He stared at the bracelet in his hands as he rode over to the giant hotel as fast as he could.
His heart was beating fast, and he was trying as hard as he could to believe that whatever it was that he just heard about Ella, was certainly not true. But when he got to the hotel, he saw her car there and his heart skipped countless beats that he was already gasping for breath. He froze on the spot for a while, and he could not even limp as his brain was still trying hard to process what was going on.“It can't be true that she is cheating with someone else. It has to be that this is a mistake and nothing more.” He thought silently. He was confused now as he did not want to go in there and meet with the sad truth that was going to be more like a shocker to him… draining all the life that he had left in him.But he decided otherwise. If she was cheating on him, it would be better for him to catch her red-handed rather than just assume that she is cheating on him in his head.He proceeded inside, but as he was attempting to step into the place, the guard standing at the door stopped him almost immediately.“And what are you trying to do?” The security guard inquired.“Do you think that this is some psychiatric hospital or something?” He shot at Lucas after taking a proper look at the clothes that he was putting on.“And what the hell in the name of ten devils do you think that you are trying to do?” Lucas shot back at him.He wasn't desiring any chit-chat as he was already annoyed, and he needed to get in there as soon as he could, to know what exactly it was that he had to believe now.“I'm trying to say that this is not some charity organization, and it would be better for you to head back to wherever it is that it seemed you came from.”Lucas clutched his hands, trying as hard as he could to control his rising anger.“I am not going to leave this place without getting in there, and you are going to get out of my way, or I might likely do something to get you out of that place.” Lucas dropped, and a burst of laughter escaped from the guard's mouths.Lucas was frustrated at his behavior now.“Well, I guess that you will have a lot of work to do, trying to get me out of the way.” He was still rocking hard with so much laughter.“Do you even realize that my girlfriend is there, and I need to get to her urgently?” Lucas spat out from his mouth and the security guard stared at him in amusement.“You are mad, aren't you? Just take a proper look at yourself. Do you even look like someone worthy enough to have a girlfriend?” He laughed.Lucas was already getting tired of talking to the man who was right before him. He had to go to the manager. Maybe he was going to be more reasonable.“You know what? Just take me to your manager and let me talk to him.” He growled.“Well, you can't see him.”“What!” Lucas exclaimed.“I guess that you heard what I just said pretty well, and I meant it. You can see him.” He said again.Lucas could not stand it. He was going to do anything that he could do to get into that place. He kept yelling until a young man, perfectly dressed in a white suit, walked over and stared at him.“What is happening here, Henry?” He shot at the guard.“I don't really…” The guard wanted to say, but Lucas would not even allow him to finish up with his statement.“I need to see the manager right away.” He shot.“Well, I guess that you are talking to him already. So, what's wrong?” He inquired."I have already explained to this employee of yours, but it seems he is just way too dumb to understand what I have been trying to say. My girlfriend is there, and I need to see her urgently”, Lucas noted. But then, immediately he spat out the words from his mouth, the eyes of the manager brightened.“Your girlfriend?” He returned again and from the look that was hanging on his face, it was clear that he did not believe a single word of what Lucas just spat out from his mouth, but he pushed the surprised look away from his face even because Lucas could notice.“Well, I am sorry to disappoint you but apart from the fact that you are not fit physically to go into the hotel, you need a membership card before you can walk into the hotel.” The manager explained to him and his eyes brightened. It meant that with all the effort and the wait, he could not go in. At the height of his disappointment, he saw her walking out of the hotel room.Lucas made to run over to her, but he noticed that she was with someone who was just beside her and kissing her.His heart skipped countless beats and shattered into a million pieces. When he looked closer, he noticed that it was the school prince, Thompson. The most popular guy who always had any girl he wanted. His face squeezed into a deadly frown, coupled with his broken heartSo, what the people were saying about her cheating on him all this while was true, and she had always been cheating on him all this while. He was so blinded to that fact…He could no longer stand there and before the guard's could notice, he broke away and ran over to Ella.Likewise, he could already feel tears forming at the corner of his eyes, while he tried as much as he could to push them back.“Ella, how could you?” The words shot out of his mouth.“What's happening here and what is the piglet doing here?” Thompson shot at him with so much disgust written all over his face."Love, I guess that this is a mistake. Just give us a few minutes together”, Ella noted and kissed Thompson on his cheek.Lucas was still confused while he tried as hard as he could to process what was going on in his head, but before he could get to say anything, Ella pulled him aside.“And what do you think that you are doing here?” She shot at him, and there was not even the slightest trace of remorse in her eyes.“What am I doing here?” Is that the only thing that you have to say right now?” Lucas shot.“Shut up and listen to me. I never knew you, and you don't know me either.” She explained to him.