The night after (1)

Alastair rolled to his side and sighed as he opened his eyes. It was daytime already, and he had not even heard the early bells which woke the residents in the Capital. Even after Corvius' attack, the bells still sounded, serving as a form of reminder that there was hope in the horizon, hope Which Alastair knew he had to provide.

He heard Miranda sigh beside him and watched as she mumbled in her sleep. She looked so beautiful even when she slept, a consequence of her perfect features. Miranda was a goddess in human flesh and her grace was getting more radiant by the passing second.

She mumbled again and opened her eyes, squinting them at first as she tried to adjust to the light. The first thing she saw was Alastair gazing at her, smiling with amusement. She blushed lightly like a little girl and smiled, still trying to get herself badj to normal.

"Good morning, Grand Mage." She said to him.

"Good morning, my queen. Is it just me, or is today especially different?" Alastair asked her
