Miranda explained all the other things she had to as the night went on. From how she had gotten Con from Adeline to how Adeline had been all but eager to sacrifice him to save her company. It would seem Miss Highton simply looked innocent but deep inside she had the mind of a snake. Or maybe she had just been too frantic to protect Nurain permanently and so she had done the next best thing. She sold Con to the lady of the rich and powerful lady who had asked it of her. Jane stirred the drink in front of her and checked the time on her watch. It was almost eight in the evening, which meant she had either been stood up again, or this person simply wasn't going to make an appearance today. The guy she had contacted assured her that his lead would show up. The same way he had assured her that the lead of yesterday would have video footage of what went down in Adeline's office the day Con disappeared, but that had turned out to be a bust and she had to let Aubrey deal with the guy. Jane and Xavier left the restaurant with Aubrey trailing them behind. Jane had ordered the other woman to do so. Well she had asked really but who was taking note. Aubrey would make sure that Xavier wasn't just another psychopath working for Adeline and she would reveal herself when the time was right, Preferably now that Xavier was leading her to his car. Jane looked around for signs of the other woman but she couldn't see any. She gritted her teeth and cursed inwardly as she looked at the black car in front of her.
