Jack Sullivan stepped out of his car, as he walked toward the Civil Affairs Office.

The day was supposed to mark the official end of his marriage to Lisa Johnson, and while he felt no regret, there was a faint sense of hesitation in his heart.

The office was quiet, its sterile atmosphere punctuated by the occasional shuffle of papers.

Jack glanced at his watch and frowned.

Lisa was late. Not typical of her, even under strained circumstances.

He pulled out his phone and dialed her number. The line rang twice before it clicked. A gruff voice, not Lisa’s, answered.

"Well, well," the voice drawled.

"If it isn’t Jack Sullivan."

Jack’s grip on the phone tightened, his voice icy.

"Who is this? Where’s Lisa?"

The man chuckled, a low, menacing sound.

"Let’s just say Lisa’s tied up at the moment. If you want her back, you’ll come to the Johnson family house. Alone."

Before Jack could respond, the line went dead.

Jack arrived at the Johnson family house within minutes, his body taut with t

Behind him, the Johnson family followed in stunned silence, their faces pale and etched with guilt."Help! We need a doctor!" Jack’s commanding voice broke through the quiet hum of the ward, snapping the medical staff into action. Two nurses rushed forward with a stretcher, quickly taking Lisa from Jack’s arms. One of them, Anna Young, recognized him immediately."Jack? What happened?" Anna asked, her eyes wide as she assessed Lisa’s injuries."She took a bullet meant for me," Jack replied, his voice low but steady. "She needs immediate surgery."Anna nodded, gesturing to the team. "Get her to the OR, stat! I’ll stay updated on her condition, Jack. Don’t worry."Jack sat in the cold, sterile waiting room, his bloodied hands resting on his knees. The Johnson family sat a few chairs away, their unease palpable. Lisa’s mother,

The hospital room was quiet except for the steady beeping of the monitor. Lisa Johnson stirred, her eyelids fluttering open as she winced in pain. The stark whiteness of the room greeted her, along with the heavy weight on her shoulder. Her vision adjusted, and she saw Jack sitting by her bedside, his posture relaxed but his eyes shadowed with concern."Jack…" Lisa’s voice was weak but steady.Jack leaned forward, his expression softening. "You’re awake. How are you feeling?"Lisa managed a faint smile, though her eyes glistened with guilt. "Like I’ve been run over. But I’m alive. Thanks to you."Jack shook his head, his tone firm. "You’re alive because of your own courage, Lisa. You jumped in front of a bullet for me."Tears welled up in Lisa’s eyes. "I promised your parents, Jack. I swore I’d protect you. And look at me… I couldn’t even do that properly."Jack reached out, gently placing a hand over hers. "You kept your promise more than anyone ever could. You put yourself o

As he shifted the car into park, Emma unbuckled her seatbelt and stepped out, stretching.Heather, on the other hand, hesitated. As soon as Jack walked around to her side of the car, she let out a dramatic gasp and grabbed her ankle."Ow! I think I twisted it," she whined, gripping the door handle as if she could barely stand. She looked up at Jack expectantly, her eyes wide with feigned innocence.Jack raised an eyebrow, unimpressed. "Is that so?"Heather nodded quickly, her hand still on her ankle. "Yeah, I must've stepped wrong when I got out." She bit her lip, waiting for Jack to offer his arm or maybe even carry her inside.Instead, Jack turned toward the entrance and waved down a restaurant waiter."You. Help her inside," he ordered flatly. The waiter, a young man in a neatly pressed uniform, hurried over. "Of course, sir. Would you like me to bring a wheelchair?"Heather’s smile twitch

Heather asked sweetly, her voice carrying a deliberate undertone. As soon as Emma disappeared around the corner, Heather's facade crumbled completely. She slammed her phone down on the table, sliding it toward Jack with barely contained hostility."Look at this," she spat, her manicured nail tapping the screen. "Your precious Maserati? It's registered to Highland Holdings LLC. Care to explain that?"Jack maintained his calm, studying her with the same steady gaze he'd used to assess battlefield situations. The expensive chandelier light caught the anger in her eyes, casting sharp shado

You look like you've swallowed something unpleasant."Brother? Heather's thoughts raced. This isn't going according to plan.Nie Mitchell let out a mocking laugh. "Brother? Please, Emma. I've known you for years. This man is clearly some opportunist trying to worm his way into your life." He turned to Jack, sneering. "What's your angle, 'brother'? Looking for a wealthy family to leech off?"Jack remained silent, taking a calm sip of his water. His stillness seemed to infuriate Nie Mitchell even more."Stay away from him, Emma," Nie Mitchell warned. "Can't you see how suspicious he is? He probably targeted you deliberately. These co

