“You're nothing but a good-for-nothing and a useless leech!”
The lady who was dressed in a classy cream skirt suit with silver streams in her hair, glared daggers with her eyes at the bowed head man before her, she couldn't stand the sight of him, as it was a repulsive sight as far as she was concerned,
Curling her lips at him, she went on with a sneer,
“I do not know why my beautiful and talented daughter had to get married and be ladened with a poor bastard like you! You're nothing but a leech, you and your sick mother!”
Looking at him disdainfully as he kept mute, she gave a long hiss before stomping her foot,
“Idiot, incompetent fool” she muttered,
“Look at me when I'm talking to you!!! Leech!! Where are the items I asked you to get at the store?!” she demanded with an arch to her eyebrow, whilst curling her lips,
“Answer me fool!”
Alphonse lifted his head and stared at his mother-in-law, Magaret Robinson as she went on with her verbal attack, an attack he knew could go on for hours, with an inaudible he finally found his voice, and gave a response in a small voice that carried uncertainty,
“I-its in the kitchen m-mother” he replied and pointed to the kitchen,
Margaret’s eyes turned bloodshot and she clenched her fist before scowling at the ant before her,
“Hey! Don't you dare refer to me as mother ever again in your life!! I'm not a bedridden fool! You know where and who your mother is and I'm not her! Or do I look anything close to a sick, poor, and bedridden woman?!”
Still glaring at him, she demanded in a loud voice,
Alphonse could only shake his head in response,
“No you don't, I'm sorry Ma’am” he replied in a low voice,
Hissing, Margaret rolled her eyes at him before she responded,
“You had better be!”
Alphonse had his head bowed once more, the constant insults and abuse at his person was disheartening, but there was little or nothing he could do about it,
As though the universe was against him, and determined to ruin his day further, he heard the approaching footsteps of another person in the home who was hell-bent on making the home unbearable for him; in person of his sister-in-law, Sophia, alongside her brother, Tyler and her boyfriend of the month, for she couldn't keep a man further than one month.
With a sense of resignation, Alphonse closed his eyes tighter, bracing for the inevitable barrage of criticism, and insults
When he dared to look again, his gaze fell upon Tyler, who nonchalantly held a stub of tobacco between his fingers.
Tyler, the family's notorious troublemaker, was constantly embroiled in scandal, yet somehow, it was Alphonse who bore the brunt of their accusations and insults,
The family's tendency to pin Tyler's numerous failings on Alphonse was both absurd and unjust, leaving him silently outraged yet powerless to defend himself.
Sophia looked at Alphonse and sneered, her eyes gleaming with malevolence,
“You're such an incompetent fool, a useless leech that only sucks one dry!!! You can't be addressed as a man, if you're in any place and they ask that all men should come out, please do not come out, as you do not fall under the category of being called a man!! Even our dog is way better than you are! Take a look at my man, and be made aware of what a real man looks like!”
While she spoke, she softly caressed the arms of her smug-looking boyfriend, while the other duo jeered at him.
Both men, as well as his mother-in-law, let out a loud laugh, enjoying the ridicule, to the expense of Alphonse’s dignity and pride; in reality, he really didn't have any pride anymore, as it had been trampled upon time and time again.
The clanking of heels against the tiled floor had Alphonse lifting his head, and he smiled; relieved to see his beautiful wife Vivian enter, with her entrance came a new wave of hope and he felt on top of the world, like he could take up all the villains that were thrown at him,
“What's going on here?”
She asked in her sweet voice that had his heart smiling, before he could respond his beloved mother-in-law had beat him to it,
“Oh nothing Viv, we were just about to tell Alphonse the good news before you came in”
As she spoke, she smiled sweetly at her first child, and then turned to the other two,
“Isn't that right?”
Without hesitation, the duo nodded their heads, hiding their smug smile. Vivian nodded hers as well in return and turned to finally acknowledge her burden of a husband, a small smile on her lips as she inwardly sneered at him.
