As she wept, Ruby's mind raced with memories of her time with Damian. The laughter and promises they shared together. Damian exhaled sharply one last time, composing himself before opening his eyes. With a calm and focused expression, he started the car's engine. Damian slept in his study because it was the only place in the house that Veronica couldn't enter without his authorization. He woke up, stretched, and groaned. He knew Veronica would be mad at him for not coming back to the bedroom after leaving the way he did, giving the excuse of work. So, he went to apologise, but she was gone. The bed was empty, and her things were missing. He figured she had left the house.
