CHAPTER 124: THE ESCAPE

There was no better time to flee than now. With tension covering the clouds of the castle, Khalodi, realizing that Khal Duraho had uncovered his deception, bolted out of the castle with Cassandra close behind. Khal Duraho, his face contorted with rage, rallied his men and gave chase, determined to capture the fleeing pair.

The castle, a sprawling labyrinth of towers and corridors, provided ample hiding places, but Khalodi's familiarity with the terrain gave him a slight advantage. He darted through the shadows, his heart pounding, as Cassandra struggled to keep up.

"We have to find a way out of here!" Cassandra whispered urgently, her eyes darting around the dimly lit hallway.

Khalodi nodded, his mind racing. "I know these halls better than anyone. Follow me, and stay close."

They rounded a corner, only to be met with the sound of thundering footsteps. Duraho's men were closing in, their shouts echoing through the castle.
