"I will not let you subject Sarah to such an act of mockery before the eyes of the public and much less that lecherous fool." James sneered angrily.
"Did you not see the news as you claimed to have? That man almost raped and defiled your daughter? Do you not care anything about that??"
He was on edge at this point, trying hard to understand what sort of irrational people he was currently speaking with.
"You have suddenly become the man of the hour, haven't you? You seem to have it all figured out. What happened to Sarah last night would not have been incandescent to the public, if you in your ardent desire to be useful had not jumped in at the time you did." Sarah's mother, Mrs Brown shot at him.
Her eyes lit with anger and hate as she ran her eyes over his frame.
"Ha," she scoffed at him. "I honestly wondered what my husband was thinking when he asked Sarah to settle for a low-rent husband when he could have gotten a classed one" She shook her head at him.
James' jaw hardened, his fist folded tightly over the can of Soda he held in his hand. He watched her quietly as she continued to speak.
Over time, he had learned to count from one to a hundred each time he was faced with extreme rage or a need to burst out before it was even necessary.
The counting helped him relax. He took a deep breath, and decided to try again, just to understand what was going on.
"What is the need for all these? Why does Sarah have to apologize to Peter Causey? The least you can do is make your string reasons clear" James said to her.
"What we choose to do with our own is none of your business, " Theodore said, but Mrs Brown raised a hand to stop him.
"Since you are so interested in knowing, because it seems we won't get anything done this way." She said to Theodore.
James raised his head at her, indicating that she had his full attention.
"The Brown family is facing extreme difficulties financially. In essence, we are broke,..."
"Mother..." Theodore tried to stop her, but she raised her hand again to silence him.
"If he can only understand that we can no longer afford his low rent services, then perhaps, he would be kind enough to sign the divorce documents, which will free your sister from this cursed marriage and set himself free from this slavery," she added with a smirk.
James' face contorted into a frown, his anger begining to border over his control again.
Mrs Brown did not fail to take notice of his facial expression, and it exhausted her greatly that he was being defiant and stubborn.
"This is not that hard, James! If you leave our daughter alone, then perhaps she can finally be of help to this family!" she said emphatically.
"By sending her off to the hands of rapists and sex traffickers like Peter Causey? How is that supposed to help?!" He yelled at her, as his temper rose uncontrollably.
"What is wrong with you people?! You have associates! People who can be of help to you in times like this, why dont you go to them?!" He asked becoming furious with her.
"Oh my goodness! Are you daft or just plain stupid, this boy?! You already sabotaged our form of help! Peter Causey WAS that associate, whom you decked and sent to the hospital. Fifty million dollars! And you threw that all away for a shot at being Mr. Superman!" Mrs Brown retorted fiercely.
"If you want to help Sarah and this family, then you would sign these damn papers and let her go! Set her free!" She yelled.
"So what? You can send her out to the wolves again? No! I won't do that!" James replied vehemently.
"I told you this fool would be a huge problem, we should have just gotten rid of him when we had the chance!" Theodore bellowed.
Thomas threw him a look, and Mrs Brown raised her hands again to silence him.
"You think you have a say in this family? You are nothing James Johnson but a flea under our skin. We do not need your service anymore, sign the papers and leave while I am still on my best self" she said to him with an unwavering gaze that was meant to be threatening.
Thomas watched her for a second, thinking of the perfect response amidst his fury, his eyes darted angrily from Mrs Brown to Theodore and back to her.
"You are a woman, Mrs. Brown, how do you look at yourself in the morning everytime you think of the evil you are willing to put your daughter through just to save your Family's reputation?" He asked through gritted teeth.
"How dare you speak to my mother like that?!" Theodore sparked with a start, moving forward towards him.
"What? I'm just telling the truth" James said, unmoved by his display of anger.
"The truth? The truth?! I'll show you the truth!" Theodore said. He placed both hands on James' chest, and applying a lot of force, he pushed at James' chest, shoving him backward.
Although he had not expected the action, James' feet had already been fastened to the ground, as was one of his strengths. Thus, his stamina withstood the force and broke his movements backward.
This infuriated Theodore, and he ventured in for another punch but Mrs Brown stopped him.
"Enough Theodore!" Mrs Brown bellowed.
"No! I will teach this nobody a lesson and place him in his rightful position!" Theodore yelled out.
James clenched and unclenched his jaw, he chewed at the cord in his gum to withhold himself from retaliating as he should have.
"I would advise that you do not repeat that act, for the sake of your ability to still walk out of here," he said tightening his grip around the can in his hand.
"Bastard, that is what you are! Why should I expect a motherless animal like you to know how to respect women?!"Theodore said.
"What?!" James pressed his fingers into the can, as his bloodshot veins filled his eyes. The force of his fingers digging into the soda can increased, and that made it burst and pop with a loud noise, spilling its contents everywhere.
