I read the message, and I immediately rushed down to the location he had sent to me.

I met him seated all alone by himself, and when I got to his side, he yanked me toward the chair opposite him.

I barely had time to adjust myself before falling to the floor.

"What the hell was that for?" I said with anger.

"Are you seriously asking me that, Ethan?" Felix snapped at me.

" You tell me why you have been snooping around the death of Thomas Rabbit."

I looked around, and my gaze landed back on some of the people staring at both of us. Not that Felix cared anyway.

"Keep your voice down, will you?" I said, adjusting myself on the chair. I know one thing: I needed Felix if I was going to get to Frank and his minions.

He was the one holding the keys to all their secrets, and with just the right amount, maybe I can get him to work for me.

"Can I have some juice?" I said, motioning to the bar attendants.

A young lady in her late twenties walked towards me. She was wearing a bright smile and a revealing outfit. "What can I get you, sir?" she asked, her voice friendly.

"Just a glass of orange juice, please," I replied, my eyes flicking back to Felix, who was watching me with an intense gaze.

The bartender nodded and started preparing my drink. "So, Felix, let's get down to business," I said, my voice low. "What do you know about Thomas Rabbit's death?"

Felix leaned forward, his eyes glinting with a mixture of anger and curiosity. "I know you're poking your nose in where it doesn't belong, Ethan. And I know you're not going to stop until you get what you want."

I took my juice from the bartender and sipped it slowly, my eyes never leaving Felix's face. "I'm just trying to uncover the truth," I said, my voice calm.

Felix snorted. "The truth? You don't care about the truth, Ethan. You care about taking down Frank and his crew. And I'm the only one who can help you do that."

I raised an eyebrow, intrigued. "What makes you think I'm after Frank?"

Felix smiled, a cold, calculating smile. "Because I know you, Ethan. I know what you're capable of. And I know you're not going to let Frank get away with whatever he's done."

I leaned forward, my eyes locked on Felix's. "So, are you going to help me or not?"

Felix looked at me for some time, and I was not sure what he was going to say next.

"Wait?" He said suddenly, his gaze landed on me. "Is that why you want to have the Rabbit as a parent? You read their article, didn't you?" Felix looked at me.

"We both did; Felix and I still don't understand why Frank is walking the earth like he didn't do it." I said with anger.

" You still don't get it done, do you?" Felix smirked. "You think because you have the money and a little life I helped you program into the system that you can take down, Frank?"

"I know I can, and with your help we can make it possible." I said, sipping my juice. I glanced at Felix, who was having a second thought about what I was proposing.

"So you have proof that Frank killed Thomas." Felix asked again.

"Why do you think I called you, huh?" I said dropping my glasses cup. "If we can prove Frank killed Thomas, then we can silence him for life. He would be behind bars rotting away for all eternity."

"Jeremiah won't go down without a fight, Ethan. He has his father, who is ready to do anything or go to any length to make sure he gets away with whatever he does. And not only that, Frank is the heir to a vast property left behind by his grandfather. They are not only rich, Ethan. The boy has connections and can make anyone or anything disappear with the snap of his fingers like it wasn't there in the first place." Felix advised

"Is that why no one has done anything? Is that why you all worship him like a god and do everything he orders you to? If no one is bold enough to stop him, then you are merely giving him the chance to hurt you the most. Why don't you join hands with me, and let's make sure we bring Frank to his knees."

Felix stopped and looked at me. "What happens when we go to the police to give them the evidence? Do you think they are going to be on our side? Do you think they are going to arrest someone like Frank because we gave them some evidence?"

There was silence between the both of us. Taking the evidence to the station was one, and making the police swing into action to capture Frank was another.

But I don't even have the evidence at hand. How do I convince

Felix that I was having the help of a mysterious system who happened to give me a reward for each task and also was helping me get the evidence that I need?

