Kabbus was in shock, everything seemed like a dream to him. When he saw the first notification, he thought he was starting to gain his powers as an angel back but what was this?
His face turned pale as he was in utter disbelief but the scream of the boy woke him up and he tried to act. He wasn't in his right mind but one thing he knew was that people mustn't see him at that moment or he might get killed as a monster. He turned to look at Tiana and thankfully, she was asleep. To his surprise, she had a very big smile on her face even after what he did to her and that made Kabbus wonder what kind of person she was but more than that, he knew he had to get out of the room.He turned around to look at the crying boy only to find out he had collapsed and a loud grunt escaped from his mouth. He took a few steps forward toward the boy and he saw that he wasn't responding. Having confirmed that, Kabbus escaped from the room and made his way home with red eyes... He was in a big mess."Louis, the doctor said you are fine. It was just a shock from waking up after getting hit that way." He heard Wendy's voice coming from his front but he was too lost to think about her.He continued running, hoping to escape from everyone but he was soon grabbed by a hand and was stopped on his track. He raised his head to see who it was only to find out that it was his earthly mother, Wendy. "Where are you running to? You shouldn't be running that way after what happened to you, ain't you scared that the plaster at the back of your head and the one on your forehead will be removed?" She asked with great concern on her face.Kabbus forced himself out of Wendy's grip and looked at her. "Was I injured?" He questioned with confusion on his face. He hadn't felt any pain in the back or front of his head since he woke up so was he really injured?Wendy laughed softly "You are still in shock, my baby. The doctor said you will soon be alright."Kabbus touched the back of his head, still in confusion and right there, he could feel something attached to his hair but what surprised him was that even though he was pressing on it so hard, he wasn't feeling any pain. It was like...He quickly shook his head and touched the front of his head too, He pressed on it, expecting it to be painful but it was the same. He wasn't feeling any pain.... it was as if the wounds were already healed! His face turned pale again and his eyes turned redder. He felt something rolling down his face and when he touched it, he realized it was water. "I'm crying again? Damn this human body!" He cried out as he fell to the ground.Once again, Kabbus was devastated and he cursed Orilas for doing this to him."Why? Why are you crying, Louis? Are you feeling any pain? Are you hungry again? What's wrong with you?" Wendy panicked as she moved closer to him but Kabbus pushed him away, stood up and ran away from the school premises. The journey home was far and he wouldn't have loved to run all through on a normal day but it wasn't a normal day to him. It was as if it was another death of him and he was bitterly mourning that as he made his way home.Getting home, he saw his father outside the house, preparing for work as he was cleaning his shoes but Kabbus didn't say any word of greeting before walking past him."Louis, are you okay? Your mother said you were injured earlier, do you feel better now?" Lucas, his earthly father questioned worriedly.Kabbus turned to look at him and shook his head "I don't feel alright. I don't feel good at all." He replied. He wished he could ignore Lucas and walk away but his humane part still rested Lucas a lot, making it difficult for him to disrespect him."Why? Are the wounds painful? Were you very injured?" Lucas panicked.Kabbus stared at Lucas for a while before he turned around and walked into the house without replying to him. He entered his room and locked the door on himself as he didn't want anyone to disturb him. He knew Wendy and Lucas would want to talk to him but he wasn't in the mood to talk to him as he had a lot on his mind.He was still on this thought when he started hearing screams from outside but he couldn't care less. "The kids must be back from school again." He mumbled to himself, ignoring the screams.Soon, Little Kabbus felt his eyes closing and before he knew it, he slept off. Waking up after a few hours, he realized they were still screaming outside and he frowned. He stood up from his bed and walked toward the door "These earthly people are so annoying. They wouldn't stop making noise no matter what!" He lamented as he opened the door and stepped out of the house but the scene in front of him shocked him.Kabbus stepped out to meet hundreds of dead bodies in front of his house and all around him were countless dead bodies!CHAPTER 6: Kabbus's heart raced. He looked around in search of what had gone wrong but he could see nothing. Looking at the bodies on the ground, he needed no one to tell him that it was the bodies of the people in his town as he knew a lot of them. "What happened here? Was this done by me? Did I become a monster while sleeping and... did this?" Kabbus panicked but there was no way to confirm and when he looked at his body, apart from the blood that dropped on his shirt when he was injured and Tiana's blood, there was nothing else to see. He was still on this thought when he heard screams coming from very far away from him. He frowned and turned toward the direction, he thought about going there to see what was going on but more than that, he decided to find his earthly parents first. "Are they dead too or did they run away? They will never run away, leaving their only child, would they?" He questioned himself as he tried to think about what must be going on but he was clueless. W
THE FALLEN ANGELCHAPTER 7:"Lucas! You can't leave me like this. You know Louis and I can't leave without you. Please, you have to live!" Wendy cried as she kneeled beside her husband and her child. She was panicking as she was scared. The last thing she wanted was to lose her husband... "Please..." She pleaded more. Lucas looked at Wendy's face and shook his head sadly "I wish to live too..." He said and turned to face Louis "I want to stay with my son too. More than anything... I want to watch him grow up. I want to watch him laugh and play for a long time... I don't want him to see me like this either..." He struggled to say as blood was already dripping from the corner of his mouth. Kabbus knew he was dying already but he was in shock. He saw the notification that popped up in front of him but he was divided. Would his father want to live even if it meant that he would become a vampire? Would he not hate him if he made him a vampire? He had a lot of questions on his mind and i
