At first, Lucas thought that he didn’t hear correctly. He took a step closer to Lucas, with a stoic expression and firm gaze that would prompt cold shivers to go down one’s spine.

“What did you just say?” He asked Denver who lowered his head to the ground in pretense.

“Trust me, I tried so hard to chase the car, but it was faster than me”, Denver added, throwing Lucas into another realm of confusion.

“I understand that you don’t want this event to happen. But then, I have no time for you”, Lucas declared defiantly and made to walk away.

“I wish it was a joke”, Denver dropped.

Emily whimpered silently as the door of the dark room opened. A man walked in, with a phone in his hands and with a not so pleasant look on his face. “You should talk to your man. He probably still thinks that we are all having a joke here”, the man’s deep voice caused her to jerk up in shock. “My man?” She asked and gulped down hard. She had an idea of who he talked about. But then, her thoughts didn’t seem to be coordinated yet. She was still blank and in utmost shock about how her kidnap happened.

  • THE HEIR OF BELCRAFT    Chapter 182

Lucas was quite restless as he tried to think of what to do. Denver had told him that he saw Emily getting kidnapped and to prove that, whosoever it was that kidnapped her put her on a call with him. That was a major indication of the fact that it was true. The fear and panic in Emily’s voice was surreal and for a moment, he had no idea of how to handle the issue. “You look kind of distracted. You should know that the audience are watching”, his grandfather who was sitting down beside him said as he pushed him slightly, jerking him out of his thought. Lucas gulped down hard and wiped the sweats he had on his forehead away. This event was organized for him and leaving at that moment would make him look disrespectful. That was definitely one thing he didn’t want to happen. “Can we put the event on a hold? Someone is threatening me at the moment and I don’t think I would want to proceed with it”, Lucas finally said, after moments of summoning courage to talk to his grandfather. Hi

Lucas dashed out of the event premises, still in his disguise. He felt so bad that he was leaving in such manner, even if his grandfather went all out to ensure that the event turned out to be the best ever heard of. Emily seemed to be the priority at the moment and he was willing to give up everything for her. His phone beeped again and a message popped up. “Ensure that you are alone. She would be killed the minute we realize that you are with someone else”, the message said and Lucas gasped in fear. He tried so hard to rack his head and think of who might be doing such a thing, but the more he tried to think, the more confused he got. “No police. I promise. Just ensure that she is safe”, he sent a quick message back to the number that texted him. After a while of driving, he arrived at what looked like an old building. It had different wreckage and looked entirely desolated. He met a man by the gate, holding a gun and pointing it at Lucas who had his hands raised to the air.

Emily couldn’t believe that she just heard Lucas voice. The last thing she expected was Lucas coming to save her. She didn’t want him to endanger himself for any reason. At this, she was shocked to see that he came to save her. She made to talk, but only muffled sounds came up her mouth. She stared at Lucas who stared back at her, with different emotions running through his eyes. She could see how much he felt bad. She wanted to tell him that it was not her fault and that it was her who decided to leave the party. She also wanted to tell him not to save her or do whatever it was they wanted him to do. But then, she couldn’t because of the restraint she had over her lips. Lucas took in a deep breath and made to walk over to her but the man stood before him and shook his head negatively. “That is not part of the deal. You can’t move close to her. You can however see that she is doing well”, he explained to Lucas who nodded his head. The man gestured for his colleague who swiftly st

Lucas was still on the ground when Emily walked over to him, with a small bruise on her face. She had gotten the bruise after falling to the ground somewhere in the room. “Lucas!” She called out and ran over to meet with him, tears rolling out of her eyes and excitement crawling to her heart. He pulled her into a warm hug and for the next minute, they remained in each others arms. “I got so scared. Did they hurt you?” Lucas asked as he caressed her cheeks lovingly. She shook her head negatively and looked at him intently. She could tell that he did something huge to get her out.

He didn't bother checking if he had locked the door the moment he got in. Normally, for coming in at such a late hour, he would sneak in, make sure he didn't make any noise while coming in to attract anyone's attention, including the house helps and those who worked in their mansion. No one could be trusted. Lucas looked like one of the most dejected humans anyone could imagine. His suit was hung over his shoulder, and his hair scattered, while he wore an exhausting look on his face. His tie was no longer knotted neatly like it had been from the beginning. Instead, he had loosened it down, looking like a drunkard. He walked straight to the dining room and sat on the chair. But not before pouring himself a glass of vodka. At least, he could make use of a drink. As he drank, the hurting events of the day played in his head. With each sip came the memories. One he wasn't sure his grandfather was going to love hearing. “I had not expected you to leave the crowning event in such a manne

“Well, someone decided to finally join us.” Denver's voice boomed, filling the dining room. “Isn't that lovely, grandpa?” He asked, smiling at his grandfather. But the old man didn't give a response. He just kept on having breakfast. It was already morning in the Belcraft's house, and Lucas was strong enough to join the rest of the family for breakfast. Despite not having a pleasant night, he couldn't deny the burning hunger. The moment he heard Denver's voice, he groaned. Couldn't he get by a day without Denver in his way? He had not bargained to have breakfast with Denver around, knowing how much he loved playing his games. However, his hunger was greater. So, he dragged his chair out and sat. At the sight of the enticing meals set on the table, his mouth watered. “Do you like what you see? I understand that since you had been living in the slums, you might not have seen food like this.” Denver said, snickering. He knew perfectly that his words were directed at him to hurt him b