Inside the Sea King Room, Emma Brooks excitedly pulled Jack Sullivan’s arm, her eyes gleaming with mischief.“Come on, Jack! Just one song won’t kill you,” she pleaded, trying to drag him toward the karaoke mic.Jack leaned back in his chair, an amused smirk playing on his lips. “I’m not really into singing.”Emma pouted but didn’t push further. “Fine, but don’t blame me when you regret missing out on my flawless performance.”The night had settled into an easy rhythm, with laughter, drinks, and casual chatter—until the doors swung open. Two figures entered, and the entire Sea King Room seemed to shrink under their presence. The Bull Mason strode in first, towering over everyone, his massive frame filling the doorway. Wind howled around the building, but the true storm stood in the form of a beast—Big-Headed Draco, the brutal enforcer for the Carter family. He cracked his knuckles, a grin stretching across his scarred face.“Three moves,” he growled. “That’s all I’ll need. Same number I used to kill that whining brat, Yemin.”Jack Sullivan just stood there, hands in his pockets.“Three moves?” Jack echoed. “That’s generous. You planning to take a nap mid-fight?”Draco sneered. “You got jokes, huh? Let’s see if you still smile when I peel your ribs open.”Maxvier leaned to Rawon and whispered, “Wow. Somebody skipped leg day and personality class.”Draco turned, glaring. “Say that again, pretty boy.”Maxvier smirked. “No thanks. Calm. Eerie. Confident.“Jack, before I kill you, I want you to understand something…”Jack raised an eyebrow. “Is this where you give me a villain monologue?”“No,” The Ghost replied. “It’s where I explain why you don’t stand a chance.”He took a step forward. The rooftop air was sharp with tension. Jack Sullivan stood alone, facing Warrior Ravol—forty years old, arrogant, and built like a war monument. His long martial shirt fluttered in the wind, and the smug glint in his eye screamed: I’ve never lost, and I won’t start now.Jack didn’t look impressed. If anything, he looked mildly annoyed.Ravol cracked his knuckles. “I gave you a chance to pick where you’d die. You chose the rooftop. Convenient. Easier to toss your body off and call it a tragic fall.”Jack’s voice was calm, bored. “Actually, I just didn’t want your blood ruining my new cinema floors. I own the place now. Try to keep up.”Behind them, Emma Brooks chewed her nails nervously, eyes darting between the two like a referee who didn’t sign up for this game.Suddenly—boots echoed from the rooftop stairs.“Stop!” a woman’s voice rang out.All heads turned.Julia Yates appeared, her figure silhouetted against the city lights. Sanaya had stormed off in humiliation. And Jack Sullivan? He was finally the proud new owner of the damn cinema.Jessica Lane, Charlotte Richard’s secretary, adjusted her glasses and turned toward Jack with her usual calm, professional tone.“Miss Richard will be driving home tonight.”The words were simple, but the weight behind them was anything but.Jack noticed how several heads turned, their ears practically twitching with curiosity.Emma, standing beside him, froze mid-celebration, blinking in confusion.Sanaya, who was supposedly gone, had actually lingered just outside the doors, eavesdropping.Jack narrowed his eyes slightly.Driving home? That phrasing was way too deliberate. And sure enough, it had the effect Jessica clearly wanted.Murmurs broke out.“W

Sanaya Garvos was a menace. She wasn’t just petty—she was childishly, ridiculously, outrageously petty. All because she didn’t want Emma Brooks to watch a movie. And the worst part? She was enjoying every second of it.She leaned lazily against a velvet chair in the cinema lobby, her wine glass swaying in her hand, eyes glinting with pure amusement.“Oh, Emma, darling, you really should just accept your loss.” She sighed dramatically. “The cinemas belong to me for the next three days. That means you’ll have to find another hobby. Knitting, maybe?”Emma, shaking with frustration, clenched her fists. Her pride refused to let her back down.“Fine! If you can rent them, so can I!” she snapped, turning to Elos. “I’ll offer ten million to book every cinema in the city!”The entire room fell silent.Even Elos, the greedy little rat of a cinema owner, choked on air. This was no longer a childish fight—this was a full-on battle of money.Sanaya, still grinning, flicked her hair.“Ten million?
