Alastair gasped as he opened his eyes. He was surprised that the journey back from the ethereal realm did not take as long as he has suspected. He groaned as he suddenly started feeling a terrible headache. The aftermath of visiting that terrible place was always the same."Easy, you're alright. Stay still." He heard Miranda say to him. Alastair was still on the ground as he tried to process what had happened. The room was already crawling with mages and guards by that time and when he looked around for Drax, he could not see him."Where is Drax? Where's Cara?" Alastair walked towards the catacombs with Drax by his side. The catacombs were unusually dark at that time, and though it was just morning, it seemed like it was night time. Alastair and Drax descended down the staircase and on each step they took, the torches on the wall lit up. Drax wondered where they were at the moment, and he could not understand how a place which seemed to be so calm and serene hold so many secrets.Alastair slowly guilded his hand and touched a brick on the wall and another passage opened within the walls. Alastair stood before the cube with so many questions in his mind. He was as confused as the young man standing before him, Looking up to him for answers. Alastair stretched forth his hand towards the cube again and just like before, the cube thrummed.It vibrated and slowly elevated, filling the room with a light, at the same time sucking the energy in the room. But just like before, the cube fell after powering down. Alastair crunched and studied the cube carefully. There was nothing wrong with it. It had no cracks or anything of such. Alastair could tell that his efforts to find a suitable reason for the problem he was encountering were not forthcoming. He could not even focus on anything all through the day. Alastair slowly looked at the direction to which Miranda was pointing to. He was not sure what he would see there but he knew that whatever it was, it was enough to send shivers down her spine. He was certain that it was a ghost, or at least he suspected it was. But he had Never seen a ghost like that one before, and the uncertainty made him uncomfortable."What is that?" Miranda asked him, shaking with fear. What terrified her the most was the fact that the shadow stood still, not moving, not speaking, but menacing enough to show off a Stern warning with it's presence. "I think it is a ghost."