  • THE HEIR OF BELCRAFT    Chapter 188

It's been a week since the kidnapping, and also a few days since the fight with Denver. Yet, the bruises still felt like it had just been yesterday. He could recall Emily telling him that it looked like Denver had beat him harder. However, he knew it was a joke, but for some reason, it irritated him. He sat on the sofa, his eyes on the TV, as if he was watching what was being displayed. But he wasn't. His eyes were fixed on it, yet he couldn't tell whatever it was they were doing because he was absentmindedly watching the TV. All thanks to the worries of a man. However, he knew he couldn't keep looking like the only man with a huge problem since he was at his lover's house. Women were known to easily sense when something was wrong. And Emily was one of those women. In fact, she was excellent at it.He remembered the moment he had walked into the living room, she had asked if he had been attacked. Although he guessed it was because of the bruises he sustained, but, he was mistaken. S

Before Lucas could make a movement out of the location, a gang of boys had gathered already, surrounding him. The old man couldn't just stop calling him a thief even after he had explained to him that the money belonged to him. However, at some point in time, Lucas couldn't blame them. He had not taken his time to think through his actions. He should have known that it was definitely going to be outrageous for an odd looking man like him to display such huge amount of money, even if he was in disguise. No one but him knew he was in disguise as a poor man after all.Soon enough, it looked to him like the old man had filled the gang in with the wrong details. That explained the disapproving and angry stares they gave to him. It was unfortunate that even as he tried to plead with them so he could tell them the truth from the misconception the old man had, they had began to throw blows at him, kicking and slapping him at the same time.Lucas considered their action to be inconsiderate, i

As of that time, he was no longer the rich looking, handsome billionaire. He was now an ugly haggard poor man who was sniffing around the cliff, probably searching for what to eat. As usual, there was always a plan B.Surprisingly, the first step he took made them take another step back. Despite given the distance, he could still see the distrust that equally led to fear on their faces. Of course, he should have expected that. “I won't hurt you please. He knew how hard he had paid people to go in search of her. However, it was heart breaking to say that there was no one who took it in their deep interest to find her because if they did, he was pretty sure that some positive results would have come out. He was presently at one of the abandoned and deserted warehouses he knew about. That was another perfect spot for a billionaire like him to suddenly transform himself into a disgusted poor man which people would want to stay away from. He had chosen the warehouse, far from the mansion so

“He used to be a student at the school.” The words of Mr. Shaw couldn't stop playing in her head. “I was able to go into the city. Ever since the date she found the picture, she took it upon herself to search every nook and cranny of the bag said to belong to her, with the intention of finding anything else that could tell her who she truly was. Unfortunately, there was nothing. It was just a bunch of make up kit, the name tag, and the picture. However, what Emily was truly focused on at the moment was finding out who the man in the picture was. Blake stood to stare at his friend in confusion. He didn't want to believe what he had just heard from him. But then, he was forced to believe him, owning to the seriousness on his face. “I have a lot of questions concerning this if you're actually serious about it.” Blake finally opened up to say. There was a reign of silence as Lucas didn't respond to him. “How did you leave to find Emily? Where did you also go to find her, Lucas?” Blake asked, hoping he would still get a response from him because definitely, he was curious.“When you all were asleep, foolishly believing that she is actually gone for good.” Lucas answered, a sting of betrayal playing in his voice. “Lucas, you're endangering your life.” Blake said, concern glaring in his voice.“I don't care if I had to do that. All I want is to find my woman.” Lucas said forcefully, turning to look back at Blake.“Let me remind you that this supposed woman is dead.” Blake said. “Her body was not found. “Is he still locked up in his room?” Mr. Belcraft asked Blake the moment he walked in. Blake let out a deep sigh firstly before he could respond.“I'm just coming in. But I bet he would still be locked up in his room.” Blake finally answered. The old man was the next on line to let out a deep sigh. When Blake watched him closely, he could see the wrinkles which had appeared on his face. It was clear to him that the old man was more stressed up than anyone else could be.And truth be told, he just had to be, owning to the fact that he deeply cared about his grandson.“Will you help me go check up on him?” Mr. Belcraft opened up again, pleadingly.“Of course Mr. Belcraft. I would do that.” Blake said, and he nodded his head in approval. Blake then turned in the attempt of doing what he had come to do as well as what he had been pleaded to do. Although underneath the scary feeling, she felt thrilled to go start a new life. When she thought deeper about the bold step she had taken towards an unknown destination, she pushed aside the fear that clunged onto her. After all, she couldn't remember who she was. There was a possibility her new journey could make it all happen. The clattering sound she had heard caused her to open her eyes, and sit on the bed. "Oh, God." She yawned deeply. For a minute, she had forgotten that she was now in the home of her saviors, the old woman and her husband. After she had pleaded with her to let her leave with them, the old woman had thought of it wise to inform her husband. Clearly, Emily didn't object to it. All she did was pray inwardly that the old man was going to accept it. And he did. While they took it upon themselves t

    Chapter 250

She had thought that the smell of drugs, syringe, and possible vomit had only conjured in her dream. However, she was all wrong when she opened up her eyes. Her first sight was the bulb producing light which was on, and the rolling fan. She stayed put for a while as she tried hard to realize where she was. Sadly, the harder she tried, the more pain she felt. The young lady closed her eyes shut again. This was in a bid to calm her hurting head, and also see if she could get anything. When she did it for the longest time she could remember, and nothing happened, she opened back her eyes. It was at that time she used the opportunity to look around where she was. Definitely, she had not been wrong when the smell told her she could be in a hospital. Even if her memory had a bit of lagging behind, she could as well recognize what an hospital looked like. But, she still couldn't think past the question she had. Why was she in a hospital? She thought. Despite the struggles, she finally
