“Take me to the best grocery store you know.”

“That’s a really strange request lady.” The taxi cab driver looked at Vivian through his rear view mirror.

“Alrighty though. I guess we’ll be going straight to the Oasis fresh market down town then.”

He turned on the engine. The radio began to give out background static.

“That place is expensive anyway. Completely overrated if you asked me.”

The cab driver took out a cigarette from his glove box and lighted.

Vivian wondered whether his rugged beard might light on fire. Surely it would be too good to be true.

“I didn’t ask you.”

The driver gave a driver laugh and moved the car.

They drove through busy highways. Car drivers constantly blaring their horns at one another. The whole place felt congested.

Vivian was extremely pissed off with this development
