Con could already tell he was doing something he shouldn't when he sat down in the room. They had all decided that they would inform Xavier of Lisa's small misfortune later. The logic behind that was because they had no idea where he was and even if they did, Xavier wasn't feeling well right now.

The ice core could act up and he would freeze them over under its effects. There was no way to counter that effect and even if they did, Lisa had admitted to tampering with her father's records. Xavir would not be too happy when he learnt of that.