Despite how she felt within, Vivian placed a saccharine smile on her face, and addressed her husband,
“Alphie, you know you're part of the family, and as part of the family were expected to contribute one way or the other to the growth or help of the family…”
She smiled sweetly at him and attempted to bat her eyelids, she could feel the bile rise in her throat and she swallowed, trying to push it down, Alphonse on the other hand, had his full concentration on her with an arched eyebrow, he wondered what it was that Vivian had to say, he could tell that for one reason or the other, she was stalling.
Needing to understand what she was driving at, he perked up and leaned forward, dismissing the various glares from his other family members, his eyes solely on his beautiful bride, staring at him, he couldn't help the blush that crept up his cheeks,
Alphonse cleared his throat, and in a low voice, spoke up,
“Wha…”
The question he aimed to ask got stuck in his throat at the sudden appearance of his formidable father-in-law, in the person of Thomas Robison who stared at him with daggers in his eyes, Alphonse found himself shuddering and cowering, almost faltering backward.
Me Thomas sneered at him, eyeing him with disdain, and with curled lips, he commanded without mining words,
“We're throwing our anniversary party, and you're going to serve on that day!”
Alphonse faltered on his feet, his ears ringing clear, while his eyes bulged out of their sockets, his eyes darted around the room and he could see the various looks of indifference and disgust in their faces, he gulped loudly before finding his voice once more, his mouth slackening while he spoke, “Sir?!” Lady Magaret gave a long hiss while glowering at him, “What is it that you do not understand fool?! You're nothing but a servant in this home as you do not contribute anything, you feed and clothe from us, and that makes you a servant!” She huffed and then a frown etched her face before she rolled her eyes and continued, “What am I even saying?! A servant is way better than you are, at least a servant contributes to the home, but you do absolutely NOTHING!!!” She shrieked at Alphonse, while still glaring at him, and Alphonse could see the pure hatred emitting from her eyes, a part of him wanted to cower but he didn't, but his body unconsciously flinched, and he shut his eyes br
It was the day of the party, and D’Oriental Hall had been booked out by the Robinson, the event was overflowing with different elite individuals who were elegantly dressed, donning expensive outfits and jewelry. Waiters were dressed impeccably in white and black outfits and a bowties, walking up and down different aisles trying to cater to the needs and requests of the guests. One of such waiters was Alphonse who hurried up and down attending to different guests and answering the orders of those who called him. He was utterly embarrassed, to say the least, but his only consolation was the promised night which he was looking forward to, the thought of entering into the promised land was his motivation for the night and was what had him going.Engrossed with the thought of the night, he didn't see Sophia approaching him with a disdainful look on her face,Splash!“Did you not hear me call you all day you fook?! Why would you dare to leave our table and guests unattended to?! Huh?!” Sh
Alphonse closed his eyes tightly, he could feel her cold breath on him and could do nothing but move back, he could feel the tears brimming in his eyes, even as his throat burned, His mother-in-law continued her subtle threats in his ears while sneering at him, he subtly opened his eyes and was disappointed to see the same hateful look in her eyes.“Sooner or later we’re going to throw you and your miserly belongings out the door to the streets where my precious picked your worthless self up from!” She paused, as though she was trying to catch her breath before she went on,“You're nothing but an absolute fool who keeps taking advantage of my daughter's kindness, but all of that is going to end soon!”Alphonse couldn't help but notice the knowing smirk and glint in her eyes with what she had uttered, knowing he could not get any answer from her, Alphonse hunched his shoulders and drooped his head to his chin. Lady Margaret had stepped back a little and was now glaring at him, daring