“What are you even saying, Ella? I thought that you said you loved me and here you are, cheating on me with another man. And this is what you have to say? Are you for real right now?” Lucas inquired.“Loved you? See Lucas, let me put this straight to you once and for all. I only needed someone to show to my parents as my boyfriend or something so that they were going to stop bugging me about getting married”, she explained, and Lucas felt his heart sinking.“Just take a look at us. Are we even compatible?” She inquired.“But.”“No Lucas, No buts. Just get this straight. I have found someone that I want to spend the rest of my life with, and don't you dare screw things up for me.” She growled.“But we can fix this, Ella.”“There is nothing to fix here apart from that miserable life of yours, and I bet that you have a long way to go.” She shot at him and turned around to leave, while Lucas stared, so heartbroken that he could not even shed tears.Ella walked away from him and walked towards Thompson, who hugged her tightly.Lucas stared at the vacuum that she had created right before him. He could feel his heart beating so hard that the sound of it was rising to his hearing. But he could not let it end just like that. He was tired of being such a coward, constantly trying to back out of a fight because he was poor. He thought that going into a fight was only going to get him into trouble.Likewise, he could feel the Adrenaline gushing into his blood streams so hard and bad that he could hardly breathe. He clutched his hands and his feet made a rumbling sound as he stamped them on the floor while walking towards Ella and Thompson. They stared at him for a while, perplexed about what it was that he was about to do.“Get your hands off, my lady.” He growled at Thompson, pushing him away from Ella just as she shot him a really weird stare.“And what is it that you think you are trying to do?” She asked, with so much hate and disgu
Lucas opened his eyes slowly, and it was more like a sun blister all over his body. A slight groan escaped from his mouth as he clutched his hands to the covering of the soft tissue that seemed to be beneath him.He looked up and noticed a beautiful ceiling above him, and he was confused for a while. He didn't know where he was or even how he got there for a start, but he was here.Likewise, he had to find out where he was as soon as he could, and that might even give him a clue on how he was going to leave that hell of a place. Lucas stared around for a while, with his eyes darting to across the room and focusing on the glittering tiles. Then it struck him, he was in a massive hospital. It had been a long time since he visited a hospital because he didn't have the money to visit one. Talk less of a really large hospital. But there was a considerable question that was lagging at the back of his mind; who brought him to such a large hole of a hospital? He tried hard as he could to rem
Lucas stared at them for a while, still lost in shock. He attempted to come down from the bed and this time, his only option was to run away because this was beginning to turn into a nightmare gradually."Sir, I am sorry but I think that there is a mistake somewhere because this can not be true. Just look at me. I am a nobody and how can I possibly be your grandson? I wish it was true but there is no essence of deceiving myself." Lucas shot the words swiftly out from his mouth, but Lord Randolph's lips only broke into a smile."I know that this would be hard for you to take in all at once so I am going to be patient with you." He mumbled."Just calm down and you are going to realize what I am trying to put across to you." He assured Lucas and he sat back waiting for the explanation that was going to justify this calm."So your father, my son, was the heir of the company. The only heir but that was before his death." He began and his voice broke. It seemed as though this son or Lucas'
"Aren't you going to go into your new Mansion?" His grandfather inquired, with a smile hanging on his face and Lucas smiled back. But in between his smile, there were tears in his eyes. But this time, it was not those sorrowful tears, they were tears of joy. His days of penury was over and he was more like a god heir now. And to crown it all, all these things happened in a blink.Lucas nodded his head as he started walking into that mansion while he continued to stare around for a while. For the first time, he noticed that he was so lost staring at the building that he did not even notice the beautiful environment. The flowers complimented the building, tiled floors, and statues carved from a tree. Fountains littered all around. At some point, it felt as though his heart was going to skip a lot of beats.Lucas spent the night in his Mansion but the next morning, he had to return to school. But now, he noticed that he would have a really tough decision to make. Either to return to hi
Lucas looked up at the list of things that he had to do for the day. First, he had to visit his grandfather's legendary company so that he would be shown around. And get to know it.He could not wait for the thrilling experience. He had always heard about the Belcraft company from people who had gotten the opportunity to go in.And opportunity, it was a whole more like a thousand chains of connection before you could get yourself in there. And as a poor guy that he was or used to be, the only thing that he had gotten to see was just the glimpse of the exteriorBut today, he was not just going to walk in it but as a heirHe got his bath and got into his torn clothes. It was the only thing that his hands could get to since he was yet to buy anything for himself with the money that his grandfather gave to him.And to make things even better for him, his bicycle was returned to him the previous day at his request. He got ready and he walked over to his bicycle, got into it and he began to
