Chapter 4. Narrow Escape

I was glad Master Tachu didn’t see my face and I would have been killed if he had requested for me to unveil myself but thank God he did not.

After saying my good bye and sealing my promises to Chef Kh Jeon and he promised never to tell anyone about the incident that night, I was so happy even though I had a part of me in Khah’s Kingdom which is my daughter, I made a promises I will never want to break with the purple crystal as a token of peace and a remembrance of the kindness he showed unto me on this very day.

I managed to hide from the passing guards and as they were eating the food they were served by Chef Kh Jeon, I tip toed and passed behind them without being noticed; now it is the third and final gate of the kings palace that was the only limitation and challenge I will be having and that is still keeping me from running as hard as I wanted to be free.

The third gate is heavenly guarded because it is the first gate while coming into the Khah’s Kingdom and where the king’s treasure is kept because the king dug a toner more like a store house where he hides all his treasures from the eyes of his enemies because he thought, if he hide his treasures in the palace, it will be easier for his enemies to find but if he hides it at the third gate, where nobody will ever suspect nor think that a rich and wealthy king Selem will keep his treasure.

What will I do now and how will I manage to get through this gate? I thought to myself.

I remembered when I was a child and king Selem who happens to be my friend at the time told me that he found a tunnel close to the borders of Khah’s Kingdom that leads directly outside the Kingdom which I later discovered was tunneled because of war purposes, to help the citizens be able to sneak out of the kingdom in case of any unannounced war or attack from the neighboring kingdoms.

The barrier was created by the first king of Khah’s Kingdom, King Muella.

King Muella was the first king of Khah’s Kingdom who discovered it after being homeless for about twenty years went to a foreign country which wasn’t occupied by anyone and decided to live there and also accept any stranger who is willing to stay in peace and unity with him, he was able to gather about one hundred men with wife’s and children at first before they kingdom stated expanding.

King Muella married a beautiful damsel named Luella from the family of a noble man who sojourned in space, he fell in love with her as a young man in the Khah’s Kingdom and made his intentions of marrying her known to her and her parents, everyone in Khah’s Kingdom was happy and glad as the marriage is one that will make them more united and live in peace.

In less than two weeks, the marriage was carried out with different opinions on how it will be, King Muella seeing that the people that decided to sojourned with him had different beliefs and way of life decided to make a custom and tradition for married and every other aspect of their living and as he announced the custom and tradition, everyone was happy about the improvement and decided to make King Muella their king as he was the first man to step into the land and have offered them a space too.

King Muella was made king the same night he got married to his beautiful wife Luella who coincidentally bears almost the same name with him, with just a difference of M to L which encouraged their pet names Ml.

After five years of marriage, queen Luella couldn’t conceive, so was a burden on the citizens of Khah’s kingdom which had no name at the moment. All suggestions and medical treatment were done by King Muella and his wife but to no avail.

King Muella was worried, so he went to a gods sojourning with them in the kingdom and enquire of her to give him a child, the gods accepted the sacrifices he offered and decided to give him a son, she instructed King Muella to lay with his wife that night, that she will surely conceived. King Muella did as he was instructed and his wife conceived and after nine months gave birth to a bouncing baby boy who brought joy to the whole Khah’s Kingdom. Everyone was happy about the birth of the new heir to the throne and they celebrated massively the night he was given birth too.

After few years of peaceful living of the citizens of the kingdom, King Muella discovered the movement of strangers coming in and out of the kingdom without proper checking or accountability, and he suspected that some of them may be thief’s or spies who came to measure the kingdom as to take away all their belongings and treasures by war or attack, so he learnt how to cast spells and he cast a blood spell with the mixture of the blood of everyone in the Kingdom at the time which he did successfully by asking each person to cut themselves slightly and let their blood drop into a bowl which he used in casting the spell, and who ever doesn’t carry the Khah Kingdoms gene will not be allowed to enter the kingdom as the spell created an invisible barrier over Khah’s Kingdom and you can’t have access to the kingdom if not in the bloodline or except by the approval of the king which he will need to send his son to lead you into the Kingdom or cast a peace spell on the individual before the barrier will be opened for him/her.

I tried to locate the tunnel and after something that seem like an eternity, I did and went in without hesitation, the whole place was glittering with gold, silver, diamond and precious stones that cannot be numbered and I was tempted to steal some which I did take a few pieces, that will help me survive outside the Khah’s Kingdom because I actually do not know what is waiting for me outside this walls.

I looked for the main tunnel that leads outside the kingdom and finally I saw the tunnel and opened it speedily, oh..no… eee.. it stinks, I coughed out loud but used my hands to cover my mouth when I remembered I was trying to run away and I sensed the movement of some guards approaching the gold room, I stayed quiet and calm as possible and the guards came in and dropped some beautiful gold’s and went right outside.

I was relieved, I went into the tunnel even though it stinks but this is my only chance of leaving the Khah’s Kingdom and if I delay more, the king or his guards may find out or suspect that I was not in the palace and shot the palace including the tunnel which is opened only by a royal family’s fingerprint and closed by a code that only the king’s family knows about.

I crawled through the tunnel for about 35 minutes and finally I was on the other side of the king’s palace, I quickly shot the tunnel with the code, and I couldn’t believe it that I was before the Khah’s spell barriers, something I have been dreaming about for 15years after my parents left and when king Selem’s madness started.