Before she spoke, she let out a scornful laugh, and then straightened herself up,“You're the one without any shame Alphonse! You don't have any money to your name and yet you dare to raise your hands to someone who can afford your entire generation, someone who isn't in your class or league!”She huffed and then continued, this time with narrowed eyes and clenched fists,“Who do you think you are to question me and interrupt us?!” she glanced behind her smirking lover and pointed between themselves,Although Alphonse was taken aback, causing him to flinch back, he raised himself to his full height,“I’m y-your husband”He tried to sound confident although his voice was cracking, Vivian on the other hand sent her head back and laughed to her heart’s content, “You're not only delusional but hilarious, you think someone like me will be saddled with your kind?! One who has nothing, and I'll leave a man who can afford to get me all the niceties of life, take care of my needs, and buy me
The next morning, Alphonse awoke with a heavy heart. After the humiliating events of the previous night, he barely slept. As the sun rose over the city, he knew what he had to do; return home and confront his so-called family. He walked slowly through the streets, dreading what was to come. As he approached the grand house that was once his home, he stopped to steal himself, taking a deep breath, he marched up the front steps and knocked firmly on the large wooden door. Moments later, the door swung open to reveal Vivian, Her lips curled into a sneer at the sight of Alphonse,"What do you want?" she spat. Behind her, the rest of the Robinson family had gathered in the foyer. Margaret stood with her arms crossed, glaring at Alphonse. Tyler leaned casually against the bannister, a smug grin on his face. Sophia stood beside her new boyfriend, both looking at Alphonse with disdain. Alphonse clenched his fists, trying to keep his composure,"I've come to speak with you, Vivian. Alone
In the dimly lit boutique, Alphonse dedicated himself to his work, the soft swish of his mop a constant in the quiet store. He had taken the job out of sheer necessity, the weight of his mother's medical bills and his own survival pressing down on him. Each stroke of the mop was a silent vow to overcome the hardships that had befallen him, to rise above the scorn and betrayal of those he once called family. As he moved with a quiet intensity, lost in his thoughts and the monotony of his task, he failed to notice the entrance of a couple. The boutique, known for its exclusive clientele, was the perfect shopping ground for those draped in wealth and arrogance. Alphonse, absorbed in his work, inadvertently pushed his mop bucket into the woman's path. The collision was minor, but the woman's reaction was anything but."Argh!" She let out a shriek that pierced the calm atmosphere of the boutique, drawing the attention of everyone present. Alphonse's head snapped up at the sound, his eyes
Alphonse had hoped for fairness, perhaps a chance to tell his side of the story, but reality had other plans."But I didn't—" he began, his voice tinged with desperation, trying to find some understanding in the manager's eyes, but the manager simply raised a hand, cutting him off."The decision is final," the manager stated, a note of regret in his tone that did little to soften the blow, "You need to leave now."At a nearby table, Vivian and Geoffrey shared a look of victory, their scheme having worked flawlessly. The other customers started murmuring, their voices a mix of sympathy, judgement, and indifference."Can you believe that?" whispered one customer to another,"Thrown out just like that.""I heard he was causing trouble," someone else chimed in, eager to spread the rumor.A woman shook her head, whispering to her companion, "Seems harsh. Didn't even let him explain."And from a corner, a man muttered to his friend, "Drama's always good for business, eh? Makes the day g
Alphonse and Peter made their way through the rain-soaked streets, the silence between them thick with anticipation. The plush interior of the limousine felt suffocating to Alphonse, each second stretching longer as his mind swirled with doubts and questions. Was this all a joke? Or a prank? He couldn't help but roll his eyes at the absurdity of the situation, his heart pounding against his chest."Are you okay?" Peter's voice broke the silence, laced with genuine concern.Alphonse clenched his fists, trying to steady his shaking hands, "I don't know," he admitted, his voice barely above a whisper,"This all feels like some twisted joke."Peter nodded, understanding the turmoil that Alphonse was going through. "I know this is a lot to take in," he said, his tone soft. "But I assure you, it's all true."The limousine pulled up to the hospital, and they quickly made their way inside. The hospital's sterile smell and the sound of distant beeping machines did little to calm Alphonse's
