A new lifestyle

In just about fifteen minutes or so if he calculated right, Liam heard hurried footsteps and a familiar figure walking into the hotel.

The figure was Mr Smith as she walked up to Liam, panting heavily.

“Young master,” He smiled at Liam who kept a steady reaction as he didn’t know what to say.

The guests and staff who saw how Mr Smith was reacting towards Liam wondered what was going on. He was the same man a young lady belittled a while ago. How come he was receiving such attention from a man who drove in with convoys? They didn’t know he was a big shot who wasn’t aware of it himself.

“Young master, please come with me,” Mr Smith said and he immediately led the way.

As the walked out, he saw a sleek black car idling in front of the hotel. The moment he got close to it, the door was opened and he went into it. He leaned back in the seat and he let out a breath he didn’t know he was holding.

“Do you need anything? I came as fast as I could,” Mr Smith said, furrowing his already squeezed eyebrows.

Liam sat in silence for a moment, trying to gather his thoughts. The question hung in the air, heavy and impossible to ignore. He felt like he was teetering on the edge of a cliff, with only one wrong word likely to send him plummeting into the abyss.

Finally, he opened his mouth and said, "I... I don't know how to answer that." He felt like a failure, like he should have the words to explain himself. But the truth was, he didn't know what to say. He only wanted to escape and be far away from his ex-wife.

Mr Smith looked at him with compassion in his eyes. "I understand that it's difficult to process everything now, considering the fact that you lost your memory,” He said.

"But I'm here to help, and I want you to know that there's no judgment here. Whatever you're going through, we can work through it together." Liam felt his shoulders relax, some of the tension seeping out of his body. "Thanks," he said.

“Grandmaster was worried about you when I told him you refused to see him now,” He said but Liam didn't say a word.

“He asked me to give you this,” He smiled and passed Liam a black card.

Liam’s eyes widened as he looked at the object in his hand. It was a plain, black ATM card, but it seemed to represent so much more. It was a symbol of the connection that his father still wanted to have with him, even if they couldn't see each other in person. Liam felt a mix of emotions, gratitude, sadness, and relief all at once. He clutched the card in his hand, his thoughts racing. He didn't know what to say.

“Grandmaster has transferred something little to you, it hopes you come back home soon,” Mr Smith said and Liam nodded.

“Since you've refused to come back home, I've reserved the whole building here, everyone has also been chased out, except those who are needed to serve you. You should spend the night here young master,”

Liam’s head spun at the news. He couldn't believe that his father had gone to such lengths to try to reach out to him. The thought of a hotel all to himself felt like a gift from a far-off dream.

“Thank you so…”

“Please don't, I'm just doing my job. You should take a rest young master, it's late already,” Mr Smith said. Liam slowly nodded and he came down from the car.

Liam heard his phone chime, he took it out of his pocket and he saw a message.

“Dear customer, you've received 100,000,000,000 from LCC Enterprise,” Almost immediately another message came in.

“The password is 4444, make do with it until you decide to return,”

Liam stood there, frozen, unable to believe what he was seeing. A huge sum of money was in his account, waiting to be claimed. But he couldn't quite comprehend if he was dreaming or not

Finally realizing himself, he dashed out, his heart pounding in his chest. He could see the tail lights of the car disappearing down the road, and he knew he was too late to catch up with Mr Smith. He stopped in his tracks, his breath coming in gasps. "Thank you," he said, even though there was no one to hear him.

He felt a mix of disappointment and gratitude. Disappointed that he hadn't been able to say thank you in person, but grateful that Mr Smith had gone to such lengths to help him. He stood there for a moment, watching the last traces of the car fade into the night.

Liam walked back to the hotel, his steps light and his heart full. He felt like he was walking on air, as if the weight of the world had been lifted from his shoulders. He couldn't stop smiling, and he felt a giddy joy bubbling up inside him.

As he walked through the hotel lobby, he caught the eye of the concierge, who gave him a knowing smile. Everyone had already vacated the building, except for the concierge who was waiting to take his order.

Liam returned the smile, feeling like everything was falling into place. He knew that his life was about to change, and he couldn't wait to see what the future held.

Liam sat on the edge of the hotel bed, his head spinning. He knew he needed to go back home. He couldn't stay here, surrounded by all of this luxury, while his father needed him. But as he thought about going back, he realized that there was something else at stake. He had lost his memories, and the only way to get them back was to return to his old life.

“Could he really do that? Would he fit into this newly found lifestyle of his?” He mentally asked himself, disturbed by the thoughts.