Lucas had a small smirk on his face as he folded his hands to his chest and watched the little drama that was currently unfolding. Never in his life did he think that he would be in a position where someone would have his back, and even, fire someone because of him.“Young master, are you okay?” Blake asked, but Lucas held him on his wrist and pulled him to a corner. “Mr. Blake! You can’t let anyone know of my identity! If you keep on calling me young master, people will start to suspect”, Lucas declared defiantly, with Blake lowering his head in respect.“I’m sorry, young master”, Blake said in a voice that sounded like a whisper, while Lucas took in a deep breath and looked up. He had to get used to the fact that he was now the heir to the Belcraft group. It was hard to do that, but he couldn’t wait to witness other things that are yet to unfold.“So, this is the company?” He asked as he looked at the big buildings that were scattered at different corners. At the top of the buil
Mr. Blake called Lucas about fifteen minutes later. He had gone to do some research immediately Lucas asked him to.“Have you found out?” Lucas asked, with a deadly smile curved around his lips.“Yes sir… I’m coming to meet you right away”, Mr. Blake said, after which he dropped the call. Lucas looked around for another time before he started making his way out of the building. He loved being around it, but he wasn’t ready to tell the world that he was the heir.He met Mr. Blake on the first floor, just as he was about to make his way into the elevator. “I was coming to meet you, young master”, Mr. Blake said, with a small smile on his face. Lucas nodded his head calmly as he walked over to a chair at a corner not far from where they stood. “About Ella’s parents…”, Mr. Blake started, with Lucas staring at him attentively. “Their company is at the verge of running bankrupt. From what I gathered, they’ve been visiting the Belcraft group to gain favor and ask for help”, Mr. Blake ex
“Hands up!” They both heard a voice and slowly, the big guy turned around and met three men, clad in black suits and pointing a gun at him. His face froze in shock as he suddenly started whimpering, wondering who the men were and why they were pointing his gun at him.“I did nothing wrong. This wimp here is the one you should be pointing the gun at”, he explained, with shaky lips and heavy breath. Lucas nursed his cheeks silently and clenched his fist in rage. “Young master, is everything okay? Did he lay his hands on you?” Blake asked as he rushed over to Lucas. The other guy was shocked when he heard Blake referring to Lucas as “Young master”. “Do you know who he is? Do you know who you’ve just raised your hands on?” Blake thundered, causing the man to shiver in fear. Lucas looked around and observed that they were beginning to draw attention. This wasn’t close to what he wanted at the moment.“We should go outside. I want to teach him a lesson. But then, we would do that outs
Before Lucas could make a movement out of the location, a gang of boys had gathered already, surrounding him. The old man couldn't just stop calling him a thief even after he had explained to him that the money belonged to him. However, at some point in time, Lucas couldn't blame them. He had not taken his time to think through his actions. He should have known that it was definitely going to be outrageous for an odd looking man like him to display such huge amount of money, even if he was in disguise. No one but him knew he was in disguise as a poor man after all.Soon enough, it looked to him like the old man had filled the gang in with the wrong details. That explained the disapproving and angry stares they gave to him. It was unfortunate that even as he tried to plead with them so he could tell them the truth from the misconception the old man had, they had began to throw blows at him, kicking and slapping him at the same time.Lucas considered their action to be inconsiderate, i
He was more shocked to see the group of people staring at him, confusion spread out on their faces. There were just three of them. Three women, staring at him. And neither of them was ready to move away from the spot they were standing at. Although he wasn't surprised at how they stared at him. As of that time, he was no longer the rich looking, handsome billionaire. He was now an ugly haggard poor man who was sniffing around the cliff, probably searching for what to eat. After staring at them in silence for quite some time, he decided to make a move as he suddenly remembered what he had thought of doing if things didn't work out fine. As usual, there was always a plan B.Surprisingly, the first step he took made them take another step back. Despite given the distance, he could still see the distrust that equally led to fear on their faces. Of course, he should have expected that. “I won't hurt you please. I just need to ask you a few questions.” He said, taking another step towards
The last action he did was button up the torn trousers he was putting on. Unfortunately for him, he didn't have a mirror where he could look up himself to see how he looked in his disguised form. He had made a mental note to himself before leaving the house that he had to look the poorest ever. After his several attempts to make the people around him believe that Emily was not dead had failed, Lucas took it upon himself to go search for her himself. He knew how hard he had paid people to go in search of her. However, it was heart breaking to say that there was no one who took it in their deep interest to find her because if they did, he was pretty sure that some positive results would have come out. He was presently at one of the abandoned and deserted warehouses he knew about. That was another perfect spot for a billionaire like him to suddenly transform himself into a disgusted poor man which people would want to stay away from. He had chosen the warehouse, far from the mansion so
