Two nurses assisted the doctor as he examined Michelle. His face was a mask of bewilderment. He had treated Michelle when she was rushed to the emergency room, and he was certain - based on his medical knowledge - that she should still be in a coma for months, even years. Now, she was awake and seemingly fine. Her heart rate and blood pressure were normal.
