“Save your breath for the police, Aria." Jason said blandly "I don’t care. I only have one reason why I am talking to your rotten self right now. I know that loyalty is a thing you have no idea of, unlike your stupid son who refuses to incriminate you.”

“Jessie? You are working with Jessie? That worm! I knew…”

“You know nothing, idiot. I am not working with that punk. I am only saying that you will not ruin his future and the future he could have with Heinrich with your big mouth and vengeful nature. You will not say anything about his involvement in your escape to the police. You escaped alone. I don’t care how you spin it. I am sure you will take out of your many repertoires of lies”

Aria’s look became cunning as she tilted her head aside “You know about that but you don’t want to incriminate him. Why? The last time I remember, you hate him for his involvement in your pathetic wife’s death. Argh!” she shrieked as Jason gave her a thunderous slap.

She shrank back against the hard

Jason went straight to the hospital the moment he got to Montreau. Fatigued from the seven-hour flight and the stress he had been through, he learned that Millicent had gone back to the hospital again that morning, so he went straight there to meet her. Jason,” Millicent called with relief the moment she spotted him striding towards her in the hospital corridor. She hugged him tightly as they met. “Oh my god, I am so happy that you are here. I was dressed for the meeting with the Montgomery Atlantics and I intend to check on Victoria later but then I got a call that she was coding out. I had to rush here. The doctors are with her” she said anxiously. “Calm down, babe,” Jason said as he disengaged from the hug, his gaze went to the door that he supposed they had Victoria in. “He gave Millicent an appreciative look. “You look beautiful, by the way,” she was dressed in white suit pants, white blazers and royal-blue, silk shirt and matching blue shoes. “And you look exhausted. “What do you mean by they are gone?” Millicent asked Anastasia angrily. The executive assistant of the chairman wrung her hands in agitation as she tried to explain herself. “I am so sorry, Milli... ma. I was suddenly feeling unwell this morning, just minutes before the commencement of the meeting. I thought you were running late, so I was about to call you when I saw Liam arrive, and he told me you would join us soon. I …am sorry, ma, but I had to use the restroom just after that. I couldn’t keep it so as not to embarrass myself during the meeting” “That still did not explain why our long-standing clients left within the first few minutes of the meeting!” Millicent snapped. “I learnt that Liam already took them to the meeting room when I got back from…I rushed to the meeting room but I saw them storming out of the room with Liam chasing after them” “Chasing after them? What the hell?” Millicent asked in astonishment. “He was asking them to wait for a few minutes more” Millicent

Blinded by the flashes, Millicent jerked open her door, hitting a reporter in the process. The lady reporter fell and her camera went flying. That moment was captured as well and some zeroed in on the reporter on the floor and on Millicent as she stretched her hands towards the woman. She stepped back when the reporters wouldn't even let her help the woman up or help her up themselves. She quickly entered her car and drove off as they scattered like a pack of rats from her path.Millicent couldn't believe what just happened there. She blamed herself for not accepting Jason's offer to have a driver who will also double as her bodyguard. She might be married to a multi-billionaire but that doesn't mean that she was willing to have everything done for her. She could drive her own damn car. At the moment though, she knew she wouldn't have minded having someone else field those wildcats she just encountered.Millicent was shaken but she had no idea if they had followed her so she couldn't

His hand numbed from holding Victoria’s hand for long, Jason woke up almost an hour later and he wondered how he had been able to sleep off so fast. He wasn’t one to sleep anyhow in strange places. Hospitals definitely weren’t the most comfortable place for him. He checked his phone and saw that there was no network coverage on it as well. That was surprising, he had never had any issue with network coverage before in Montreau. Well, there is a first time for everything. He thought, with the intention to go outside to get better coverage. He figured he had been at the hospital long enough for morale or whatever the doctor felt that the patient needed. He was certain that a caregiver would do more good for her than he would do. He would just make some calls and get enough caregivers for her. “As soon as I get a coverage” he muttered as he stood up. His movement was hindered by the hand link. “Right,” he said as he moved closer to her bed to gently pull his hand away from hers. “Ple