Sarah stood at the top of the stairs watching them with a startled expression on her face. Her eyes darted from her brother and Mother to James' stiffened frame. She caught the spilled soda on the floor, and the crushed can in his hand.Taking the steps, two at a time, she rushed over to her Mother's side.." what is going on here?" She asked with a livid look on her face."You can ask this fool you are married to! He attacked us first! He had the guts to insult our mother simply because she insisted that you deserve better", Theodore replied first.Sarah assessed the room again, her gaze landing on Thomas, she caught his bloodshot eyes, and the can in his hand for the second time. Her eyes widened in realization, as she took for word exactly what her older brother said."Is that what this has resorted to? Do you now insult my parents? How dare you, James Johnson?!" She yelled at him furiously.James stared at her, his bloodshot eyes staring on in disbelief."Who gave you the right to
The Doctor gently placed the plaster over his nose, after dabbing away the excess blood with a cotton swab. Peter Causey used the mirror handed to him to access his newly reconstructed nose. The bruises from his fight with James had distorted his face to an almost unrecognizable state, yet, the Doctor had said he would heal fast enough if he stuck to his daily medication religiously.Causey's face contorted into a ferocious expression, a vicious growl escaped his throat as he continues to assess his injury. He was more determined to deal with Sarah Brown for the shame and disgrace she had brought upon him."You are free to leave anytime you want, Mr. Causey, but I would suggest maximum rest, and stay away from tedious activities, especially ones that would end in a fight" the Doctor advised."You should do more formal education than sit in the practical field, Doctor Greg. How about you send a nanny to do the babysitting?" Peter Causey said to his friend and personal Doctor, Greg Hami
Sarah walked outside the Mansion, out to the garden where she dialed back the number she had spoken to earlier within the mansion. It was the Manager of United Bank, Mr. Derrick Jones." I am sorry, Miss Brown but there is absolutely nothing I can do to help you or Capitalize Escort anymore." Mr. Derrick's deep voice said over the phone."How on earth is that even possible? What did we do to make you change your mind so suddenly? We agreed to get the loan agreement signed tomorrow. You know how much this means to us and how much we need to save our company from winding down." Sarah pleaded.Mr. Derrick listened to Sarah's pleaful tone while he drank from a bottle of wine. He knew how these people were."I can not do business with anybody who goes around harassing innocent businessmen like Mr. Peter Causey. I mean, he is such a respectable person." Mr. Derrick said, taking a bite from a lap of fried chicken on a plate his front."He tried to rape me! He drugged me! Mr. Peter Causey is j
The line connected, and red-manicured fingers wrapped around the pearl-white telecom phone. She lifted the phone to her ear as her sexy voice sounded into the phone."Hello," she said."Anna, hi, it's James Johnson" his strong, baritone voice sounded over the phone."Wow, James's" she pronounced his name in an alluring manner."It has been a long time since I last heard from you. How have you been?" She asked as an interested smile spread across her full red lips, revealing pearly white teeth."I know, and I am sorry about that. I will explain things better when we see." James replied. He pressed the phone closer to his ears as he spoke. He stood outside the hotel where he was lodged with Sarah. He knew she had gone to the office, and that gave him enough time to sort something out."Well, you know where to find me, yes, I am still in the country, and yes, at Common Bank, and I am sure you are aware of that" Anna voiced into the phone."Alright, I will make my way over there as soon a
"This is ridiculous! You can't be seriously raising your voice in an establishment like this!" The receptionist opened her mouth in distasteful awe."I bet you you will have your job to serve for this ridiculous behavior!" James said, pointing a finger at her."Oh you think you can threaten me, a low breed someone like you are threatening me!" The receptionist was now raising her voice above normal tempo."It is animals and cowards like you who make the best of us seem bad! Get out of this place now!""I am not leaving! You have no idea who you are speaking to" James said turning away from her."I am warning you now Mister this is not a shelter for paupers. The notice says it clearly if you have no business with the bank, then you are not welcome!" She read it out loud furiously."I have business with the bank!" James was trying to stay calm, even though he had already lost it once or twice."No, you do not! You do not!" The receptionist confronted me."Please get out! Now!" She conti
"I am extremely sorry for this, Miss Anna. I had not known that he was indeed an important guest of yours. I thought he was actually just causing a nuisance. I mean, look at him, anyone would think he was not here for serious business." Mr. Edwin apologised."It was just a misunderstanding. I am sorry" he said to her"To think that you had come to seek a loan from the bank, Mr. Edwin? You of all people, need not discriminate or throw shades at anyone simoly because you are well dressed, and can afford a suit from the last two seasons Fashion week's collection " Anna said sneeringly. She glared at him as he cowered now, bowing his head humbly."I am really sorry, Miss Anna. I know it was wrong of me. I am sorry, really sorry." He pleaded with her."I know you are, and so am I. I am sorry that I cannot do business with you or your family anymore. Please kindly leave the premises before I ask the same Security personnels you called to see you out." She threatened him."Miss Anna please.
Anna listened to James explain everything, from Sarah's company's problems to the issue they had with Peter Causey."He even went ahead to stop the United Bank from having anything to do with Capitalize Escort. He has hands in the bank and so, the Manager refused to hand the loan over to her. Now everything is Kind of frozen. I need you to help me out on this one, and issue a loan out to Capitalize Escort " he said."How much are we talking about here?" Anna asked looking at him seriously."We need at least fifty million dollars to get her business off the ground again. But I want you to offer her more than that. Fifty million dollars might just clear them if the debts they are in, but I need Sarah to sti have some money left to get the Company running again." James explained to her."I see, well, a hundred million dollars should do for that. But as you know, I do not have a sole veto to issue out that kind of money, James." She said to him."I know" James sighed and shook his head. I
"So, what did your grand father say?" Anna asked James"What does he have to say? Nothing new. He wants me to come home" James replied."You know you can't hate him forever" Anna whispered to James."I don't hate him, Anna. I just blame him for what happened. They are two different things." James replied."I understand and I just feel like maybe you are being too hard on him. He is much older now than he was when everything happened. If you ask me, I would say it is worth handling maturedly this time." She suggested."I don't know about that, Anna. He may have been able to force me to sign the inheritance papers, but that is as far as it gets" James replied.Ann sighed and patted his shoulder. "This is all for the best." She said to him."Yeah, Sarah is more important to me right now." James said stiffly."Well, Congratulations once again. This is everything that you need to make your life different." She commented."Yeah" he replied with a nod. "But hey...""I still wish to keep my i
