Chapter 5

"Good luck, Adam. Come whenever you want; let me know if you can get any information about Alatar.”

Gwydion's eyes filled with tears as he escorted Adam to the front door to go to the Alatar mansion. He just affected.

Gwydion's heart is not abysmal; a sense of joy with hope appears because the savior, according to fate, has arrived. However, there is also a feeling of sadness and worry about Adam's position, which could have lost his life.

“Yeah, I'll let you know if there's anything I can say. But, I want to remind you again; I do not side with any side. I want to go back to where I belong. So… I hope you understand, but thank you for your kindness, Gwydion.”

Gwydion nodded and gave Adam a warm hug. After that, Adam left the minimalist house in the forest. Gwydion stood in front of his house until Adam was no longer seen.

“Whatever you say, I'm sure if fate has spoken, everything will go smoothly. Fight on, Adam.”

Meanwhile, Adam walked through the dense forest quite calmly. Adam's brain was starting to get overwhelmed by information that was beyond common sense. Since his talk with Gwydion at noon yesterday, Adam had refused to hear anything else. He chose to be alone and sleep.

For Adam, knowing his core duties to return was more than enough. Moreover, Gwydion had said that having the power of the four elements made it easier for Adam to do magic. He just needed to think about what he wanted to do and improve it with the training he would receive from Alatar.

Adam's eyes were drawn to a distant light that seemed to be speeding toward him.

"What's that?" Adam muttered; he stopped his steps.

The white light that was getting closer turned out to be a small arrow; Adam immediately dodged it so as not to hit him.

“Damn it.”

Adam's eyes followed the movement of the light and found that it crumbled into dust after passing through him.

Adam looked around, but no one was in sight. Feeling safe, Adam returned to continue his journey. However, who would have thought that the light would come again, and this time in large numbers?

“Oh no, shit!”

Adam started dodging the light coming from all around, and he was having a hard time because there were too many of them.

“AKH!”

Adam shrieked as a single light hit his hand; the sensation it created felt like it was on fire. Adam had fallen while holding his hand, not realizing that all the light was following his position.

“Damn!”

The speed of light also increased compared to before. Just before the light hit him, Adam remembered the power he had and reflexively hit the ground.

The light shattered with the appearance of high mounds of earth from every side. Adam took advantage of this to immediately get up and put aside the pain he was feeling in his hand.

The red-colored dust surrounded Adam, and the light no longer appeared.

“Pretty good, but your reflexes are still very slow.”

Alatar suddenly appeared beside Adam; the middle-aged man showed a light in his grasp.

"You're the one who gave off that light?" he asked.

“Yeah, I was waiting for you; I knew you would return. A test to join the ranks of perfect and immortal magus should be fine, right? After all, you were able to avoid it.”

Adam didn't budge; he just stared with a deadpan expression at Alatar. His heart was abysmal because of the middle-aged man's actions.

"So, are you ready?"

“Ready for what?” he asked.

“Ready to become important and incridible magus in Greash. Your strength will lead you to the best position in your life. Today, I will introduce you to all the people of Greash, the pillars of Greash are perfect, filled with four people who can perfectly control the four elements. Congrats, Adam.”

Alatar thrust his hand toward Adam, a broad smile never leaving his aged face. Alatar moved his fingers, signaling Adam to hold his hand.

The blue light between the two seemed to merge as Adam placed his hand in Alatar's palm. The light even gave off tiny sparks like flames.

"I know we'd be perfect together, Adam. Greash needs two great people like us.”

Adam and Alatar moved to a tall building in the city's center. The tower-like building was where important announcements were made from the magic council. Several other magic councils had already gathered; they immediately lowered their heads when Alatar and Adam appeared.

"Welcome, Sir Alatar and Adam."

Adam was quite amazed at the sight of the five people bowing their heads to him, especially Raymond, who was still cold and rude to Adam yesterday.

“Okay, I want everyone to gather here immediately. There's no time to linger; Adam already has to do the training," Alatar said while looking at Adam, "Adam, they are the magic council; so far, Greash has been able to run well because it is under our hands."

Greash sky rumbled. Adam's eyes immediately diverted and found the color of the sky turned deep blue.

“Ancestor was smiling proudly seeing the two possessors of supreme power in Greash. I'm sure, all this time, you just lost in the southern star. Your place is here, Adam," Alatar said, his happy face never leaving him since Adam's arrival.

The boisterous voices of people talking were heard, and all Greash residents had arrived. Alatar put his arm around Adam, and the two stood on the edge of the fence facing everyone.

“Hello, all of the magus I have always loved. Today, I would like to make an important announcement. Grease, this land we love, the arrival of a new person who will join the magic council. He is Adam, the great one, same with me. Greash will be increasingly powerful; two perfect courtiers become pillars of the wizarding world. rejoice!”

Alatar raised Adam's hand proudly; the other five people behind them also clapped their hands joyfully. However, Adam's gaze was fixed on everyone who came; his ears caught crying and cursing.

No one clapped and greeted him happily.

“Alatar, did you see--.”

“Yes, Adam, I see no smiles for you from all of them downstairs. They are just a collection of weak people who will be eliminated by themselves. Never mind it. Remember, you and I now have a mission to take hold of this magic world.”

Alatar smiled broadly at Adam, his gaze carrying a thousand meanings. Adam returned his gaze to the people whom the magic council guards were now threatening. Some small children even fell after getting an attack.

Unknowingly, Adam put a little pity in his heart, 'Maybe I should save them from Alatar. Maybe… this is indeed my fate.’
