Ashley was very angry after getting the information she needed from the workers that she couldn't wait to get to Damian's office and fire Ruby. She couldn't believe the reason Damian turned down Veronica was because of his Secretary. Ruby’s eyes were focused on the screen in front of her when Damian got out of his office. He walked over to her desk and leaned up against it. Through her eye lashes,she looked up at him seeing him look down at her. Ruby held her breath immediately when she saw how close their faces were. “It's time for lunch,” Damian finally said. “Did you make any reservation?” “Oh,yes I did make a reservation for you” Ruby said “Then let's go” he said and moved away from her desk while Ruby quickly finished her work and saved it They both walked out of the Company,but not without people staring at them. Ruby remained in her seat and kept sipping the wine Damian had ordered. Though he told her to order food too,but she didn't. “He wants me to be his woman? When he has a fiancée? That liar”She scoffed loudly. For some reason,she found herself being jealous of Veronica. She was sure she didn't have any feelings towards him,or she made herself believe that,but her heart was unnecessarily aching. After taking her time to enjoy the wine,she went to pay the bills,tipped the waiter that attended to them earlier, and left the restaurant. Her heart dropped in disappointment when she saw there was no sight of Damian and she would have to go back to the office alone. “How do you plan to handle this issue Mr President?” The annoying voice of Mathew took Damian out of his trance. Since the meeting started,he has been thinking about what he would do when he finally gets to the town where people were affected by their snacks. “I'm going there myself tomorrow to handle the matters and after finding out the cause,we would compensate the affected families” “Compensate? We don't have money to throw around just because of a mistake done by one person” “One person? “What is the issue, please?” Damian asked when he got to them. “The thing is…I…actually” Ruby stuttered. “You forgot to make reservations?” He asked calmly but deep down he hoped what he had just asked wasn't true. Ruby could feel Damian's eyes were on her,but she refused to look at him. Damian couldn't believe there was someone on earth who would be wicked enough to contaminate elderly people's food with a deadly chemical. People are dying and they need to be saved as soon as possible. Though the chemical wasn't from the Company,those people believe it is a fault from us. She also felt sad about the discovery they made but she was sure Damian would be feeling more sad than she was. He was the CEO and if those people die eventually,he is going to be the centre of public resentment. She would just be a Secretary in the end. S
