Jason disconnected the call and looked at the door down the hall that Andrea stood in front of. Behind that door was that sick woman. That psycho.

As Jason approached the door, Jason knew that his initial thought was not just a mere thought. He felt a chilling calmness under the bubbling lava of his anger. He knew that he could truly kill her first in his anger. He firmly tighten his metal hold on his anger as Andrea opened the door behind her. It was the sunroom and Jason hoped that the pseudo roof had been flipped back and Aria thrusted under the penetrating sun.

She was exactly the way he pictured her when he opened the door. She was sunburned and furious too. The moment she saw him, she went berserk and started pulling hard at the restraint that had her tied to the hard cane chair that she was seated on. Jason knew that the roof would have been ricocheting with her words by now but there was a gag on her mouth. Her mouth was duct-taped.

“Boss,” Simon said with the twin of Andrea

Two Years Later. “Alexi, give it back!” Jasmine’s outraged cry woke Jason up even before he felt a ball of energy jump on his covered chest. The air was momentarily knocked out of him as the source of his near-heart attack rolled to the other side of the king-sized bed and burrowed under the coverlet. A muffled giggle sounded somewhere close to Jason’s stomach, right before a fiery-eyed Jasmine, a miniature image of her father rushed into the room, half-plaited pigtails flying as she looked around in Jason’s room before looking back at the prone figure of her father, who was just removing the blanket from his face to look at her through bleary eyes. “Dad, have you seen Alexi?” she asked with her little fists planted at her waist. Jason gave her a mock disapproving look and said “Is that any way for my princess to greet me?” She ignored that as she pulled out the Sophia doll behind her. Sophia the best was missing her head as she dangled in the hands of her outraged owner “Alex, ki

Aria got imprisoned. Jason didn’t believe that Heinrich had it in him and he had been waiting patiently like a snake poised to strike, for the moment when he would hear that she had been released. He did not believe it when Heinrich had police officers haul her out of Charlotte’s home on the day he got back from Seychelles. The man’s heartfelt promise to make sure that Aria pay for all she had done did nothing to alleviate Jason’s doubt and he sent his men to monitor the police and Heinrich’s activities regarding the case. It was not until Aria was sentenced to fifty years in prison despite all the antics of her bevvy of lawyers that Jason finally called his men off. Though he still felt that the sentence was not enough he was at least satisfied with the knowledge that the prune-faced woman would not go scot-free after all. It was months before he could finally sit face-to-face to have a real conversation with Heinrich. That was when he learnt that Aria had done more damage than anyo

What does she want?Jason repeatedly asked himself this question as he drove to Montreau international airport to pick her up. He had first thought of sending the driver to pick her up but then he decided against it. He needed to know what she wanted all of a sudden and he wouldn’t mind sorting it out and sending her on her way as soon as possible.“I am at the airport. I am here to see you. Will you send someone to pick me up or do I need to find my way over there?” she had said so simply as if calling him on a Monday morning when he was supposed to be at work was a thing she does regularly.Jason was still angry about the fact that he had been unable to take his kids to their school by himself on their first day. He had to entrust them to Isabella and the driver. Though Alexander had taken the decision out of his hands when he said.“Dad, don’t follow us to school. Jas will not want you to go. Then she will be crying in front of everybody and everybody would think I am also a crybab

“Are you saying that…” “That I want to have a hand in handling my grandpa’s business? That is about right” Millicent Dimitrios said with a small smile as she crossed her long, long legs in the chair opposite Jason’s. They were in his home office and it took effort for him not to gape at the self-assured young lady that sat in front of him. Had there been a speck of this confident woman in the girl he had first seen about five years ago? Jason couldn’t remember if the feisty female in front of him had been hiding underneath the scarred but brave girl that he had pulled out of the underground cell of her abductors back then or if she had grown her shell over the years. One thing was certain though. Anybody would think twice before trying to pull one over this girl…well, not much of a girl left in the curvy, womanly attributes in front of him now. Any would think twice before messing with her. But Jason was not any man. He was pissed as hell. Who did she think she was to just drop in

Jason could kiss Jasmine for that question. He also wanted to know what Millicent’s laughter was about. His daughter had merely beaten him to it. Jason wondered if she found it funny that his kids were so desperate to have a mother that they think that the only woman they see in their home apart from their nanny, aunt and grandma was their soon-to-be mother. Before he could tear into her though, Isabella, who must have been walking more slowly behind them entered the office. She saw the look on her employer’s face and looked over at the young lady, who looked unfazed in the face by the furious gaze directed at her before looking down at her oblivious charges who were openly gazing curiously at the woman. “Oh, I am so sorry, sir. I will take them to their room” she said as she urged the twins to leave. “But we want to know her” Alexander protested. “She can not be our mummy,” Jasmine said right before Isabella closed the door behind them. “Later, kids. He had it again. After all this while, he had it again. And it was all her fault.Jason woke up in a pissy mood. The presence of the twins helped to reduce his dangerous aura but his shitty mood was back in the fold after he dropped them off at school. The children’s teacher must have noticed his morose countenance because her nervousness did not bypass Jason’s attention. He was sure that he had given off a wrong first-time impression to the petite, fluttery teacher but at the moment he couldn’t be bothered to care. His mood was black as he drove to work and all his dark thoughts were directed at one person. Millicent goddamn Dimitrios. That smart-mouthed little girl somehow seemed to transform into a hardcore, stranger all of a sudden. He swore fluidly as the headache he woke up with that morning flared and it seemed as if someone was doing the tango in his head. He had woken up panting hard. He had woken up sweaty. He had woken up with the dregs of panic and the smell of smoke in h