"What the hell is all this?" Jason exclaimed in outrage as he scrolled through his wife's phone."Yeah, those were my reactions" Millicent muttered, with her eyes closed and her head resting on the headrest "Now, I think I am numb. But no, I need answers too. How did you go from visiting Victoria to holding hands with her and kissing her? How?"Jason turned to her "Mil, I know this must look so bad right now, but..." "Oh, you are right. Bad is the half of it" She said, still without opening her eyes."Yeah, I know. And not to sound like a total cliche but this isn't what it looks like"Millicent snorted "Yeah, you are right. It sounded like a cliche and I don't know what to believe right now. Those larger-than-life images with the ridiculous caption or your cliche"Jason was quiet for a while then he said "You do know that I wouldn't disrespect you like that, don't you?""Well, tell that to the public sympathisers who believe that I am a husband snatcher, a shrew, a witch and many ot

"Sir, I am afraid that your phone was jammed" one of Jason's men reported what he had suspected the moment he input his sim card into another phone once he got home. The phone was booting when he handed his phone to the man to help check it out."Can you detect what time it was jammed and what had been done on or through it before the jam was planted ?" Jason asked as calmly as he could."Yes, sir. That would take a few minutes, sir""Use one of those systems and give me answers soon" Jason said as he pointed at the array of the systems in his customised study. The man nodded and silently went to use a system of his choice.Jason's mind was barely registering the clicking sounds of the man typing rapidly. His face was intent on the new phone he was setting up.Thankfully, Millicent was finally getting the rest she craved, away from the nastiness of the day. Thankfully, the kids were well distracted from venturing out beyond the property, where the reporters were camped waiting for any

Jason managed to catch a few hours of sleep before he woke up to another shocking realisation. Millicent was not in the house when he woke up. He had only crashed in the early hours of the morning and she informed him that she would like to do some horse-riding that morning. The man tracking the source of the jam was done by the time he woke up. He got news for Jason. Unfavourable news. “This is quite unfortunate, sir,” the man said with a contrite expression the moment Jason got out of his room. The man had been waiting for him and seemed to be on the verge of knocking on the door. “What now?” Jason asked, still slightly fatigued and in no mood for long talks. Someone had tampered with your phone and the jam was their way of covering their tracks, sir. Now, I don’t know the exact time you used your phone last but the last transaction on your phone had to do with someone logging in to the company’s account through your account and huge amounts of money were transferred to an offsho

Jason’s face showed prominently on the gigantic tv in the room as two people watched him talk with fire in his eyes. The video was oddly zoomed in a way that nothing around him showed on the screen. Not even his cloth. Only his head showed so clearly on the screen that one could count his pores if so inclined. The clip came to an end when he ordered the reporters to leave his property. The man seated behind the desk chuckled low in a hair-raising manner before he muttered just one word “Repeat” The lady in stiletto heels and dressed in an electric-blue, leather, crop top and a short skirt that barely passed her butt, nodded and picked up the remote to replay the clip. The video runs out and again he said “Repeat” She played it again without question. Just when Jason got to “...or air anything malicious about the Monroe!”, the man behind the desk picked up the gun on his table and shot the screen. Right in the middle of Jason’s head. The screen flickered a bit and went off. The lad

Then to Jasmine, she said “Go and tell Heinrich that we will be there soon” Jasmine skipped out of the room, her school tie swinging like a pendulum on her neck. “You were tossing and turning all night” Jason said to Millicent as she opened her eyes the following morning. He had been watching her for a while. “Uh? Oh, is that so?” Millicent said as she raised her head to accept Jason’s kiss “Hmm, this is surely the best way to wake up” she said as she held him tightly to herself and deepened the kiss. They were both breathing hard when they separated. Jason flopped back on his back, with his hand gently playing with Millicent’s hardened nipples. “Now, that is the best way to wake up,” he said with a chuckle. “No complaints from here,” Millicent said with a smile, then she stood up. Jason turned towards her direction and asked “Now, will you tell me what is wrong? You only toss and turn like that when you have something weighing on your mind. Is this about what I told you? About Silas?” Millicent’s eyes widened as she said “What? No, no. That is not... I mean, yes, what happened to your brother is… well, totally surprising. But I know you

She turned back, put her phone on speaker and dropped it on her table before she said “Silas Benjamin Rouarke, what the hell are you talking about?” “Wow, that judgy tone of yours is really helpful right now, sister” Silas’s voice resounded in her spacious, elegantly furnished office. Mia raked her hand through her hair, then turned back to say “Oh, helpful? You want help? You had better hope that the host of heavens come down to help you when mom hears about this…this madness of yours!” she snapped at him. “You know what? I really do not have time for this.
