Jason originally intended to get his ride that day when he was going about his business but then he decided against it as that would hinder his motive for the day - getting Charlotte used to being in his space.

He was waiting for her when she closed and even though she seemed momentarily surprised when she got downstairs and saw him waiting in the lobby, she didn’t say anything as she nodded at him and asked if he was ready to go.

Jason decided to be cooperative as he could see the fatigue on her immaculate face even as she walked straight-backed in front of him and he tried his best not to look at her enticing backside. He had been waiting for a while as he decided not to disturb her when he got to her office and the P. A told him that she was in a conference meeting. He asked before leaving how her day had been and the lady merely said “Busier than ever, sir”

Yeah, Jason figured as much and he told her not to inform Charlotte of his arrival. He wouldn’t want to add to her stress aft

The emboldened headline jumped at him from the front page. It was so bold that even a myopic person could pick it out from a distance.“Jeez,” he said involuntarily as he stretched his hand to collect the paper. He felt the car slow down and he looked out the window to see that they had left the crowded part of the city. There was the vastness of land here and he was amazed that he couldn’t see houses around even though the road was tarred and hedgerows were artistically planted at the road… wait, it was a driveway! He moved closer to the door to look out the window. The architect of the house was worth the title indeed, not only had the person managed to incorporate a driveway that branched into different directions outside the house that lead right to the tongue-and-groove imitation caramel-coloured electronic gate that opened silently inwards as the driver stopped in front of it; the house itself was magnificent on its own.The building had an open-plan aura that was cleverly incor

Jason had no idea just how nervous he would be regarding meeting his father-in-law for the first time. Charlotte had informed him earlier that her dad would prefer their first meeting to be a dinner. The dinner would be held at The Kavinsky Villa, a home once reported to have no rivalry in the whole Montreau. He decided to reduce his anxiety by dressing his best. “Wow. Father-in-law” he muttered with a curt half laugh as he looked at himself in the mirror of the men’s dressing room in the boutique he came to get some clothing. “That didn’t sound half as bad,” he said contemplatively before he shook his head at himself in the mirror. Who could have thought he would be saying that? A year ago, he was still in Ratsburgh prison counting the days he would likely get out of the prison if he was not stopped by the bastard that put him in in the first place. Thoughts of his girl and the Roaurkes had been what had got him going. He couldn't help but think of the old man that had befriended

Just before the guard gets to Jason…..“Is everything alright here?” a man said as he rushed to the scene. Beads of sweat could be seen on his forehead as joined them. He was dressed in immaculate casual wear, his receding hairline had a shine to it; that accentuated his slicked-back hair more.Jason grimaced inwardly at the amount of gel that seemed to have been invested to keep the little amount of dyed hair left on the man near the bald head. “Manager” the attendant turned to the man and was about to explain what was happening to the man when the latter turned to Jes.“Oh, young master. You are welcome. I have heard a lot about you. I was just…”“You can’t escape it, Jes. your reputation precedes you even to this place” Zig said from the corner of his mouth and the other friend playfully jabbed him in the ribs.Jes was not so amused though as he pinned a glare on the manager whose shoulder seemed to develop a droop at the young master’s displeasure. “How the hell did you know who

“What? The venue changed?” Jason asked in surprise as he watched Charlotte descend the staircase.“Damn, she is beautiful,” he thought involuntarily even as he grappled with the new information she had just given him.She had on a bejewelled peach-coloured evening gown with minimal frills in design. The gown moulded her perfect cuff so sensuously and her hair perfected the look of exquisite, elegant beauty. Jason had gotten used to seeing her in ponytails that his jaw almost dropped when he saw the perfect coiffure she had her hair in. Wisps of her silky black hair trailed down the sides of her face, teasing the diamond, unicorn-shaped earrings she had in her ears. Well, his no-nonsense wife did have a whimsical side to her after all.The neckline of her gown dipped a bit to show the barest of cleavage and that little unconventional cut made Jason regret the fact that he accepted her idea of separate bedrooms. He had considered her unaccustomed anxiousness that the first day he arrive

The limo bar was well stocked with an attendant at hand to attend to them.Charlotte refused the offer of caviar and champagne as she looked out of the window for the most of their journey.Jason asked for a glass of whiskey and tried to put her at ease. He was amused by the switch in their role as he expected that he was supposed to be a wreck with nerves. Funny enough, the apprehension he felt originally eased off a few minutes after they entered the limo.Any other frisson left was chased away by the brandy. He grew silent when he tried to draw Charlotte into a conversation and she was responding with the monosyllabic words.&