“Good morning, sir” Anastasia came out to greet her boss. She had become Jason’s assistant after Charlotte’s death and helped a lot in his transitioning and taking over Charlotte’s duties and tasks. In the whole company, Anastasia was the only person that Jason trusted most out of all the former workers that were there, apart from the people that he had installed in appropriate positions of course. He was also grateful to her for getting to him on time. He was sure that Aria would have ensured that Charlotte died with the children in her that day if this selfless woman had not risked her life to contact him.So, Anastasia had become more than just an assistant to him. She was like family. She was the second godmother of the twins too. A title she had accepted with lots of tears and remembrance of Charlotte.Anastasia was surprised by her boss’s countenance and she looked at the gorgeous lady in front of him the daggers that Jason was shooting the lady showed that she was the cause o

Alex had another idea and he only tried to roll off the dressing table towards a toy that Jasmine had in her hand at that moment. “Stay put, buddy,” Jason said in a strained voice and the boy only blinked up at him before he said his favourite word at that time “No!” and he continued his activity.Isabella, who was hovering around to take over the task, if her boss failed at it the way he had most times, only smiled and tried again as she said “Sir, let me…let me do it. She looked back at him with a questioning look on her face “With Jason. You are sure that her happiness was not just a show? She wasn’t just acting?” Sonia scoffed “Acting? She would be an idiot not to jump excitedly anytime she remembers that he belongs to her” She saw the look on his face and quickly said “Oh, I am sorry. I mean. She is very happy. She loves him. Bastion Alverro, current Capomandamento of the Alverro family gave her an askance look before asking “What is so funny in what I just said?” The woman continued laughing while trying so hard to curb her mirth “I…I am so sorry. I just couldn’t help it. Who would have thought that a powerful man like you would be a child at heart? I mean, who else would chase after someone this hard and for this long because of a silly dream?” she laughed again. Bastion looked at her again and said slowly “Something is different. Your face, that laugh. It is different” he said thoughtfully. “Oh, thank God. Finally, somebody with half a brain. I mean, I am sorry I am not trying to tell you that you have only half a brain. She had been distracted by Jason and dressing up had eventually taken more than an hour. Sending up a prayer to the heavens that she was fully clad, she turned towards the girl and smiled “Hey, beautiful. What’s up? Then to Jasmine, she said “Go and tell Heinrich that we will be there soon” Jasmine skipped out of the room, her school tie swinging like a pendulum on her neck. Oh, is that so?” Millicent said as she raised her head to accept Jason’s kiss “Hmm, this is surely the best way to wake up” she said as she held him tightly to herself and deepened the kiss. They were both breathing hard when they separated. Jason flopped back on his back, with his hand gently playing with Millicent’s hardened nipples. “Now, that is the best way to wake up,” he said with a chuckle. “No complaints from here,” Millicent said with a smile, then she stood up. Jason turned towards her direction and asked “Now, will you tell me what is wrong? You only toss and turn like that when you have something weighing on your mind. Is this about what I told you? About Silas?” Millicent’s eyes widened as she said “What? No, no. That is not... I mean, yes, what happened to your brother is… well, totally surprising. But I know you

Mia raked her hand through her hair, then turned back to say “Oh, helpful? You want help? You had better hope that the host of heavens come down to help you when mom hears about this…this madness of yours!” she snapped at him. “You know what? I really do not have time for this. The Monroes had a celebratory brunch with Heinrich, the deadly duo, and Anastasia the following day. Heinrich invited them to his home to celebrate his clean bill of health and the promotions. The doctor informed him the day before that the toxins in his system had been finally gotten rid of. Also, the neurotoxicity potency had been curbed to a minimal level. Though he still had to take medication for the rest of his life, new research funded by Jason was already underway on how to completely cure neurotoxicity. So they were all optimistic that he would be totally fine and free of medications soon. They all arrived for the brunch in high spirits. Everyone was still happy about the turn of events in the company. The deadly duo and Anastasia marvelled at the magnificence of Heinrich’s home. Then they all settled down to the magnificence spread provided by Heinrich’s cook and his assistants. Mouthwatering biscuits and gravy complimented the no yeast, French toast bagels so well, yet the
