For the rest of Damian's stay at the hospital,Ruby didn't show up to check on him after he had told her to go get a life. A part of him was satisfied that she stopped coming while the other part ached. Damian slowly opened his eyes and stretched his arms, feeling the softness of the sheets surrounding him. He sat up and looked around the luxurious room, taking in the elegance of the furniture and beautiful paintings hanging on the wall. He nodded in satisfaction as he studied his bedroom.“I definitely have a good taste,” he said and inhaled the fresh air. Veronica had decided to spend her day with Damian,but when she got there,she couldn't get in because she didn't know his lock combinations which might look weird to Damian if she rang his doorbell, so she called Ashley and it was sent to her almost immediately then she let herself in. She chose not to announce her presence and just surprise him. All the excitement she was feeling died down when she walked in on Damian and Ruby fighting over a bra. Her grip tightened on her bag and she clenched her teeth. She hated the sight of them together and she was scared that he might start getting close to her and fall in love with her again.“What are you doing?” She questioned, trying so hard not to let her anger show,and the two of them looked at her. As she wept, Ruby's mind raced with memories of her time with Damian. The laughter and promises they shared together. As she sat there lost in her grief,she was taken out of her trance by the sudden knock on her window. She raised her head to see who it was. Damian slept in his study because it was the only place in the house that Veronica couldn't enter without his authorization. He woke up, stretched, and groaned. He knew Veronica would be mad at him for not coming back to the bedroom after leaving the way he did, giving the excuse of work. So, he went to apologise, but she was gone. The bed was empty, and her things were missing. He figured she had left the house. He ran his fingers through his dishevelled hair, letting out a deep sigh. “I will just need to come up with a good apology” he muttered to himself as he walked towards the bed.
