts and official pant trousers so he could have appropriate attire for work. Chapter Jude walked out of the company with secretary Jin who had offered to drop him off at the hospital. Jude politely rejected his offer saying he could go on his own. Hailing a cab, Jude got in and went off leaving secretary Jin behind who walked back into the company. Getting to the hospital, Jude got down, paid the driver and stood at the entrance of the hospital. He walked into the hospital and on getting inside, a lady with snacks and tea who was in a hurry bumped into Jude, the contents in her hand flying into the air. The tea spilled all over her clothes and a little on Jude's clothes. She turned towards Jude immediately, her face red. "How dare you, what's wrong with you? Can't you see? Didn't you see me coming?” She asked, her voice echoing in the room. She had drawn the attention of others who were also at the hospital, blaming Jude for bumping into her and asking him to apologize to her, that she could have fallen and hurt herself badly.