  • THE GRAND PATRIARCH IS BACK   Chp 102 - The Bond

Jason could see that it was no surprise that Montreau was known as The Pacesetter city. Everything seemed to be done on a larger scale here. Skyscrapers everywhere you turn, trendsetting companies that only a few others could compete with around the world and a little more so in the whole of California state. The venue of the dinner meeting was The Bond. The Bond was unlike any other in the world. It was a restaurant where the most influential of celebrities comes to have their dinners and to be seen. It was said that it took months for anyone to get reservations in The Bond. some had been known to wait for as long as half a year while some never made it all their life. Most people would give up along the way or make do with any of the substitutes that The Bond had partnered with. Resumes of hopeful chefs were enough to fill the streets of Montreau with each of them hoping fervently that their name could be linked at least once to The Bond. Some were satisfied to be connected to th

“What is the ruckus all about?” Jason heard a female voice say from the other side of the door. Right before a woman opened the door. Jason guessed she must at least be in her late forties but she looked so much younger and one did not need to verify further to know that her youthfulness have more to do with Botox injections than any natural endowment. Though she was a beautiful woman in her right, too many enhancements had added a kind of hard features to her beauty. It was as if she was trying to be someone else. Her nose looked unnaturally slimmer, was it lifted too? Jason could almost think that the woman was trying to imitate an Asian woman with the contradictions that her surgeries had added to her features. “Mum, can you believe this?” Jes busted into la

At that moment, it was to get back at her for having what I would never have - Jason, I mean. But eventually, I realise that in a silly way of mine, I was probably hoping that some of her goodness will rub off on me. Stupid, isn’t it?” she asked him with a smile, then look away again when his expression didn’t change. “Sorry,” she muttered. “You said she is happy?” he asked suddenly. She looked back at him with a questioning look on her face “With Jason. You are sure that her happiness was not just a show? She wasn’t just acting?” Sonia scoffed “Acting? She would be an idiot not to jump excitedly anytime she remembers that he belongs to her” She saw the look on his face and quickly said “Oh, I am sorry. I mean. She is very happy. She loves him. Any idiot could see that. Even when I was trying to c

Bastion Alverro, current Capomandamento of the Alverro family gave her an askance look before asking “What is so funny in what I just said?” The woman continued laughing while trying so hard to curb her mirth “I…I am so sorry. I just couldn’t help it. Who would have thought that a powerful man like you would be a child at heart? I mean, who else would chase after someone this hard and for this long because of a silly dream?” she laughed again. Bastion looked at her again and said slowly “Something is different. Your face, that laugh. It is different” he said thoughtfully. “Oh, thank God. Finally, somebody with half a brain. I mean, I am sorry I am not trying to tell you that you have only half a brain. The drama of the morning only seemed to increase as Jasmine burst into their room, just as Millicent finished dressing. She had been distracted by Jason and dressing up had eventually taken more than an hour. Sending up a prayer to the heavens that she was fully clad, she turned towards the girl and smiled “Hey, beautiful. What’s up? What is with the rush?” “Grandpa is here,” Jasmine said excitedly. “He brought a woman with him” “Brought a…Heinrich is here?” Millicent asked in surprise. “Yes, he is. He wants to see Daddy and Isabel was acting weird” Jasmine said thoughtfully. “Oh yes, weird is the least of it,” Millicent thought anxiously. Then to Jasmine, she said “Go and tell Heinrich that we will be there soon” Jasmine skipped out of the room, her school tie swinging like a pendulum on her neck. “You were tossing and turning all night” Jason said to Millicent as she opened her eyes the following morning. He had been watching her for a while. “Uh? Oh, is that so?” Millicent said as she raised her head to accept Jason’s kiss “Hmm, this is surely the best way to wake up” she said as she held him tightly to herself and deepened the kiss. They were both breathing hard when they separated. Jason flopped back on his back, with his hand gently playing with Millicent’s hardened nipples. “Now, that is the best way to wake up,” he said with a chuckle. “No complaints from here,” Millicent said with a smile, then she stood up. Jason turned towards her direction and asked “Now, will you tell me what is wrong? You only toss and turn like that when you have something weighing on your mind. Is this about what I told you? About Silas?” Millicent’s eyes widened as she said “What? No, no. That is not... I mean, yes, what happened to your brother is… well, totally surprising. But I know you

The Monroes had a celebratory brunch with Heinrich, the deadly duo, and Anastasia the following day. Heinrich invited them to his home to celebrate his clean bill of health and the promotions. The doctor informed him the day before that the toxins in his system had been finally gotten rid of. Also, the neurotoxicity potency had been curbed to a minimal level. Though he still had to take medication for the rest of his life, new research funded by Jason was already underway on how to completely cure neurotoxicity. So they were all optimistic that he would be totally fine and free of medications soon. They all arrived for the brunch in high spirits. Everyone was still happy about the turn of events in the company. The deadly duo and Anastasia marvelled at the magnificence of Heinrich’s home. Then they all settled down to the magnificence spread provided by Heinrich’s cook and his assistants. Mouthwatering biscuits and gravy complimented the no yeast, French toast bagels so well, yet the