Kabbus wondered why his parents weren't asking him any questions at the moment even though he was glad it was so as he hadn't prepared an answer yet. He knew he had to say something that would please them or they might send him away or even kill him, calling him a monster. He helped them gather the ones who were still alive and together, they all set out to leave the town he grew up in. Not that he had any great memory of the place anyway and he wasn't in the right mind to miss anything. Just when he thought he wouldn't miss anyone, his mind flashed back to the small boy who saw him in the academy's hospital and his heart raced again. "Maybe he would have gotten killed too. I heard almost all the students were killed and only a few were able to escape. Out of the few that escaped, they are all with us at the moment apart from a girl and looking at the kids, none of them look like that boy, which means he must be dead but why do I feel strange all of a sudden? Could the boy be trou
"Louis!" Wendy was the first to scream when he saw the metal sticking out of her son's stomach. Fear gripped her soul as she quickly rushed forward to save him but she wasn't fast enough. Lucas ran quickly, he grabbed Louis's hand and dragged him toward himself but he still wasn't fast enough as the metal had been pulled out of Kabbus's stomach and there was a big hole in his stomach. Kabbus looked at the hole in his belly but for some reason, he wasn't scared. He raised his head to look at the creature who stabbed him from the back and his anger grew. It was a beast... a humanoid beast but a weak one. Kabbus removed the knife that his father kept in his trousers and ran forward, without making a sound, he stabbed it into the neck of the beast and watched the beast fall to the ground. "It... It stabbed me from behind. It... cheated." That was the last word that came out of his mouth before he fainted but Lucas was quick enough to grab him before he reached the ground. Wendy was a
Kabbus found the answer reasonable enough and he liked it too. More than anyone else, he knew he had to get stronger and he was ready to do anything to do that. "Okay. I should go meet Dad. I should help them as much as I can." He said as he ran away from his mother and toward the direction where he knew his father would be. "Louis, you are awake?""Louis, Do you feel better now?"The villagers that saw him passing asked him but he had no time to answer any of them as he ran toward his father. "I will help you, Father." Little Kabbus said with a big smile on his face. Knowing that his family still accepted him despite knowing he wasn't human was something that warmed his heart and it made him love them more. A few Years Later...Little Kabbus had grown into a 16-year-old boy and during the last 6 years, he had tried growing his powers at every given chance. He no longer relied on blood as he didn't want to alert the people but he would go out during the night to fight some beasts
Kabbus never thought he could be this pained. He never expected to experience this kind of pain by seeing the corpse of the people he had grown to love over the years. These people weren't like him but they were his, his people, his propriety and... his only family. "They were the only ones who cared about me." Tears rolled down his eyes as he looked at Wendy's bloody face. His mind went back to the things that had happened since he was reincarnated and he blamed himself for staying back with these harmless people. He stood up from the ground and let out a deep breath. "I can cry all I want later, but I need to leave here first." He told himself as he avoided the corpses on the ground, made his way to his room and started searching his things. He took the money he had made over the years with the ones Lucas and Wendy made, after that, he destroyed the huts and looked at the body again. Kabbus wanted to leave them lying on the ground but his heart couldn't take it. With a little m
The sharp pain ran across Kabbus's body and he groaned as he rolled forward again but it was too late, the vine wrapped around his body, raising him. Kabbus's heart shook violently "Is this motherfucking vines trying to give me to the two-headed snake? What the hell is it doing?" He questioned as he started struggling against the vine. He was certain the vine wasn't part of the snake so why was it helping the snake then?Kabbus continued hitting the vine, moving his body abruptly and trying to use his elongated finger to cut it but nothing was working. The Vine refused to budge and it was tiring, almost putting him at risk. "Ugly thick rope, will you let me go or do I have to cut you into pieces!" Kabbus's sharp tongue got to work, his frustration had multiplied. With a loud hiss, Kabbus felt the vine release itself from him but before he could celebrate his freedom, a sharp kick sent him flying in the air and soon, his back hit a tree, causing him to fall face flat on the ground
Kabbus readied himself for a tough fight as the big toad walked majestically toward him. It was carrying itself very slowly but each step covered a lot in a second and the distance between Kabbus and the toad decreased faster than anyone would have imagined. Kabbus stepped back a bit, his eyes not leaving the toad as he removed his bag from his back and opened it. He searched it abruptly, looking for a sharper knife that would help him deal a fatal blow to the toad. "Heck! What the fuck is wrong with this damn bag?! Who asked you to be so fucking big inside?!" Kabbus yelled. His sufferings over the past few days had made him lose all rationality. He was no longer the omnipotent Kabbus who would filter his words anymore and each word that came to his mind at that moment was accompanied by a curse. Kabbus stormed his feet on the ground as he increased his pace in searching for the knives. He couldn't waste more time, the toad had kept its vine but its body seemed even more dangerous
