CHAPTER 3: THE DOCUMENT

The Oval Office at the White House became a bit chaotic when incumbent President of the United States, Payton Odom. After receiving the Pentagon called, his face became extremely uncomfortable.

Payton looked at his Senior Assistant and asked him: “I have something to ask you. What if our America is attacked again?"

Payton's Senior Assistant thought for a moment before quietly replying: “We'll stand up and respond well. But how do you know we might be attacked again?"

Payton smiled at the Senior Assistant and said quickly: “Maybe… I hope so too.”

After President Payton's words, suddenly, from outside, Secretary of Defense George Hawkins rushed in with a series of White House agents.

George bowed to Payton and said quickly: “The Department of Homeland Security has raised the alert to red. Flight LBNY013 has landed at Los Angeles airport. You need to enter the security vault immediately! We'll take you to the President's Emergency Operations Center."

President Payton looked at the Senior Assistant and said quickly: “Since when have I been so scared? Summon the Emergency Council for me. We have a lot to talk about.”

Secretary of Defense George Hawkins looked at President Payton and motioned for the agents to move quickly out of the Oval Office.

When the two entered the basement, George said to Payton in a relatively weak voice: "I understand what you mean, but I'm just trying to do my job well. And this is our national security process. I beg your pardon.”

President Payton's smile became much more distorted after Secretary George's words. He replied: "I understand you are just doing the right thing. Is there anything you want to tell me?”

The two of them walked quickly through the old tunnel with a lot of mechanical equipment and the suffocating, sudden lack of oxygen. This is the second time that President Payton has come here. The last time he only visited after begging a lot of the Departments of Homeland Security and the Department of Defense.

George smiled softly as the conference room door opened with a few familiar faces. He began to brief Payton about flight LBNY013 as the two entered the conference room.

The large screens were lit, and key leaders from agencies identified by the Department of Homeland Security were involved in flight LBNY013.

Secretary of Defense George Hawkins looked at the screen and said, “Does the CIA have any intelligence? Is there any organization claiming responsibility for flight LBNY013?”

A rather sharp-looking woman glanced at George on the big screen and answered his question somewhat cautiously: "Nothing has been sent to Langley yet. It looks like this was a spontaneous terrorist incident. Maybe we must wait for the CAAV to finish checking the plane before we can make an accurate forecast.”

Payton looked at everyone on the screen and said, “Don't make this flight another terrorist event. Let's settle it well before the information is clear. Let's hand this case over to LAPD, CDC, and FBI to handle. The CIA needs to gather information. If something unusual happens, the Department of Defense and the Department of Homeland Security should prepare the necessary procedures.”

“LAPD? CDC? FBI? What is he trying to do? I think they'll mess things up rather than deal with them." The woman immediately responded to President Payton, she completely disagreed with his decision, but others did.

They think the President's approach is highly appropriate because they need time to investigate before the public makes the case significant.

The meeting continued as soon as LAPD, CDC, and FBI representatives were present. The President directly directed the handling of the case of flight LBNY013 to the anger of the CIA representative.

Meanwhile, at the store where Daniel had just left, the middle-aged man still holding a shotgun pointed toward the store employees, who were sprawled in a pool of blood with bullet holes in their chests. An entire corner of the shop was covered in blood, glowing red under the dim yellow light.

The man went into the management room, quickly pulled out the security camera data drive, and then walked out to look at the chair Daniel used to sit in. He went to pick up the document and gritted his teeth. He left the store without forgetting to close the door forcefully.

The man sat in the car, took the laptop, and inserted the data disc into the drive slot. The images appeared quickly, and Daniel Lopes' thin, somewhat sluggish, bored figure caught his attention. He was sprawled on the table, letting his long hair fall loosely.

He studied Daniel Lopes intently and was puzzled by Daniel Lopes despite his usual exit from the store and the fact that the brochure received little attention from him. He remained silent, looking at the laptop screen, typing a few times, trying to look closely at the screen, and then smiling.

He raised his eyebrows, pointing directly at Daniel's back when he dropped his arms on the chair and then suddenly sat up and stared at his phone. He laughed: “He took the picture already? That's smart. Does he even know how to use the dead angle of the camera? He still took the picture without touching the document?"

He smiled and used a tissue to wipe the blood from his sleeve calmly as if nothing had happened. He immediately leaned back and closed his eyes, a mysterious smile on his lips as he heard a loud explosion coming from the shop.

The car glided quickly on the lane and then gradually sank into the glamor of the gray afternoon, forgetting in the distance a pair of eyes were following him.

Daniel Lopes from the back of the kiosk spotted flames rising in the store. He knew more than enough about what was going on inside. The police and firefighters appeared slowly, making him realize that they seemed to be deliberately creating favorable conditions to erase all traces of the culprit.

Daniel Lopes rushed home, dashing to his desk. Daniel Lopes began to study more closely the document he had photographed. The more he reads and ponders, the more Daniel realizes that recent news online and the contents of this document have a very close connection with each other. Daniel's eyes widened as if they were widening in terror.

How many conspiracy theories, whether dark or silly, are incorporated into Daniel's thoughts? But everything disappeared as soon as the phone suddenly rang. Daniel jerked awake completely from the mysterious dream that he had created himself.

Daniel Lopes picked up the phone when the screen showed the phone number of Naomi Williamson - the passionate and hot high school best friend that he dreamed of every night.

Daniel seemed to forget everything that had just happened and immediately grabbed the phone in a hurry. Naomi's voice hasn't changed after all these years, hot as a brewed chili sauce: "Hi Daniel, how are you?"

"Are you ok? I'm fine… very fine… excellent.” Daniel Lopes started stammering like a high school student right after his teacher caught him kissing in the classroom. On the other side of the phone, Naomi burst into laughter, getting straight to the point as always.

She asked him to meet and talk this evening. Daniel faintly heard a voice on the phone that was quite familiar, but he couldn't remember it at all.

Of course, Daniel didn't refuse, even though he didn't even look at the schedule for tonight. Daniel Lopes is once again fascinated by Naomi, just like his high school years - his dark times. Daniel Lopes dropped the phone, lay still on the bed, looked up at the ceiling, and sighed.

At that time, Daniel was a student with a bright future compared to others. Full Princeton, Harvard, and MIT scholarships are not enough to hold Daniel Lopes' broad thinking.

Yet just because of Naomi Williamson, he gave up the opportunity to go to Harvard with a full scholarship and a massive grant for his potential project.

However, just when Daniel Lopes seemed to have won Naomi's heart, she bluntly announced that she would forever only see him as a friend. Of course, that was like she was mercilessly kicking his ass.

Daniel Lopes, from the top, became a terrible idiot, a catastrophic failure of society. Harvard didn't give him a second chance. No one wants to invest in an 'emotional idiot'. And Daniel Lopes' life just slid like a cheap comedy.

Until Daniel finds joy in being a literary author, this job gives him a good income.

But to the family and friends around him, he is still just a rag trampled by a girl with full breasts and breasts named Naomi Williamson with shiny hair and a sunny smile like her face. California sky.

For all the past, Daniel Lopes still can't forget the beautiful feelings he has for Naomi Williamson.

Although it has been more than ten years, during all that time, he has always watched and helped her as a true friend.
