My world faded into darkness, a strange sense of calm washing over me despite the chaos. I was dimly aware of Derek's voice and of the sounds of battle raging around me. Derek and the rest of the grim reapers looked at me, and they stood still, speechless. None of them have ever tried to catch a glimpse of the future. I flew with great speed as my mind raced with different thoughts. I had seen Elena and Elizabeth dead in my dreams. The demons had killed them to spite me. "Is this the night they died?" I thought to myself as I increased my speed. The thoughts of failing Elena were all I could think of. Her screams and noise got louder as I flew, trying to get there before anything happened to her. A wave hit me suddenly, and I lost balance for a while. I came soaring down to the earth as I tried to balance myself once more. I looked up, and I saw two demons staring at me with a menacing look. It looks like the demons are getting stronger by the day, and with the rift opened, the earth is in chao." Gilbert said it with his head hung in sorrow. I heard a faint voice, and I knew it was Evelyn. "Where are you, babe?" Stephan said it using his demon voice. He had my voice clowned out and made Evelyn believe I was the one talking. The tension was thick with anticipation as I looked at Boyd and back at Zack. I looked at Boyd, who had bruises all over his face, and back at Zack's angry face. "It doesn't have to be this way, Zack. All of this is not right; demons and humans cannot coexist in the same world." I looked at him, and his eyes glowed again. "The reapers can, of course, since you are one of them." Zack said, looking at me. I was about to attack him when I saw Zeoy coming at him from the back. I was fixed to a spot and wondered what was going on. Zeoy was supposed to be dead. I had seen her corpse before she was taken by Boyd. She landed a blow on Zack, and he fell down. I could see she was still weak from the fight she had with the demons. "We need to leave now!" I shouted, and we immediately took to our hill. We all regrouped at Derek's gym house. "What about Elena and Elizabeth?" I looked at Gilbert and Derek. "I am sorry, kid, but I don't think we can find them. The fire demons get to them first.