“He used to be a student at the school.” The words of Mr. Shaw couldn't stop playing in her head. “I was able to go into the city. That was the only place I could think of finding him since no one here knew who he was. And I had to start from where we had found you. When there was nothing positive there, I moved further. Along the line, I was able to find a group of people, young boys especially who had an idea of him. According to the people I found, he used to be a student at one Belmont Academy.” The old man explained to Emily. At first, when he had come into the house with the good news of having found the man in the picture and knowing his location, Emily felt her heart gladden. Even if they were on a maybe part of finding him, she believed a clue was worth something. But as it stood, she had just one question… how would she find him in a big school just as the old man described? From the look of the young man in the picture, he didn't look like one to still be in school. So, wh
It was two days gone in her new place, and Emily still couldn't remember who she was or where she came from. All she had with her was her name which sometimes she questions if it might truly be her name. And also the picture which she had given to Mr. Shaw to help her find the truth behind it. Ever since the date she found the picture, she took it upon herself to search every nook and cranny of the bag said to belong to her, with the intention of finding anything else that could tell her who she truly was. Unfortunately, there was nothing. It was just a bunch of make up kit, the name tag, and the picture. However, what Emily was truly focused on at the moment was finding out who the man in the picture was. She believed that if she found out who he truly was, it could be a lead to her real identity. Now, she was home alone like the previous days. Mrs. Shaw had gone to her place of business, insisting that she had to fully recover before she would start working for her as they had agre
Blake stood to stare at his friend in confusion. He didn't want to believe what he had just heard from him. But then, he was forced to believe him, owning to the seriousness on his face. “I have a lot of questions concerning this if you're actually serious about it.” Blake finally opened up to say. There was a reign of silence as Lucas didn't respond to him. “How did you leave to find Emily? Where did you also go to find her, Lucas?” Blake asked, hoping he would still get a response from him because definitely, he was curious.“When you all were asleep, foolishly believing that she is actually gone for good.” Lucas answered, a sting of betrayal playing in his voice. “Lucas, you're endangering your life.” Blake said, concern glaring in his voice.“I don't care if I had to do that. All I want is to find my woman.” Lucas said forcefully, turning to look back at Blake.“Let me remind you that this supposed woman is dead.” Blake said. “Her body was not found. That doesn't mean that she
“Is he still locked up in his room?” Mr. Belcraft asked Blake the moment he walked in. Blake let out a deep sigh firstly before he could respond.“I'm just coming in. But I bet he would still be locked up in his room.” Blake finally answered. The old man was the next on line to let out a deep sigh. When Blake watched him closely, he could see the wrinkles which had appeared on his face. It was clear to him that the old man was more stressed up than anyone else could be.And truth be told, he just had to be, owning to the fact that he deeply cared about his grandson.“Will you help me go check up on him?” Mr. Belcraft opened up again, pleadingly.“Of course Mr. Belcraft. I would do that.” Blake said, and he nodded his head in approval. Blake then turned in the attempt of doing what he had come to do as well as what he had been pleaded to do. However, just when he was about to take further steps upstairs, leading to Lucas room, he suddenly stopped. He quickly turned back to him. “Mr. B
All through the ride last night, Emily couldn't get her head off the fact that she was about to go start a new life in a village she knew no one or nothing about. Although underneath the scary feeling, she felt thrilled to go start a new life. When she thought deeper about the bold step she had taken towards an unknown destination, she pushed aside the fear that clunged onto her. After all, she couldn't remember who she was. There was a possibility her new journey could make it all happen. The clattering sound she had heard caused her to open her eyes, and sit on the bed. "Oh, God." She yawned deeply. For a minute, she had forgotten that she was now in the home of her saviors, the old woman and her husband. After she had pleaded with her to let her leave with them, the old woman had thought of it wise to inform her husband. Clearly, Emily didn't object to it. All she did was pray inwardly that the old man was going to accept it. And he did. While they took it upon themselves t
She had thought that the smell of drugs, syringe, and possible vomit had only conjured in her dream. However, she was all wrong when she opened up her eyes. Her first sight was the bulb producing light which was on, and the rolling fan. She stayed put for a while as she tried hard to realize where she was. Sadly, the harder she tried, the more pain she felt. The young lady closed her eyes shut again. This was in a bid to calm her hurting head, and also see if she could get anything. When she did it for the longest time she could remember, and nothing happened, she opened back her eyes. It was at that time she used the opportunity to look around where she was. Definitely, she had not been wrong when the smell told her she could be in a hospital. Even if her memory had a bit of lagging behind, she could as well recognize what an hospital looked like. But, she still couldn't think past the question she had. Why was she in a hospital? She thought. Despite the struggles, she finally
