CHAPTER 174

Theodore had just finished a long day of meetings. He arrived home exhausted but with one thought on his mind Janelle. He had hardly seen her these past few days, consumed with family business and his plans to handle the remaining threats. But tonight, he was going to focus on her, give her the attention she deserved.

When he walked into the living room, he found Janelle sitting by the window, staring out at the view, her expression distant. The soft glow of the evening light made her look almost ethereal, but there was something in her demeanor that made him pause.

"Janelle?" he called gently, crossing the room toward her.

"You alright?" He asked.

She turned her head toward him, offering a small smile, though it didn't quite reach her eyes.

"Yeah, I’m fine," she replied, but Theodore could sense something was off.

He knelt in front of her, taking her hands into his, his concern growing.
