CHAPTER 135

As expected Dalia walked down the stairs dressed and ready to leave. Trying to mask his suspicion, he casually asked,

"Where are you off to?"

Without hesitation, Dalia responded,

"I’m just going to see a friend." She kept her expression calm, almost dismissive, and mentioned a female friend from her social circle, knowing it would ease his curiosity. But Robert sensed something wasn't right; her answer was too quick, too polished. As she left, a strange intuition prompted him to follow her.

He kept a careful distance, watching as she drove across town, not in the direction of any friends he knew of, but instead toward a shady part of the city. Eventually, she pulled up to a secluded house. Robert watched as she knocked on the door, and a tall man with a rugged look opened it, welcoming her inside.

Inside, Dalia wasted no time getting to the point. She asked Yeager for his help in a dark, dangerous task—she wanted her son Albert to disappear. Yeager leaned back, amused by her request