Felix looked at me and saw I was not talking. "Yes, I thought as much, Ethan Summerville. There are many things you have not even thought about. You are rich; I don't know how you got the money, but you got exactly what you have always wanted recognition, and you are even dating one of the hottest chicks in the school. You can just let that petty revenge of yours go. You don't need to drag this further than it already has. You have nice parents who are going to take care of you, and if I were you, I wouldn't jeopardise this for anything."

I looked at Felix, "If you know what I had to go through at the hands of Frank, then you won't be telling me all of this."

"Tell me, what else do you really want?" Felix asked.

"I would be glad when Frank is rotting behind bars for everything and everyone he has humiliated. Everyone has a price, Felix, and I know you do too. Just name your price." I looked at him.

"Are you asking me to work for you temporarily or permanently because I am fucking damn costly?" Felix said, looking at me.

"Tell me your price. I am ready to pay." I replied, with my fingers crossed.

Laughter rippled through the hallway of Frontale University, bouncing off the pristine marble floors and the grand pillars that lined the corridors. I could hear it all around me—the mocking whispers, the amused smirks, and the quiet murmurs of pity and disdain. I clenched my fists, my breath ragged as I pushed myself up from the cold floor. My knees stung from the fall, my hands scraped against the unforgiving tiles. My backpack had spilled open, my few battered notebooks lying scattered like fallen leaves. Paul’s voice was the first to cut through the noise, sharp and laced with cruelty. "And down goes the pauper prince again!" he mocked, nudging his polished shoe against my shoulder, shoving me back down with ease. A fresh round of laughter erupted into the thin air. I groaned, my head pounding like someone had taken a hammer to it. My fingers twitched against the thin hospital sheet as I tried to push myself up, but a wave of dizziness knocked me back down. Where the hell was I? I pry open eyes as my head throb gently. My vision blurred before sharpening on the white ceiling above me, the fluorescent lights flickering slightly. The rhythmic beeping of the heart monitor beside me matched the erratic thumping in my chest. I tried to move my hand—and that’s when I saw it. The gentle glow of the tattoo. It was glowing again. I heard your father just sold some illegal drugs into the system. Don't you think that is really bad?" One of the students taunted Philip Jayden that his father was a notorious drug baron in the city. Philip charged at the student, and a huge fight erupted in the hallway. I laughed slowly, feeling myself. Yes! Let them fight over me. I had to show them I was not on Jeremiah's level. I need to prove to those low scum that I won't be bullied. Not anymore. "Hey! Felix smirked and leaned back in his chair, tapping a finger against his chin like he was calculating a formula in his head. He looked me over, his sharp eyes sizing me up — not just my money, but my ambition. "Two million”, he said. "Money is not the issue right now, Felix, but I need you to keep a secret. None of this must reach the ears of any students on this campus." I said, staring at him. Felix looked around and smiled, "Well, that depends on how much you are willing to pay for my service and how much you are going to be paying to have me keep my mouth shut. I can do both if the pay is high enough." I didn’t blink. I reached into my bag, brought out a slim envelope, and placed it gently on the table. He raised a brow. “You came prepared.” “I always do.”He picked up the envelope, peeled it open slightly, then nodded. “You want your name everywhere, right? Campus fame? Digital presence? My hands grasped my phone gently. My gaze was fixed on the screen. I could barely believe it. I was twelve million dollars richer. A money that was not befitting of a small boy like me. You know that moment you saw the zero at the back of the actual number. You lose focus. That was exactly what happened to me. My head swells, and my palms become sweaty. I looked around the school, and I noticed some of the students were beginning to know my weird behaviour. I have a lot of bills to settle. I need to buy books and also invest. The school were filled with different calibres of students whose parents got their money from gambling, investment, fraud and many other atrocities. But most of them like to deny the fact that their parents were a bunch of criminals. Rather, they prefer to flaunt their parents wealth and oppress the poor, like me. But not anymore. I looked at the message I was seeing right in front of me. I have been upgraded. That was also a good thing, right?
